Voice control and smart home

So i own 2 Play:1s. And the one downstairs is fine, and works normally, The one upstairs (the one that’s having issues), works fine in the sonos app, but on alexa, it still said device offline. So i looked it up, and found that i could deregister it from my alexa account, then add it back, however when i add a speaker, it doesn’t find it during the search.  Any help would be appreciated  

Brand new speaker, Alexa seems to work for everything except controlling the smart home. It just says it can’t find a device or group with that name. System is updated, and I’ve tried disconnecting and reconnecting Alexa from the speaker.Thanks!

Make the Amp smart and have a line in for multiple mics. Make a discrete mic that can be installed in the ceiling or wall that will listen for Alexa and Hey Sonos commands. The lack of voice support from the Architectural speaker system is its biggest flaw.

It’s a bit difficult to pin down exact nature of the new problems with Google Assistant automation routines running on Sonos speakers that I reported earlier, but I’ve made some progress. It’s complicated by the fact that Google Home is in a state of flux at the moment as Google is making extensive changes that have introduced a lot of new bugs. No help from either Google or Sonos on this of course.The main item is this: now when a Google Assistant routine runs on Sonos and executes a custom command or query action that generates spoken output, it causes the routine to abort after completing the action.For example, you can have a routine with a series of actions to make device settings, or to tell you the time, the date. the weather, your schedule for the day, etc., and the routine will run just fine as long as they are standard actions or queries selected from the menu of the new automation editor. Since some time it's not possible anymore to play music by asking Google Assistant. When asking "Hey Google, play Radio 583", the answer is "I' m sorry but it isn't not possible on this device.I hope someone can help us.Regards, Florence 

Does anyone know how I can set up my Alexa voice / alarm volume higher so we can hear it without having the TV volume blaring out when the TV is turned on? I have a Sonos Arc. Any help appreciated. I have tried various settings suggested on other forums. Thanks you.

I have sonos one in the kitchen and can set up google assistant.  I have move 2 and era100 but I cannot.  What is the deal?  This needs to be resolved!

Alexa+ has recently been dropped onto my Echo Dot and it has made routines helpful

I recently replaced my Amazon Echo with an Era 100, and have been very disappointed with its detection of the Alexa wake word.On the Echo, I could be anywhere in the room, and say “Alexa, do X” at any volume level, even a whisper, and it would hear me. However, with the Era 100, we are regularly having to repeat ourselves, as it fails to detect us saying “Alexa”. I find we have to be standing directly in front of the Era, say “Alexa” firmly, pause briefly and then state my command, for it to work. But even knowing that, it still takes us multiple attempts to stop a timer going off as it never seems to hear “Alexa, stop” the first time we say it.Do others have the same experience? Or could our Era be faulty?

Well the Sonos saga continues. I lost Alexa connectivity a week ago. Since then I've changed broadband provider and router. The usual Sonos nightmare began. Difficulty connecting Sonos One to the new router, 1 still won't connect.Alexa connects, but with no functionality. Won't play radio or music and showing off-line in Alexa app.Why is Sonos such a nightmare to do anything with. I may give up and by a few Alexas and save the hassle.Any ideas????

Do we know when the Alexa Voice Control Playback failure ticket will be resolved?  9 days and counting.

About 4 weeks ago Alexa says “playing Jimmy Buffet on Pandora, hmmmm I’m having trouble playing that right now”Disconnected my router, unplugged my Sonos speakers, unlinked then relinked Amazon music and Pandora in the Alexa app, deleted the Alexa app and reinstalled it. Can’t get Alexa to play any music. Anyone have similar problem? Or fix?

Hi there. I’ve just installed some Sonos speakers to replace my Amazon Echos. The Sonos Speakers installed easily and I have just about got the interface with Alexa sorted out but it was a painful exercise. My problem now is that SVC doesn’t respond correctly. If I say to my Dining Room speaker “ play music in the bedroom” it plays on the dining room, the speaker I spoke to. The same happens if I ask the living room the same question or a similar request. Basically SVC doesn’t seem to recognise the other speakers even though they show up correctly in the app and I can select which speaker is playing. Worryingly I spoke to Sonos support who told me speaker selection can only be done in the app then sent me an email with a link that told me that it can be done with SVC!  Has anybody else had this issue and did you find a fix? I would appreciate any help anybody can offer.  Thanks in advance. Keith. 

Can’t get the microphone to work so not able to connect using alexa

I had my Sonos Arc Soundbar receive commands for Hunter Douglas shade operation.  Alexa still responses to commands but in Alexa is completely silent during operation, no sounds.  It had been working for years but suddenly a couple weeks ago it remains silent.  It’s nice to here the activation sound, not hearing it I don’t know if the command was received.

Hi, My Sonos One is not working. My regular Alexa and Google Dot are both working.What do I do to get it set back up and working? Thank you

Yesterday Alexa just stopped working on my Arc, not sure why. I have tried unplugging and restarting everything including the router. Also reinstalling Amazon Alexa, the Sonos app is not helpful in this process. It would not reload or setup. Back when it was working it has always had an annoying habit of hearing something that remotely sounds like Alexa and mutes the sound for a few seconds. In the age of super clever tech why on earth does it do this? And how can I get Alexa working again? 

Since the Amazon outage 20/10 Amazon no longer works on my Era 100 and trying to re connect fails every time. Any ideas?

Hi everyone, mods please move if this belongs in another section.I recently solved an issue that I think may help others who are using Harmony remotes with Sonos.The problem is that when Sonos devices are included in a Harmony activity, the remote often hangs on “Connecting…” for 10–15 minutes, and sometimes doesn’t connect at all. This happens both on initial startup and when switching between activities. Harmony has to handshake with all devices each time, and since Sonos speakers don’t have power states and no longer respond properly, Harmony just keeps waiting for a reply that never comes.As many of you know, Logitech no longer supports or updates Harmony, while Sonos software continues to evolve. Over time this has made the integration unreliable, to the point where it can prevent Harmony from starting up or switching activities smoothly.Workaround: Remove Sonos devices from your Harmony activities.

You’ll have to forgive me, I’m really not technical. I have a Beam 2 connected to my Samsung tv via optic cable for the Dolby Atmos. Both have Alexa capacity, I currently have Alexa turned on on the Beam but not the tv - I can turn tv on/off and control volume but I can’t open platforms/search etc and would like to. Can both be turned on? Am I better just staying as I am? I also have an Era with Hey Sonos activated but they just turn themselves on and off when they want, usually interrupting a conversation. I hope I’ve explained it correctly, I think I’m over my head. TIA

Since Tidal in itself is supported I would love to see Voice Control integration as well.I found it somewhat confusing saying everywhere that Tidal is supported but the Voice control is not. 

Lately, my Sonos has been randomly playing music. On way day it literally was playing music over a documentary I was watching which confounded me to the max. One day I come home from work to my house which had been empty all day and the music is on full blast.  I tell Alexa the stop the music and it does only to resume a few hours later.  I read this was a problem 7 years ago but no solution was ever provided. Anything new do October 2025? I don’t have any music apps connected so what’s next?

I have seen an old post on here but my Sonos Move announces it will play a Radio  then go silent, only just started doing it.
