Voice control and smart home

Question regarding Spotify using Alexa. I have multiple Echoes and dots throughout the house. On both the Spotify desktop and mobile apps it shows all devices so I could select which one to play music or all as the everywhere group.   Other day I bought a Sonos era 100 and downloaded Sonos app. I can still use Spotify desktop app to select any/all devices (living room option is actually the Sonos). But now on my phone it's only shows desktop (pc app and speakers) Living Room/Sonos and my phone for playback. I want to be able to control each device on my phone but now can't. The Alexa app can't find the Sonos.   

Hello,I’m planning to build my new home cinema (bar + sub + satellites), but I’m using siri to control my home, so one prerequisite for me is to have siri integration. I see you are creating you own vocal assistant but to be honest I am far from understanding this, what we want is one powerful assistant for everything, not yet another limited assistant from each vendor.. Hopefully this doesn’t conflicts with any potential Siri integration ?Especially since Apple plant to use generative AI now for Siri and make more intelligent, I would like so much to be able to use Siri from my home cinema.  I saw denon added it to their denon home system, do you plan doing it aswell ? Else I think I’ll need to go with denon, but I wanted to compare first and maybe wait a bit of something was planned from other brands. Thanks

It’s almost pointless to report new bugs with Google Assistant on Sonos these days, but for the benefit of those still using this combo:Google has new problems identifying which speaker to respond from if you have both Sonos and Google Home speakers in the house. The microphones are sensitive enough to pick up “Hey Google” from a couple of rooms away, but the multiple pickup is normally resolved by timing to identify the closest speaker. Lately there seems to be a new delay between Sonos and the Google servers, because now frequently a more distant Google Home speaker responds before Sonos, which belatedly chimes in with its own duplicate response. Sadly Google has never implemented alternative wake words to replace the tongue-twisting “Hey Google”, so there is no way to resolve this except to speak quietly.

Hi all, My Sonos Arc + 2 x Era 100 are set up as my home theater in the living room and connected to the TV via HDMI. In the Alexa App i have a group for the living room containing two lights. Whenever I use the phrase “Turn on the light in the living room” or similar, both via voice and routine, the TV and PS5 are turned on or off with the system. I’ve found other threads on this topic and have tried the following already: Unplugging the Arc and TV from power for a couple of minutes, disabling and re-enabling the Sonos skill in the Alexa app, and disabling and re-enabling Alexa on the Arc. When re-adding the Sonos Skill in the Alexa app, the TV is discovered as a device via Sonos. There is the option to disable the device or remove it completely. I’ve tried both options without luck - the TV still turns on/off. I’ve also tried removing the speaker from the group “Living room”, still the same. This problem is somewhat new, we’ve used this setup for years with no

Sonos really needs to figure out a way to get full Gemini or Siri integration.  I have a bunch of Sonos speakers that I’ve been mulling upgrading to new ones for a while now.  That said, no way I do it given the current limitations on using the speakers for voice assistants like Gemini.  I recognize this may or may not be Sonos’ fault, but that doesn’t mean they should not be going nuclear on figuring out how to do it.  If they aren’t able to fully integrate with systems like Gemini, I’d guess their footprint will shrink until they disappear or get bought.  Neither case is ideal as I’ve been a fan for many years, but this feels like an existential issue for them.I’m rooting for you Sonos, but need to see a solution no matter how you achieve it.

Sonos would become the number one pick for all smart home users, providing options for cloud or local voice control of smart home integrations, plus high quality consumer sound systems. With Android phones moving to Gemini, this change interferes with using Google Assistant on Sonos devices. If Google Assistant is not already set up on Sonos, the setup process now redirects to Gemini, making it impossible to connect GA to Sonos. For those who have GA already activated, enabling Gemini on the phone causes GA on Sonos to respond with a connection issue, rendering it unusable. This creates a difficult choice for users either stop using GA on Sonos or avoid switching to Gemini on their phones. Given that GA is likely to be fully replaced by Gemini in the near future, how does Sonos plan to address this transition and ensure continued voice assistant functionality on its devices?  

