google play next song - nothing is playing

Hi Everyone, Sonos move with google assistant and YouTube music premium. While playing a song if you ask assistant to play the next song or ask what is the song name. It says nothing is playing.Anyone getting the same issue? Sonos is on the latest firmware as of 2023 July. Thanks !!

Having to reset Alexa on Sonos Arc

Hi Had the Arc set up with Alexa voice control. All fine until yesterday. Alexa stopped responding. Went into settings to cancel, then re enabled and working again.  Just wondered how/why this happened and how often it’s likely to occur. Thanks

Alexa skill "Sleeping Jar" no longer works properly since FW 15.6

I am using the Alexa skill Sleeping Jar for many years now, and I'm using it on my Sonos devices since day 1 of the Alexa integration.Since the recent FW update 15.6 the skill no longer works correctly. The noises of the skill are played back in an endless loop, meaning they play until you stop it. This worked perfectly fine also on Sonos devices, but after the recent FW update to version 15.6, the playback ends after one hour. I'm not sure if this is the length of one loop, or if it's a limit within the Sonos code, but it definitely is an issue introduced by Sonos FW 15.6. The issue is present on all my Sonos devices, while the skill works perfectly fine on my Echo devices.I am aware of the potential alternatives within the Sonos universe - none of them is an alternative for me. Let alone that I'm paying for the Pro version of the skill.Thanks for looking into this.

Hi,i would like to know wich service IS better.It seems like sonos voici control recognize more song by Deezer than Alexa xith Spotify.However Deezer app doesn't connect to sonos Era 100 like Spotify does.So i don't know wich one to choose

echo dot and Sonos amp

I have an Echo Dot in my lounge and also a Sonos Amp connected to non Sonos speakers. I also have other Sonos speakers in other rooms. If I ask my Dot to play something on the Lounge Amp it always plays to my Kitchen Play 1! I can also ask it to play on my other Sonos speakers in other rooms which it will do. However if I ask it to play on my Lounge it always plays in the kitchen! Whatever process I try, I just can’t get it to play to my Amp despite following online instructions.Help please. Thanks.

Feature Request: Default Speaker group when bluetooth streaming

Whenever I play music from my phone, I ALWAYS play to all speakers. It would be convenient for me to pair with one of my Era 100’s and have the app already know I’m going to select all my speakers

Alexa-based Audible problems

Hi, Just bringing up the problem with Audible stopping after a few minutes when initiated using Alexa on Sonos. Did this ever get properly resolved? We have the same issue here. I’ve read a few threads but as far as I can see there is still no resolution to this after many months. Apologies if I am missing the obvious but I haven’t found an answer. I’ve raised this with Audible too but they are not being a great deal of help. This is a deal breaker for us. If we can’t get Audible working properly when controlled with Alexa, we’ll have to sell our Sonos products and look for a different platform. This probably suits Amazon because Echo devices may well be our only option, but it doesn’t really work well for Sonos. It would be a shame though. I love our Sonos system. Audible works fine when controlled through the Sonos app, it’s only the voice control that causes problems, but as a household we all read audio books veraciously, so this is a big deal. Thanks.

asking for bbc radio 4 gets bbc radio jersey

Hi.I understand that Google Assistant (GA) has been unable to play BBC Radio 4 for about 2 years now...despite the fact that Sonos supports BBC Sounds. I don’t want to use my phone to command listening to the radio, esp if I’m doing something in the kitchen.What’s interesting though, is that if you ask GA for BBC Radio 4 it serves up BBC Radio Jersey. So, something is happening, there’s a matching process going on in google somewhere and it finds a near neighbour. Does anybody know who to put pressure on in Google to nudge this over the line?eg.

