Voice control and smart home

Hi, I have a second gen Play 5, 3rd gen amazon echo dot, and Project Carbon turntable. I currently have my turntable connected to the play 5 through the line in connection through the phono preamp associated with my turntable.  I would really like to have the echo dot connected to the play 5 as well as the turntable to make it a smart speaker.  I was wondering if this is possible with the turntable connected at the same time? If so, what would my options be?  I also have an era 100 and gen 1 move if that matters for options.  Thanks in advance for the help!

J’ai réinitialisé mes SONOS plusieurs fois dans l’année mais rien n’y change.Sont-ce les serveurs de SONOS qui me bloquent ?

Hello, I’m using SVC on the Roam. Any answer given by SVC is (subjectively) twice as loud as the actual media volume. This makes it extremely disturbing and unusable for me because it’s basically yelling to the whole neighborhood about my Sonos setup status… making me go to great lengths to actively not use it. What’s the solution here? Thanks in advance. (P.S. this goes somewhat hand in hand with a different topic of mine, discussing the need to not have answers at all.)

I have a number of sonos speakers and voice control works perfectly. However, I have a pair of non-sonos speakers in my living room (fed by a port in another part of the house) and I want to voice control the system from the living room. Is there a way to do this. I have an Amazon echo dot in the living room but I can’t get it to transmit voice commands to the Sonos system. If I could get that to work it would solve the problem. I don’t want to buy a sonos speaker just for the microphone/voice control. Is there any type of device that could “talk” to sonos? As it is I have to walk into another part of the house to get Sonos to respond.

Suddenly my Alexa devices are not controlling any of my sonos speakers.  I’ve done the standard resetting of my system, disabling and re-enabling the skill etc.  no luck.  

When I ask Google Assistant to play a song on my Sonos One, she will start the song while telling me “OK, playing song x on Youtube Music” causing me to miss the first few seconds of the song. Is there any way to fix this? Either wait to start the song until the talking is done, or just not talking. In the grand scheme of things, I can live with this, but it is annoying.

I have added the Alexa Voice assistant to my Sonos speakers. when I ask it to play music, it will repeat back what I have asked in the confirmation reply but the music does not play. Has anyone else experienced the same or is able to suggest a remedy? 

Alexa is enabled in my Sonos app but when I ask to turn TV on for example it says OK but nothing happens but if I ask when Alexa app is open it turns TV on.  Also when Alexa app is open I can turn light on but not from Sonos, it says can’t find device

We've just bought a Sonos Roam for the new bathroom to listen to music, radio etc while showering. Bonus the hey Google broadcast to shout out for assistance. However while listening yesterday I requested it to skip the song it was on. The reply was that this feature is not available for Sonos? I was listening to my Spotify playlist, the paid for service rather than the free in case that makes a difference. Is there a certain way I need to ask? I asked it to skip that song, play next song, they didn't work. Thanks x

I’ve done quite a lot of research on this to try and find a workaround, but I keep hitting roadblocks. Can anyone help please?I have a Playbar and Play:3 - both are working great and successfully connected to my Google HomeA while back, I used to be able to ask Google to “play radio 1” on Sonos and it would work. Since BBC moved away from TuneIn to BBC Sounds, this no longer works.I have connected BBC Sounds to Sonos (I can successfully play Radio 1 by using the Sonos app), but when I ask Google to “play radio 1” I get nothing or a random station on my Sonos.I used IFTTT to create an applet using the BBC Sounds streaming link as the source but Sonos won’t recognise the link and throws an error “unable to play...” Is there is a Sonos friendly URL for Radio 1?My want is to be able to ask Google to “play radio 1 everywhere” and BBC Radio 1 plays on all my Sonos devices but from what I’ve seen\read it seems like this is impossible. In Google Home I currently play different music each day via amp as part of my morning Google home routine.  Daily routines have a custom command "play chillout music on bar", which plays on Monday for exanple   It works but messy to maintain multiple routines. I'm currently attmpting to shift my music routines to Google script.  I can play music to a nest speaker via script but when attempting to play on amp there are limited functions available, stop/start etc.  There doesn't appear to be away to tell sonos which music to play like you can with a nest speaker. Has anyone successful been able to tell sonos which music to play via script?  Current Script:metadata:name: Play music on bardescription: Play music on barautomations:- starters:- type: assistant.event.OkGoogleeventData: queryis: Play Christmas music on the baractions:- type: assistant.command.OkGoogledevices:#sonos amp name. In the last couple of months I’ve had a really annoying issue with a Play 3 speaker when using Alexa. I have an L shaped kitchen with a Sonos 1 and 1SL stereo pair (called Dining Room) and a Play 3 (Playroom). These speakers are in an Alexa group called Kitchen and until recently this setup worked well. A couple of months ago sound stopped playing from the Play 3 when requested via Alexa (Alexa play music in the kitchen), I can see the speakers are grouped in Sonos app and the app thinks it is playing, but sound can only be heard on the One / One SL pair. Removing and readding the play 3 doesn’t resolve.Playback is fine via the Sonos app and playing music from Alexa just to the Play 3 also works fine, issue is only present when playing in the group.  I’ve tried recreating the group in the Alexa app, resetting and renaming the Sonos speaker and nothing is fixing it. Has anyone else had this issue and know how to fix it?

