Hey Sonos, hear me out... (this will never work but, let's try it anyway). To regain trust from your customers after the App redesign, you could decide to open up your systems to OpenHome and allow users to add their custom voice assistant with home assistant.This would be huge, there is a big community of makers and your devices are great and will easily be adopted as main voice assistant devices.If you compare the quality of a Sonos Era or One SL to the voice assistant preview from home assistant... it's like night and day.Let us add a custom voice assistant via API to our devices, people don't care much anymore about Google Home or Alexa. Let us have privacy and customization.Sincerely, one happy customer that would love this feature.

I connected Sonos to the Alexa app and used the Sonos skill for a while until it stopped working. So i disabled the skill, but couldn’t reactivate it. This error is due to “Geographical restrictions”. I’m in Norway.

Hi there,  I have a Sonos move 1 and i've been using it with much joy. But since a week or so I've had troubles with playing music with google assistant on my move. I have re-synced my sonos with the assistant in the Sonos app AND i've reconnected the Sonos app in my Google Home. (Done this twice now)Everytime I ask it to play it says:'’Sorry, I can't do that on this device'’ When playing music from the Sonos app I can in fact skip songs, lower volume or stop the music.  I've called support and they told me they can't help me, because I've done the steps they would do.  Does someone know how to make it work again. 

Hi, Today I tried to play music through Alexa and it said it couldn't because I didn't have internet, but after I tried with Sonos assistant and Sonos could. I removed my account and when I tried to log back into Amazon it gave me error 400, but I searched and there was no outage. Is anyone else having this problem?

After the recent Sonos system update all voice enabled devices have failed to install or load Google Assistant.  Sonos support is blaming Google due to Gemini and Google is blaming Sonos for a very poor app link integration. Shockingly Amazon Alexa and Sonos Voice work fine but for users who have all of their home automation on Google Assistant/Google Home they are screwed again. Please resolve this issue!

When I cast from an music app via wifi I can't find sonos arq in the list. Arc is connected to my TV and therefore the TV starts every time I cast music. So I am getting sound through sonos Arc but because of the TV which is connected to arc. I would like to directly stream from android app to arc.  Are there any settings in the sonos app?

I am using a stereo pair of Era 100 speakers and wanted to ask if Sonos would consider enabling native Chromecast and Gemini support on its speakers.Native Chromecast support would allow users to cast audio directly from any app that supports casting, without relying on individual app integrations or the Sonos app to initiate playback. This aligns closely with how many users already consume music, podcasts, radio, and streaming content across Android and Google TV ecosystems.Gemini integration would further position Sonos speakers as everyday smart speakers, extending their role beyond music to voice assistance and home interactions. This would increase long-term reliance on Sonos hardware rather than limiting usage primarily to music playback.From a practical and adoption point of view, this could: Lower the learning curve for new users Improve interoperability in mixed Android, Google TV, and Sonos households

Does Sonos have plans to integrate Alexa+ and so many other Alexa features into their smart speakers soon?  I am getting close to giving up on Sonos and replacing my five speaker investment and going with either Alexa Echo smart speakers or Google Nest smart speakers.  They may not sound quite as good as Sonos speakers (I honestly don’t know) but at least they support ALL of their features including their AI services.

Honest not sure if this is a Sonos issue or Google issue or both.  After adding Sonos with Voice Match for my account, my partner goes into add Voice Match but it says there are no devices available. She can see the speakers in our Home but they are not appearing as eligible for voice match. She does however see a bunch of old versions of these speakers. does she need to add Sonos speakers herself as works with Google? Do I need to somehow share the speakers as available for voice match? 

I had the S1 app for many years - all was working fine with Alexa. I could ask Alexa to play “x” on “y” room.I upgraded some of my Sonos ecosystem - but couldn’t afford to upgrade all to S2 app compatibility. Therefore I have 3 speakers on S1 and the rest on S2. But that seems to have created a problem where all Sonos elements show as ‘online’ on the list devices page - but when I click into each speaker/amp/etc - they are all offline. I have only linked the S2 system with Alexa.I have completed the steps below: Turned off phoneApp versions - up to dateDisabled enabled skill in AlexaRemoved and added speaker to Alexa appAdded Alexa skill in sonosReset networkTurned everything off and on Diagnostic data  ****************** Given that I’ve spent a few hours to get something that I use maybe once a day - is it worth pursuing?Thanks. Moderator Note: Recorded

Since Sonos Voice Control was released, it has responded to 100% of my first command after saying “Hey Sonos”. (Unless of course I asked it something it couldn't do, that's on me, not it)  However, while it’s sitting there in “Follow up/Continued Conversation” mode? It never EVER registers my second command.For example. Having music playing then saying “Hey Sonos, Switch to TV Input” CHIME and it does it. Then while the light is still on, I say something like “Volume Thirty Percent” or “Set Volume To Thirty Percent” and after I’m done the light goes out and nothing happens. EVER.But if I say “Hey Sonos” for both commands? It has the audacity to tell me that I don’t need to say Hey Sonos each time……. 😒This has been like this since it launched. Over 3 years now. I believe sonos voice assistant hasn't been updated since 1.1 (Will be three whole years in Feb) Anyone Else?

Hey everyone I recently upgraded my mini to Gemini and Sonos has been playing completely different song when I play it through google miniMy set up is Sonos 1 + google mini + Gemini.I will ask mini " Hey google play A song" and Google mini will respond with " Playing A song on this sonos" but what is playing on sonos is completely different song that i asked. I have tried rebooting mini and sonos . I have removed and readdded YT music and nothing works . It happens  on ALL my sonos controlled by google mini. This ONLY happens after i upgraded to Geminiis anyone having the same issue or find any solution ?Thanks 

I use "Alexa" and my Beam 2 repeats the instruction eg "playing BBC Radio 2" but then it is silent.  I have reconnected to my wifi, reloaded my music services and the sound works fine for the tv. What more do I need to do?

