Dear Community,Many Sonos customers are angry and unhappy at what Sonos has done in releasing a new app which removes a vast amount of functionality, much of it basic stuff, with just the promise that it will be re-added over forthcoming releases. I personally feel that Sonos has treated its customers with derision, and I’m angry and unhappy that this new app was released in such a poor state of development.I have pursued my complaint, asking that the old app is made available again to iOS users whilst the new app is developed to an acceptable level which includes the last functionality.I am asking the community to back this by:Call customer service and demand that your complaint is escalated to the highest level. Don’t accept the “standard” reply that the 1st line customer reps have been given to respond to you … that the functionality will be added over forthcoming releases. Insist it is this is not acceptable and ask for your complaint to be escalated. Unfortunately, it can take ove
The Sonos Ray is 29% off during today’s Amazon Prime Day.Sounds like a good deal but Sonos could decide to end support for this product at any time, for any reason. So, no thanks.
the sonos app works seamlessly on my mac air. I had avoided doing the app upgrade for fear of losing my playlists, but i did it and all sonos issues with the new upgrade don’t exist. My playlists are still there. The issues I was having with using sonos from my iphone were that I couldn’t control volume, speakers weren’t showing up, music was playing but i wasn’t able to pause, etc. etc.So it’s definitely an apple glitch, not a sonos one.
I needn’t repeat the obvious. The new app is hopeless. I can’t connect speakers. The system is 18 months old and has worked fine up to the new app.No answer on support. Fortunately I live in NZ. We have effective consumer guarantee legislation so this is going back to the retailer for a refund. My contract is with the retailer so they can deal with it. Many others in NZ will no doubt be doing the same. It can’t be that hard for them to load the old app on the app stores until its fixed. I hope their senior leadership team is loosing sleep each night.
They are forcing me to update the Sonos app, it sucks so bad. What are the alternatives for streaming music to multiple speakers in the home?
The app update has made our speakers almost worthless from the standpoint of how we use them. We have three Sonos speakers. They sound great, look good but here’s the catch. We are a multi user household. The updated app as I am told by Sonos customer services is designed for protection in public use. So they require the “owner account” to add music and content services to the app as well as to add or remove devices from the system. Previously I have always been able to use our system as a guest while logged in to the Sonos app on my own email/account. This allowed me to add and access my own personal Apple Music catalog and other app services independently of my wife who simply by default when setting up the system used her email/account. With the recent update I can no longer do this. The app instructs you to log out and log in with the owner account to add services or devices. If I do so I cannot add a second Apple Music service to the system. My wife and I have our own ca
Does anyone have a link to reinstall the previous Sonos App to iPhone (Apple). I’ve seen links for Android but need one for iPhone. This is the worst rollout of a supposedly improved app I’ve ever seen. If you use Sonos Boost for connection to multiple speakers the new app cannot find any of your equipment. Locked out of using any of my equipment, and management unresponsive to providing immediate rollback.
Sonos what’s going on, you bring out a new app and it’s crap, doesn’t work correctly. Unable to load content. Sort your *** out!! Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.
My partner and I dont live together but we both have Sonos systems. When we travelled between houses the old apps (S1 and S2v1) used to just connect to the system it found on each WiFi network. (there may have been an initial setup but that was in the past and once done it was all good)When at the house we didn’t live in, we could search the music providers at each house (hers spotify, mine tidal) and queue music and do everything you needed for casual everyday usage just the same as at our own house.with S2Vbroken everytime we visit each others house we have to rediscover the sonos via multiple clicks and it takes sooo long. Then when we get home its the same palaver all over again. I know this is an edge case and there are so many “bugs” (lost features) to add back to the app, but some indication on when this will get fixed would be great
There are endless conversations on this forum and posts on social media, comments on app stores. Seems to make absolutely no difference. The official statement posted on this site starts with:”We set out to create a more personalized and effortless listening experience with the updated Sonos app. It was rebuilt from the ground up to ensure it could support future innovation in the years to come. For its initial rollout, we focused on how we could answer some of the most common requests from our customers, including increased reliability, performance, and faster access to music”How any of the developers or testers could think that the current version of the app provides a more personalised and effortless listening experience is anyone’s guessPretty much all personalisation has been removed. It’s far from effortless so much so that I’m actually finding I’m listening to less music because it’s so frustrating to use the app. They say they have developed a faster more performant version of t
When calling Sonos Tech Support there’s an option to have STS call you back. I’ve used the option with success. Here are a few things you need to know:After being placed in the “Hold Queue” you’ll be subjected 😂 to a string of announcements. You’ll have to listen for the opportunity to leave your number and later receive a call from STS If you miss the opportunity while listening to the announcements not to worry the cycle will repeat and once again give you the opportunity to leave your number for a call back * Once you hear the offer to leave your number “Press 1” (or whatever the IVR tells you) on your phone and you’ll be prompted to use the number from which you are calling from or another. ^ If you’re like me you may have your phone set to automatically reject calls that are not in your contacts folder. Don’t add STS to your contacts folder because the number STS calls back on may be random. Go to settings on your phone and turn off “auto-reject calls not in your contact list”.