Hi,I have sound system Symfonisk from Ikea and i cant link ot to Alexa. In the Alexa app Sonos does not appear at all in the list of available skills. I have spent hour with customer service from both Amazon and Sonos but nothing seems to be working.They even sent me a link directly to the skill but when I open it, it says that “skill not available due to geographical restrictions” (I am based in Belgium)Can someone please help me!? There must be a way to fix it and frankly I don’t know why it would not be possible in Belgium.I’ll add that already tried changing location to US on the device, Alexa and Amazong account.

This has only started happening recently where I ask Alexa to play a certain radio station or stations from tune in and her prompt is “sorry I am having trouble playing the music “. I’ve updated Sonos and the app . I’ve reset my network setting . I’ve reset the speaker . I’ve updated  Amazon Alexa . Still not working . Not sure what else to do . 

Greetings Sonos Tech Support,I feel I lost a few hours of my life troubleshooting sonos and this is making me want to sell all my sonos gear.  It shouldn’t be rocket science and Sonos should provide the tools or better GUI to understand where the problem relies because at the end we are using sonos to activate Alexa. I have over 15+ sonos devices, they are all connected to my router, they get allocated via DHCP ( I don’t want to reserve an ip address for each sonos devices), they have been working fine for over 7 years and all of a sudden nothing works. My problem is Alexa voice stopped working, i removed it and tried to re-add it and I get the “There was a problem adding Alexa”  I am at a point to consider install alexa puck in each room, not ideal but getting tired to troubleshooting for something that shouldn’t be too hard.  I don’t want to call sonos support, can you please share the tools to be self-serve, put a big disclosure for extremely advanced users.   Can you share the way

i have an issue with some commands google assistant used on a sonos one, the problem started a one of weeks ago, I cannot anymore use simple commands as “stop playing, turn up the volume etc. Other commands like to start playing works fine, also shift to the next track and more. When I try to use some of the not working commands google responds following, “unable to precess commands for code” Please advice,  ThanksC

Works fine for Amazon music but I’d prefer YouTube so I can also get their videos. Is there any way around Amazon’s lack of support for using YouTube as a music source when asking Alexa to play certain music on Sonos? Thanks

Currently, I have all my office equipment (monitor, lights, computer, etc) connected to a single Philips Hue Smart Plug. I have a Google Home speaker that is linked with the Philips Hue plug via bluetooth. I can give my Google speaker commands like “Turn on the office” or “Turn off the office” and it will turn the plug on or off. It works great.The Google Home speaker is not great in terms of audio quality and I would like to replace it with a SONOS speaker to match all the other SONOS speakers I have around the house.Will any SONOS speaker be able to control my Philips Smart Plug using a voice assistant? Keep in mind that I do not have a Philips Hue Bridge, so the speaker needs to have the ability to connect via bluetooth.

I just factory reset my two Sonos 1 speakers. I installed Alexa on one of them, and Sonos voice control on the other. For the one with Sonos voice control, I don’t want it to play Alexa music when the other speaker is doing so - but they always both seem to play the music when Alexa is triggered, even though she is not on the second speaker.When I go into the app and look at that speaker, Alexa is not installed as a voice control, only Sonos is. Yet it still plays. How can I fix this?

Alexa does not appear to be working through my system. (Beam). How to reset?

GA shuffles Spotify playlists just fine when playing on its own speaker. Send it to Sonos and it plays in sequential order with shuffle mode off every time. So Sonos, what are we supposed to do to make this extremely common use case work?