After the recent Sonos system update all voice enabled devices have failed to install or load Google Assistant.  Sonos support is blaming Google due to Gemini and Google is blaming Sonos for a very poor app link integration. Shockingly Amazon Alexa and Sonos Voice work fine but for users who have all of their home automation on Google Assistant/Google Home they are screwed again. Please resolve this issue!

Hi - I have a large detached garage (48x30) and have a set of Play:3 speakers that I will put one on each end of the garage.Can I have 2 echos strictly for voice control of those speakers in the Sonos system?  Not looking for them to play music.I would like them to be set up with Alexa so my wife can announce to me in the detached that dinner is ready! :)   - all the other Sonos speakers around the house have voice control and it is great to do announcements that go to every room with a Sonos (all three kids included) 

Hello, I’m running various Sonos zones throughout my home via Sonos Amps (9 of them) which power speakers in different rooms.  Since installation, I’ve always played music just fine via Airplay connection to the speakers throughout the home.  The issue I’m experiencing is that I’d like to add the Sonos Amps to Apple HomeKit so that I can run automations to play music at certain times, and also direct Siri to play from a Homepod or Phone to one of the Amps.  As I go through the process in Apple Home to add an accessory, all of the amps show as options to integrate, but the process continuously fails.  I’ve rebooted all amps.  I’ve rebooted my router and other smart home hubs. All amps show as an accessory ready to be integrated into Apple Home.

Please integrate Sonos with Samsung SmartThings locally. 

I live in Iceland and I purchased ARC ultra and wanted to connect it to my Google home account, like any other devices I have are connected to. When I try to connect the Arc to Google home I am told that Sonos is not supported in my country, even when the product is being sold in Iceland.  When may I expect the service available in Iceland? The product is not cheep, I would like to be able to use it. 

Afternoon all. Appealing to experienced hands as always as I’ve had no success to date with this onePreviously I purchased a 1st gen Hue Sync to add to a Panasonic GZ2000 running with a Sonos Arc, Pair of Sonos One’s and a Sonos Sub. The TV also had a Roku stick, A Nivida Sheild and an Apple TV box. But I could never get it to work and returned it. This was maybe three or four years back.Now I’m in the fortunate position of being able to set up a new room, again with a new flagship Panasonic, a Sonos ARC Ultra, a pair of Era 300’s and a new sub and would again like to try at adding add a Hue Sync. Most likely we will add the same Roku, Nividia, Freesat and Freeview boxes. Not sure how many HDMI’s are on the Panasonic …. I think 4 … its the Z95B.Possible to get any set up guidance from those having success here please? Or any limitations? Or is it even possible? I know there was a 2nd gen Sync launched a while ago but can’t see any real data on what sets t

I have a Sonos One in my kitchen area that will start a timer if I say “Hey, Siri, set a timer for 10 (or whatever) minutes.” Occasionally, I’ll ask Siri a different question and the One will reply that it doesn’t understand the question or that it can’t do that.I’ve occasionally tried this with the two other Sonos One speakers I have, and they didn’t respond (to be fair, the kitchen One doesn’t always), so maybe my kitchen One is an outlier.Everything is up to date, fwiw, and this has been going on for quite awhile—I’m just getting around to wondering aloud what’s happening. I’ve taken to practically whispering to my watch or iphone but I’m wondering if anyone else has run across this issue?

Hi,I have a Sonos Arc which I already had voice assistant setup with Amazon Alexa. I received an email from Amazon, “Reconnect Alexa on your Sonos speaker.” I followed the directions from the email which I provided below to reconnect Amazon Alex to my Sonos Arc but it has been unsuccessful and I have been having issues.I followed the below directions but the first issue that I am having is in the Sonos App after I removed “Amazon Alex” in the “Voice Assistant” and tried to re-add it I get a new window that pops up, “Control Sonos with Amazon Alexa.” I followed the directions in the article, “Set up Amazon Alexa with a voice-enabled Sonos speaker.” But the problem is that after I click on Voice Assistants and then choose Amazon Alexa. It does not give me an option to choose my Sonos Arc and instead a quick help box shows up, “Control Sonos with Amazon Alexa.” I have provided a screenshot for reference.I tried searching online and the Sonos community on how to tro

