There was an outage of Alexa voice control around the time of your original post.

Which voice system is in use, Google’s, Amazon’s, or Sonos’? Have you tried uninstalling it, and re-setting it up?

I’d likely call Sonos Support to discuss it.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

Thanks Bruce, problem solved with help from Sonos Support Chat. Had to uninstall Alexa, then reinstall it, quit Sonos App and then reopen it. Bit of a palaver, but then that’s par for the course with my Sonos experiences over the last decade….works nicely in the end.

It can take some time before an issue is internally confirmed as impacting many users. Only then will the Sonos Status page be updated, so it’s not unusual for a user to experience an issue prior to the issue being published on Sonos Status.