Alexa reporting incorrect Sonos Beam volume more than 2 years later

I posted this over two years ago, and still the issue persists, surely I can’t be the only one affected by this? Original post: I always use Alexa to set the volume on my Sonos system (Beam, Sub and 2xOne SL) I usually ask her to confirm the volume once set, but now she is reporting it incorrectly. So if the volume was set to 1 initially and I ask Alexa to set volume to 3 then ask “Alexa, what is the volume for living room?” She will advise that volume is 1, even though it’s set to 3 as she is now louder.Steps I’ve taken to fix:Disable and enable the Sonos skill in the Amazon Alexa App. Removed the Alexa voice service in the Sonos app and added it again too and powered off the Sonos beam. All to no availHowever, what I did notice was Alexa would confirm the correct volume level after enabling the Sonos Skill in the Alexa App or removing and adding the Alexa voice service in the Sonos app, it was only when I asked Alexa to increase the volume and asked her to confirm the volume for Livi

Google assistant cant play any music, keep saying its not available

Hello, guys Has anyone experience the same :when using google assisnant to play music, it keep saying ”Sorry, the media content isn’t available for your YouTube music subscription” but I have youtube premium account linked.ok, fine, I tried Apple music then, it again keep saying “ it looks like Apple Music isnt currently supported on bathroom”what I try to fix it is:reset and reinstall the app    X  relink my youtube music account  X re connect my sonos one  X reinstall google assisstant and add google assistant to my sonos one again XI tried all above and it wont work, so I choose to change to Alexathe fun part is when I adding Alexa, it ask me to log in, and the page derect me to is a blank page, Does anyone experience the same issue when adding Alexa?  or any solution for it?I have nearly 10 sonos in my house, and it gives me a really good music experience, but this APP is really driving me crazy. If you have any idea how to fix this, please let me know. Can't stop music or radio using stop command (but can start radio)

Great that Sonos/Google is working again, however now I can’t stop music or radio (TuneIn) playing using the “Stop” command. It used to work. The error message I get from Google Assistant is: Nothing is currently playing.I don’t have any problem telling Google Assistant to play music or radio. Has anyone else experienced this?

Sorry, looks like Sonos is not available right now

In the last week my Sonos One stereo pair running Google Assistant has started giving me this message frequently when I request to play, pause, resume or stop something. Sometimes it’s stuck on this error - I can ask it repeatedly and keep getting the same response. That’s very annoying when it’s playing a stream and I’m telling it to STOP!!!Google Assistant itself is not affected as far as commands not involving Sonos streaming - it only affects media streams starting or stopping.The Sonos app is unaffected. Even when GA is refusing to start or stop a music stream repeatedly because “Sonos is not available”, the Sonos app has no problem doing it, and correctly shows the streaming status of the speaker.I can also ask my nearby Echo Dot to play or stop music on Sonos, and it works fine.So which side is at fault here, Google or Sonos?At one point I tried unplugging and replugging the primary Sonos One speaker of the pair. When it came back up, it would only flash red when I said a “Hey G

YouTube Music stops playing after one song - can it continue or is that still not available?

Hi allI just purchased a Sonos Move and I've been asking for a song via voice to play on YT music premium.Eg. OK Google, play Pearl Jam - Alive. This plays the song no problems however once the song finishes the music just stops.  Can the Sonos keep playing other random similar music like my Google Home mini does. Is there some kind of setting to enable or Sonos doesn't do this natively?  I’ve seen a topic 2 years ago but there was no resolution in there.

I’ve read several posts regarding SVC no longer working for Spotify and some answering that it never has?  SVC worked for Spotify on my Sonos Move2 until last week, I agree with the person that started this thread, SVC and Spotify did work.

Sonos 5 can't connect Google Assistant endless loop

I’m not able to connect Google Assistant to my Sonos Five and Sub (3rd gen).  Per the instructions, I’ve linked my music (Spotify) to both Sonos and Google.  I also confirmed the Five supports Assistant The instruction page from Sonos shows clicking on Assistant in the Sonos app and then it opening Assistant to complete the setup.  Instead of the GA setup page, I get a “Set up Google Assistant” help page which tells me to go to the Assistant App to connect it When I go to the Google Assistant app and link or reconnect my Sonos account, it connects successfully.   I can cast to my Sonos but GA doesn’t recognize it as a device I can add When I go to the “Devices” section in Assistant and Home, it only shows the Google devices and Assistant eligible and doesn’t show the Sonos.  I get the exact same process on both iPhone and Pixel 7 ProI called Sonos to help and the rep said “It’s a Google problem so call them” which is less than helpful answer.  Anyone have a solution to this?

