Voice control and smart home

Alexa will not connect to my sonos roam correctly- it will respond but then not play news, flash briefing, or music. All of my sonos devices (roam, beam, and move) will not play spotify through alexa. I have called support twice, and already tried the following:On sonos app: disconnect and reconnect devices On alexa app:  Disable sonos skill and enable again  Disable spotify skill and enable again Delete all sonos devices and add again Deregister all sonos devices and register again None of these things have resolved the issue. I was told to post on beta community but I don’t have any projects open so cannot post on that board.One of the reasons I bought the roam was for handsfree use of Alexa and to play music with spotify- none of these things are working. 

As Smart Home enthusiast i want to control my home by voice without the cloud. There are solutions like rhasspy (https://rhasspy.readthedocs.io/en/latest/) for this. But there is no out of the box Hardware like Sonos Speakers which can be used for input. To not reinventing the wheel for every solution of this kind a streaming server as option for voice assistants would be very helpfull. So each third party service can hookup this stream and do its thing with the audio.

We have had our Move for several years, and all was good until a few days ago. Suddenly I cannot play Apple music nor play NPR News Now or the Daily or anything. I ask Alexa to “play NPR News Now” and she replies with “getting NPR News Now from Amazon. Here’s the latest episode for Jan 18th”….and then she stops. Likewise, I will ask her to “play David Bowie on Apple Music” and she will say “David Bowie on Apple Music” but then go silent. She responds to all other Alexa commands normally though. I also have an Amazon Echo Plus in the same room. When I ask her to play NPR News Now or Apple Music she does...so this is not an internet issue, not an account issue. I have hard reset my Move back, and reset it up again. Did not work. Would appreciate help to fix this. 

is there any way to specify where SVC will look for stations when the command is “PLAY xxx”?there are two local radio stations, both in Sonos Radio, both added to my favorites and Sonos favorites.KBCO KBCO Studio Cfor the life of me I cant get SVC to play the top one. various wording will bring up all kinds of crazy channels from around the world.my goal is to have SVC cycle through a short list of preferred (sonos) radio channels.thanks

TLDR: A new Move 2 that I believe is properly configured on the same Alexa account as all my other Sonos and Alexa devices is not appearing as an Alexa-Enabled device in the Alexa app. I am trying to add the Move 2 to an Alexa ‘group’ so that I can say “turn on the lights” and it will know where it is but can’t the device doesn’t show up. Details:I have an environment with many Sonos devices, several of which are Alexa-enabled (Moves, Ones, Roam and the new Move 2). All are properly configured and work perfectly in the Sonos app. All work properly with Alexa. On this new Move 2, I have Alexa enabled and it works perfectly.I have added the Move 2 as a “speaker” to the group, “Office.” When I say, “Alexa, play music in the Office,” it works. I have other smart devices in the group “Office” and would like to control them with this Move 2 by saying “Alexa, turn on the lights.” To do that, I need to edit the group and add the Move 2 as an Alexa-enabled device.

cannot add sonos roam as goggle assistant tried reset tried reinstalling the app nothing works

Alexa says she's found my music selection and announces it's playing but there's no music. Alexa will play music on my phone but not with verbal requests. 

Since a few days the integration between IFTTT and Sonos stopped working. I can connect from IFTTT to Sonos but no room/favorite infos show up. Has there been any change? 

I have a big problem. I’m sick and tired of assistant confirms everything I ask her to. I can’t figure out how to remove “talk back” it’s been an option in the past, but now I can’t find it. Is it really not possible anymore?

I’m trying to add YouTube Music to my account in the Sonos 2 app as follows:Add YouTube Music. I already have an account. Add YouTube Music account Please use the following code… Authorize When I click on Authorize I get a pop-up to enter the code. After entering the code, another pop-up ask me to select my Google account to access YouTube Music on Sonos. A last pop-up ask me to authorize Youtube Music on Sonos to access to my Google Account. I click Authorize and I receive a new pop-up with Congratualtions.When I returned in Sonos 2 app, an error connexion message appear. No connexion can be establish with Toutube Music. Can you help me ? 

