I have an up to date Sonos system that is comprised of 2 Sonos One and 2 Sono One SL speakers.  I have an MP3 library on a networked Windows 10 laptop that uses MyMedia v.1.3.148.998 and the Alexa Mymedia skill enabled.  When I ask Alexa to tell my media to play any artist, the first song in the library plays and then repeats endlessly. If I say Alexa, “next” the next song plays and then repeats.

If I try the same thing on my Amazon Echo devices, it works as intended, one song plays and then the next and the next.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @MpJeeper, welcome to the Sonos Community!

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having issues using Alexa to play to your Sonos system.

The Alexa that is on Sonos is different to what’s on Echo devices, so we cannot guarantee that skills besides the Sonos Skill will work the same or at all on Sonos devices. Our skill page also mentions that requesting from personal libraries is currently not supported. While the MyMedia skill may be able to work around this, we won't be able to troubleshoot what is going wrong with it.

The recommended way of adding a music library to Sonos is via a network share, which will let Sonos see the music that’s on your Windows 10 laptop. While you still won't be able to use a voice command to initiate playback, you can use voice commands to control playback after items are in the queue.

I don’t have any information on MyMedia, so I can’t offer help there, however other users who may have used this skill before could reply to the thread to offer their assistance. Otherwise, I would recommend reaching out to the creator of MyMedia for support, as they’ll have more insight into their skill and what could be going wrong.

I hope this information helps!