Moderator Edit: Google Translate- Sonos products have become absolutely useless. Uncontrolled level settings of multiple station searches. Nad is not found again. I recommend that all interested parties buy another product. It's a shame almost 3000 euros for a bad product.
How to remove the connect from my system web page of my products. I’m planning on giving it to someone to use since I upgraded to the newer Port.
I have just moved and have setup my internet. Luckily I can use the same name and password as my previous service. For so so setup do I need to do anything or will it just work if I plug it all in?
This seems like a really stupid question. But then, my old boss used to say “There are no stupid questions. There are only stupid people asking questions.” First, I am obviously logged in, or I would not be able to create this topic. But second, I do not see any way to reply to someone else’s post. I do not see a reply button or any hint of where to look for one. Given the hundreds of thousands of replies here there must be a way. Anyone? Bueller?
As my 5 room system is now little more than a very expensive bluetooth player, will I receive any compensation from Sonos. My system does not now do the very thing that I bought it for - to be able to search and play my local library.Had I been told by Sonos that the new app would not have this functionality, I would not have upgraded. But as the system (due to Sonos) now has different functionality, then surely the company should do something about it. I am told that this functionality is delayed due to the beta testing, well here's an idea guess, maybe you should have beta tested this new app before releasing it to the wider community ?
We have 5 Sonos speakers and used to be able to access my 65 GB of purchased music on iTunes by going to “Imported Playlists” (or something like that) on the old app. Now I cannot find a way to get at that music without having to pay for Apple Music. Why did Sonos do away with that pathway to the iTunes Music, and if they didn’t, where is it? I thought this was going to be sorted out by mid June. Of what year????
Sad to see. Sadder to see all the products I bought over the years turn to *. Listen to your customers. Your new app is absolute garbage, and you are losing fans - and turning evangelists into the enemy (quickly). *Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.*
bc, Sonos conveniently cancelled their support contact info….maybe (tho I doubt) they’ll read this… I’m sure you’ve heard this, but whatever you did to the Sonos app/system is a total failure….probably worse than the New Coke, except they reverted back to what worked. You took a very user friendly product and, for lack of a better term, totally * it up. Why? So you could scale it to something greater? Yeah, right, we’re all going to have a Sonos talking system in our homes bc you know apple and google are weak. Wtf, stick to your knitting….it’s sad bc I used to rave about Sonos and recommended to dozens of friends, now I’d busy apologizing. Sadly, I’m all in and have to deal w your screw up, but I will be equally vocal to everyone to avoid this “Edsel”. Btw, fire your CTO….John*Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.*
At least with the latest app update the queue can be edited again. However, I now get an error “cannot add to queue” - this happens after adding two (!) albums to the queue, from a music library. There are 24 items in the queue, and I can’t add more. After a few tracks are played, then it seems to allow another album to be added, but only one.Can someone from Sonos comment - is this a “feature” of the new app, or is it yet another bug? Either way, it needs to be fixed, yet more incompetence in a basic feature.
Absolutely SICK of SonosHATE IT!! 😡😡😡😡will never ever purchase any more to add to my collection! Most definitely would not recommend The new update is still no better! Rubbish!!The radio is CONSTANTLY keep going on and off every other minute, songs jump, songs repeat words…… it’s absolutely rubbish!I have no problem with any other item in my house that uses wifi so definitely not that, its at its worse this past few months!
Hello!I’d like to congratulate the Sonos team on the cosmetics of the new app.Unfortunately, many of the key features that proved so useful and intuitive within the previous version seem to have gone, such as all my Sonos Playlists (!) and functionality to Save Songs to an existing Spotify playlist. 😤Hopefully these will return soon, or I’ve overlooked these and they can be switched on using some new option!🤞(Apologies if these questions/feedback is captured within another post)Thanks,Chris
Sadly, I am walking away from a near $20,000 purchase of Sonos equipment for a client’s new home in Beverly Hills. The new app absolutely destroyed any confidence that I had in planning this installation. The Crestron control integration is completely broken and is crucial to making this a viable whole home audio installation. Sonos, your loss… not to mention that I won’t be recommending your products and will do my best to deter anyone who may be interested in Sonos…
App seems to be getting better, more stable. Navigation still challenging. Mostly still missing the feature I miss the most. When adjusting master volume, I really miss seeing the volume levels of all the speakers and then being able to easily adjusting individual speaker levels. And then being able to easily adjust the EQ right from that screen. Please restore that!! Thanks
Why would you release an update that is a complete downgrade and total disaster? What was the thought process here? And who was genius that gave this POS the green light? Seriously, I think the least you can do while we are waiting for you to fix this abomination, is give us some insight into what caused the defect in the minds of the people behind your self inflicted injury that has completely pissed the rest of us off and rendered the Sonos system itself almost completely useless!