Hi all, Just become a proud owner of a Sonos Era 100. Loving it so far and the app works very well. However, one issue I’m having, I’ve added my Synology NAS drive as a music library, I’ve then (through the app) created a Sonos Playlist with songs from this library. I can playback via the app itself, but the Era 100 will not accept a voice command to play the playlist, keeps saying that music service is unavailable. Any suggestions to fix would be welcome, I could keep a tablet next to Sonus to playback as all songs/playlists etc do work via the app but I’d prefer to use voice control if I can. Thanks in advance. Jamie

My new Sonos Roam won't connect to Google Assistant. I tried using the Sonos Voice Control instead but that is not compatible with either Spotify nor BBC Sounds and is therefore pointless. I have looked at every single existing support thread on this Community Forum and followed the advice of them all, and nothing works. I have only one Google account, and my Roam and phone are both connected to the same WiFi network. I have no other voice control currently installed on the Roam. I have tried unlinking my Sonos account on Google Assistant/Home, I've tried restarting all devices and the router, and deleting and reinstalling apps. Nothing works. I select to add Google Assistant voice control on the app, and select my Roam as the device (I own no other 'smart' speakers etc), and click to add Google Assistant again, and then I just get the error message below every time saying "There was a problem adding Google Assistant". I have recently purchased an Era 100. It has been set up as per instructions and prompts and has been working fine until a few days ago. Alexa has not been responding to the command to turn off and the only way to turn it off has been to ask it to change radio stations then command it to turn off. The speaker is mainly set to Newstalk ZB talk radio station for most of the day. It turns on fine and adjusts volume when requested.  Any clues out there how to fix this?

I am trying to connect my Play 1 to the Alexa services.Alexa can see the Room, but not the device, nothing seems to allow the app to discover the Sonos Play 1.I have reset and rebooted, checked the software, the Sonos is working through traditional apps and services fine, but the alexa just cannot find it.What could i be missing?When i scan for the speaker, it finds a plug that is not in service - no idea why, but i have tried to search repetitively without success.The play 1 is on the same network as the alexa dot… i feel like i MUST be missing something…The skills to play have been enabled, the room is known to alexa but there are no speakers, i am getting desperate!Please any help would be great.Alexa not discovering my Sonos Play:1 | Sono

When are we getting Google Assistant on the Era 100. I have 15 Sonos devices throughout my home and a whole smart home network with Google Assistant. I was so excited when I got two new Era 100s  for Christmas to replace some older Sonos Ones but fun fact they no longer work with Google Assistant. In what universe do new products have less features? I am so disappointed because I now have to have an extra Sonos One to control the rest of my smart home (AC, lights, etc.) and play YouTube Music which you can’t get via Alexa. Feels like a miss. -_-

I’m trying to get my Google assistant to play well with my Sonos. I have a Nest Mini and a Symfonisk bookcase speaker in my home office. I’ve linked Sonos to my google assistant. I’ve placed the symfonisk in the same room as my nest mini, and I’ve set the symfonisk to be the default device for playback of music. The problem I have is that I will regularily be told that “Sorry, that mode isn’t available” for quite a few commands. For instance “Play music by Birdy” or “Play music by Birdy on Spotify” always fails with this message. Other commands such as “Play music by Linkin Park” allows my nest to start the music on my symfonisk, however, sometimes it will tell me something went wrong, despite the fact that nothing went wrong, and music is indeed playing. Other commands such as volume up and down almost always seem to work. Personally, I’m hoping sonos starts selling a small usb-powered microphone that people can place in rooms with Sonos devices that don’t have