Following up on this thread - ​@Corry P - Any update here?My kids don’t have phones / the sonos app, but they want to listen to their own music in their own rooms. Considering getting them each an era 100 for their rooms so they listen using voice control.I like that SVC processes voices locallyI dont want to set up Alexa or google voice.reviewing that thread above I see there’s limitations using SVC streaming different songs to different speakers using spotify, wondering if that’s been solved? Might it behave differently with Apple music?Has this limitation of SVC been addressed?   

I have a stereo pair of legacy Sonos One SL’s in a room called “Computer Room”. I cannot use Sonos voice control to control those speakers from other rooms in my house that have voice control enabled Sonos speakers and soundbars. I've tried changing the room name but still no luck. I have no trouble controlling the other rooms remotely. This should work. I am running with the latest firmware update on all speakers 92.0-71170. Any ideas?

Hi everyone,for the past couple of months I’ve been experiencing a strange issue with my Sonos One with Alexa built in. It looks like Alexa has automatically enabled Follow-Up Mode (the mode where, after a command, it chimes again and keeps listening without saying the wake word).The problem is that there is no option to enable or disable Follow-Up Mode on the Sonos One, and I never turned it on.This is what happens:after giving any command, Alexa plays the chime again and stays in listening mode, as if waiting for a second command.I’ve tried everything:• Factory reset of the Sonos One• Resetting the Alexa app• Removing and re-adding the device• Various reboots, network resets, etc.Nothing worked.Has anyone experienced this or knows how to fix it?It’s getting really annoying because it keeps listening after every command.Thanks

OK, first I know I’m an idiot for my request, so please don’t abuse me! Also had a search through the forum, but nothing matching my exact case came up.  A couple of years ago I bought a pair of Sonos One SLs for our kitchen. I didn’t get the usual One (with voice commands) as I didn’t like the idea of a voice assistant listening in all the time and streaming ads/content based on overheard discussions. Mad maybe. I don’t know.  Move forward a couple of years and I really miss not being able to shout at Alexa to play some music. I bugger about on my phone trying to get music to play when we have guests. As I said, an idiot.  I would like to integrate (seamlessly!) Alexa into my system. Some ideas: buy a new Era 100 and pair it with an existing One SL. Use the other SL elsewhere in the house.    Add a third speaker to the setup (Era 100?) and have 3 speakers. How would this work with the stereo pair I ha

The Alexa voice volume is way louder than the music level. Anyone aware of a fix. I’ve read other threads without a working solution and mention of Sonos looking at a fix 7 years ago! 

I saw Qobuz was compatible with the app and never considered this would be separate from the very critical voice commands feature. So happy with the speakers but can't help but be disappointed about this. Is this on the horizon?

Hi. I have a Netatmo Smart Video Doorbell and had it connected to my Sonos speaker. I got a message via the speaker every time someone rang the door. But it stopped working. I have tried resetting/rebootingthe doorbell and taken it off Apple Home and reinstalling. I can now see it in Home (and it alters me on my phone when someone arrives, but I can’t find the doorbell when I try to automate a connect with Sonos via Home’s “New Automation” and “An Accessory is Controlled” option. Which other help instructions said would connect up the Netatmo with Sonos. Does anyone have advice on how to make this connect?

So i own 2 Play:1s. And the one downstairs is fine, and works normally, The one upstairs (the one that’s having issues), works fine in the sonos app, but on alexa, it still said device offline. So i looked it up, and found that i could deregister it from my alexa account, then add it back, however when i add a speaker, it doesn’t find it during the search.

Brand new speaker, Alexa seems to work for everything except controlling the smart home. It just says it can’t find a device or group with that name. System is updated, and I’ve tried disconnecting and reconnecting Alexa from the speaker.Thanks!