Spotify doesn't work with voice command

Dear people from sonos,I have a sonos beam (gen 2) and I'm very happy with it. I have a issue with the voice commands lately and would like to solve this problem. If I ask ‘hey google, play ….. on spotify’ it says: '’Oke, I will play the playlist of ….. on spotify’ and then nothing happens. I already put the sonos bar off and on again, I reauthorised and reinstalled the spotify app in the sonos app en the google home app but now i'm running out of options. could you please help me? If i ask other things, like google search, it works. So it really is the connection with spotify I think. Hope to hear from you.kind regards,Mathijs

Tengo 7 parlantes agrupados en 4 grupos y habilitada el micrófono para cada grupo con alexa y configurados con zona horaria Colombia en la app Sonos, pero cuando le pregunto la hora a el l era 100 que tengo en la sala me da un horario que difiere de esta zona horaria, los otros me dan la hora de forma correcta

Post-powerloss set up

Whenever I lose power the Sonos system (5 devices) no longer are recognized by the Sonos app. I try dozens of times to reset.  No luck.  Amazon Alexa has no issues, reconnects right away and allows me to control the devices in seconds.  Typically after a week, the Sonos app starts to control again without any intervention by me. Does anyone else experience something like this? Thanks!

Sonos on Fire TV

Hi, Do you now if i can have the Sonos S2 app on a FireTV by the store? I didn’t found any information about.My setup is 6 One, 1 beam and 1 sub. I got an Amazon Echo Show 15 to have a pannel to control all my other devices. On this tablet,i got FireTV. I wan’t to control the music all round my house whit it but Spotify Connect is not enabled on FireTV by the spotify app and Sonos didn’t make an app on FireTVAnyone have a solution? :( (sorry for my worst english)

Are Amazon Show and Sonos really still incompatible?

Surely in 2003, two company’s with different objectives could at least work together in a modern world and provide an integrated solution….Sonos sound is amazin, my house is full of it - fantastic integration with Apple and Amazon has not improved In years whilst a phone is “a” place to choose music - surely a central control centre in the household is still a great asset to a system - perhaps the likes of an Amazon show? An amazon show cannot even communicate nor stream/airplay music to a Sonos speaker - yet both claim to be “so” compatible with each otherI have seen a few posts about this now and people saying they prefer wires? WTF?The amazon show can even show movies….Is it really to much to as that whilst preparing a meal in the kitchen say, that the Amazon show can be used as the household central control device, the words of the song appear right there on its screen and the music PUMPS out not only it’s little crappy speaker but the FULL Sonos sound system and all its beauty - n

sonos beam randomly turns off microphone so you get no response from alexa

As linked to above....my beam randomly turns off the microphone so you have to get up and turn it back on which defeats the point of using your voice.  It seems to happen randomly.  When it's on its own, and I can't be sure how or why it keeps disabling itself.  It has never failed to turn back on, but why does it turn off??

Using Alexa on Sonos to access BBC Sounds & Amazon Music - streaming interuptions (Unable to play song ‘song’ - the song is not encoded correctly. )

When using Sonos Alexa to stream BBC radio via BBC Sounds, or music from Amazon Music, I experience frequent (every minute or two) frustrating interruptions of a few seconds in the play back which just go on and on until I get fed-up and I stop trying to listen. If I monitor the playback on the Sonos app whenever there is an interruption the message is displayed “Unable to play song ‘song’ - the song is not encoded correctly. ”When I use Alexa on Sonos to access other streaming services (Greatest Hits radio for example) the radio service streams OK without interruptions….and if I connect my iPad to the same wi-fi point as the one used by Sonos and use BBC Sounds/Alexa/Amazon music on my iPad and AirPlay the stream to my Sonos it also works ok (no interruptions).So I only get a problem when using Sonos Alexa to stream the BBC Radio / Amazon Music content…..I’ve seen lots of posts about this error which generally try to blame the network the sonos is connected to….but streaming radio/mus

Can't set separate Google Assistant volume

There is no way to set your Google Assistant volume separate from the Soundbar's TV/music volumes. This means that if you muted your TV before last switching it off, you can barely hear Assistant (though it appears at least to have a minimum volume). And it means that if you last listened to your TV at high volume and go to interact with Assistant late at night, you likely will wake up your whole household. There was a thread on this which Sonos closed a year ago. At that time, people were complaining Sonos hasn't done anything about this known issue for two years. Why are we even wasting our time with feature suggestions, if Sonos won't take one which already should have been obvious anyway?