Alexa announcements generated from Alexa routines do not work on my Sonos One (2nd Gen). Although, announcements do work from voice activated commands.Announcement through routines also seem to work fine on Beam and Arc, it's just my Ones that it does not work. Confirmed the Ones have alexa setup properly.This was a previous tropic, but that topic was closed, and no resolutions were provided. So, I’m re-opening this issue. Over the past few weeks, I noticed my Sonos speaker with Google Assistant is not registering commands to control music. I can ask Google to play music and ask what music is playing, but when I ask it to stop music, it says no music is playing. I deregistered Sonos from the Google app and unlinked Spotify and then set everything up again, but this didn’t work. I think there’s a bug with either Google Assistant or Spotify, but I think it’s Spotify. Also having the same issue with the Amazon Alexa voice. Only thing that’s working is the Sonos voice. Anyone else experiencing this?

Sonos, when are you/BBC/Google going to fix this ridiculous issue? I can see posts about this from over 12 months ago!Surely between the 3 of these huge businesses you can fix this minor issue? Or do you just take our money and then ignore us when we have any issues? 

Hoi, ik heb (1xSub/ 2x One S2 / Arc gen2. Voorheen gebruikten we een Playbar deze is nu vervangen door de Arc. Voorheen als er op de Nest doorbel werd gedrukt kwam er door een van de One speaker een melding. Nu is het zo dat de ARC(volgens Sonos )de master is en het geluid via hem komt. Alleen is het nu zo dat als er word aangebeld de volume van de Nestdoorbel niet correct is.Wat gebeurt er dan:-staat de tv uit en belt er iemand aan dan loopt alles goed i.o.v. het geluid. Als daarna de tv word aangezet schiet het geluid van 15 naar 70%-zitten we gewoon tv te kijken en er belt iemand aan, dan schiet het geluid weer naar 70%.We hebben gebeld met de klantenservice van Sonos, en voor hun ie de makkelijks manier hierin "stuur maar terug naar Polen". En dan ben je de komende 4-5 weken wel je speaker kwijt.Heeft iemand hierin advies of heeft degenen dit probleem ook(gehad)? Moderator edit:Google Translate-

My default music service is Amazon Music and when I ask the Sonos voice assistant to play or shuffle a playlist with 200+ songs and then look at the queue in the app, there are only 100 songs in queue. If I start the playlist through the Sonos app and check the queue I see the full list (200+ songs).  Is there some setting I am missing? 

This is a reoccurring problem recently after a few years of no (few...) issues with the set-up. I have a SONOS one in the Kitchen and a SONOS playbase with Play 1 surrounds in the living room connected to the TV. I use Google Assistant (which is pretty crap at the best of times). If I say something simple like “Ok google, play” the light flashes and nothing happens, if I then manually press the play button on the speaker or the app it works. If I then say “ok google, stop” it then says “something went wrong in the living room”, if I try to turn the music up it just does it on the TV in the other room. I’ve reset the system, I’ve partially reset the system, I’ve rebooted the router and nothing works, the best that’s happened is that it temporarily goes back to normal before reverting again after a few days (and with no option changing). I’ve looked for previous subjects without success. Cheers

I have two Sonos One and a Sonos Beam. Before when all three units were separate, I could turn on the microphone function on any one of them, but ever since I attempted to setup surround sound, I’ve lost microphone function on all three units. I’ve since disconnected them, but still can’t get the microphone to work. I’ve searched the community and only found solutions to Alexa. Please help. Thanks!

Hello,I have two Sonos Ones that I have now added as a stereo pair.  This seems to work great except for one thing.If I use an Alexa skill, the output only seems to come out of one speaker.  For example, if I open the Face the Music skill, I only hear the skill from one of the speakers.I believe that if I have a pair of Echo Dots then the skills will work in stereo, although I haven't enough dots to try this myself.Should Sonos be able to do the same thing or is it always limited to a single speaker for this kind of thing?I should say that I have enabled Alexa on both speakers.Ideally I would want Alexa to treat the 2 Ones as a single stereo device.