Recently, when I ask my Sonos 1 via Alexa to play something on Spotify, it tries to do so via my sister in law’s account Spotify account (which ultimately doesn’t work).  I checked my Sonos and Alexa configurations and don’t see any trace of her account information, everything is tied to mine.  It worked fine for years up until recently.  I also have a Beam and that works fine. The only area that I know of where any of our account infos would touch is we are both on a family Amazon Prime, and also Spotify family plan.  Does anyone know what to check or why this may be happening?  Thanks

I did try searching here, but can’t find anyone asking the same question? - I currently have a Sonos 5.1 setup in my lounge (Beam / Sub Mini / 2x Ones) - I would like to be able to access my Music Library in the kitchen, but at present I don’t have another Sonos speaker, or want the hassle of taking one out of my 5.1 setup to use in the kitchen?We do have a Echo Dot (Gen 5) in the kitchen - What I want to do is play music from my Music Library with the Echo Dot in the kitchen? - I don’t need voice commands to do so & happy to select music from my Music Library via the Sonos AppI can’t see a way to add the Echo Dot speaker via the Sonos App settings - Amazon Alexa App shows all the speakers in my Sonos 5.1 setup in it’s settingsI hope that makes sense & any help would be much appreciated … Paul

I have a Sonos One pair in my living room with GA installed and also a Nest speaker in my bedroom that has updated to Gemini. I use an iPhone 17PM. My entire house runs on google assistant.  Almost everything that can be plugged including all my lights, switches, LED’s curtains, climate, air filter, dishwasher and teapot.  GA was being really buggy so I thought I would reset the speakers and re-add the assistant. Bad Idea.  Obviously it was before I read anything on this forum about all the issues. I spent hours and hours working on it. I finally figured out that the only way I could re-enable GA was if the speaker pair had a new name, and they were in a new “room.” Once I got it installed, however, it refused to respond to “Hey Google.” Then I tried enabling the audio indicator which I always had tuned off and BAM, now everything is working mostly ok. It still often doesn’t work perfectly, but it’s working better

recently beginning of 2026, my sonos beam is getting "i can't connect to internet right now" error prompt voice when we try to use the google assistant.we tried to reinstall the voice assistant mutiple times, still having issue. sometimes, it worked for a while and then same error message again.after some research, people were talking gemini and sonos voice control conflicts in the same network. we remove gemini from my android phone, but the error still exist.any advice?

I am a dedicated Sonos user with a significant investment in your ecosystem, including the new Arc Ultra, Sub, and several Era 100s. While the hardware remains industry-leading, the software experience is currently fragmented for those of us in the Google ecosystem.Currently, I am forced to place Google Nest speakers right next to my Sonos speakers because the Era and Ultra lines lack Google integration. I have no interest in Alexa or Sonos Voice Control; I want the power of the best AI ecosystem available today.My message to the leadership team: Please set aside the corporate friction and technical pride. Integrate Google (and the new Gemini capabilities) into your latest hardware. Don’t force your loyal customers to choose between great sound and a great AI assistant.

I have recently switched from Amazon Music to Tidal. I have linked the Tidal service in the Sonos app and can control using the Sonos app, I just can’t get Sonos to play Tidal music using voice commands (Sonos), I get the following back:“Sorry, Sonos voice control isn’t available for Tidal yet”.Can anyone help, or is just a limitation I have to live with?ThanksLee

I have a Sonos system consisting of 2 x Era 100s, 1 x Beam, 1 x Roam and a Connect. I have had all for a while, but over the last month have had difficulties using Alexa to control them. Alexa works fine to check weather, add stuff to a list, but when asking her to play music from either Amazon, or BBC Sounds, or Pocket Casts, she responds, tells me she is going to do it, and then does nothing. A reboot of the speaker gets her responding again, but this only lasts a short while. I have spent hours on the chat with Sonos, and a 2 hour phone call with them and my ISP this morning. Sonos blame the ISP, the ISP blame Sonos.

Just over a year of owning the Arc, and I'm still a barely satisfied customer... It's a fantastic soundbar, but the voice control is very frustrating and in my opinion, it really limits our experience.After giving up with my preferred Google Assistant (because it can't play Apple Music on Sonos - why?!) and finding Sonos Voice far too limiting, I thought I'd try Alexa. So far, it's been the best of a bad bunch! At least it can play music and answer basic questions. But I've discovered a weird bug…While playing music from Apple Music, I asked Alexa what song is playing. Firstly, Alexa responds in the past tense (e.g. "That was Abracadabra by Lady Gaga"). But even more strangely, it actually tells me the details of the next song it's going to play, before I've even heard it! So that's some weird time travelling thing going on!There are other niggles, too. Like Alexa's voice is very quiet compared to the music so it's difficult to hear what it says. And I

When I say to Sonos, Alexa play Classic Rock Florida, it replies “ now playing” then immediately responds “ I’m having trouble playing that now”

My Sonos One’s are a pair, and have Alexa and Sonos voice control enabled. Asking for say ‘BBC Radio 4’ starts a service called 45 Radio (I have no idea why or even what it is). Speaking closely into the other speaker of the pair starts BBC Radio 4 no problem. I have tried removing voice services and re-enabling them doesn’t fix the problem. Please advise. Thank you.
