According to this article, Sonos hoped to sell 2500 Ace headphones a day but sales show only 250. The app has really hit Sonos hard and the stockholders. For whatever reason, I can’t paste the article here so if you’re interested in reading it..look it up.
Worst system ever. This is by far the most expensive speaker system I’ve ever purchased and I can’t even get it to stay paired with my music or record player. I can’t even get my Apple Music to sing, or ability to skip over songs. It’s not my internet. All my other blue tooth devices work just fine, as do all my tv’s…and everything else in my home. Just not Sonos. It deletes the speaker and record player all the time, stops playing and in general is just horrible. we went to a friends new custom built home and their speakers kept “stopping” as their pool. They informed me it was a Sonos system and how unhappy they were. SAME PROBLEMS. Starting to feel taken advantage. Whe does Sonos plan to take responsibility for selling such expensive items that are defective (or the app??). So unenjoyable when you can’t just enjoy your music widen your friends come over. Hours spent trying to fix this stuff.
Hi everyone. Given the ongoing issues caused by their garbage app which this shilling company refuses to fix, what are the superior alternatives to Sonos out there in the market, made by responsible companies that don’t have complete contempt for their customers? All suggestions gratefully received.
Please update the software so we can get Dolby Atmos via AirPlay on the Era 300. I was about to return my Era 300 because getting Dolby Atmos through the app was too much of a hassle, but when Apple announced that it would be available through AirPlay with iOS 18, I decided I’d keep it. But after a few weeks with iOS 18, I’m disappointed to see my Era 300 cannot get Dolby Atmos through AirPlay.
I have been dogging Sonos since not too far into the Version change. I was having a variety of issues that did not occur with the prior Ver. I had terrible experiences with the brutally long waits to talk with techs. I was incredibly unhappy and thinking I might have wasted about $4K on my set-up.Well by way of the Community, the issue was escalated and I received a call from Sonos. The tech was patient and walked through the steps necessary to fix the issue. I have to say that I am pleased and that my respect for the products has returned. Thanks guys.
It would be nice to be able to dedupe a playlist. Is it possible?
What is with all the community emails. Sudden bombbardment of emails, why? What happened?
He also might forgo a future bonus. Courage. Extended warranties are for soundbars and plugin speakers currently in warranty. Something about a quality ombudsman. Trigger warning - ~3 mins of Spence talking lol
I don’t know what category to put feedback about the community website, but starting today I’ve been receiving emails for every reply to community threads I’ve participated in, even though I’ve got them out of my favorites. The unsubscribe link in the emails doesn’t work. Just started today - I haven’t even logged in for ages and now I’m receiving an email every few minutes. Seems the community forum has a bug in the notification system.
I finally have to vent some frustration with this company. As a long time supporter, Beta tester, and user in general with thousands of dollars spent in product and many many hours of time spent helping fix bugs, dealing with issues and just not being happy with my purchases at this point I am ready to throw the towel in. I have nothing but problems with my S2 app and all of my new speakers. I still run a small system on S1 but rarely use it anymore because it has wiped my music services after having multiple issues there and it constantly wants me to perform an update to add back music services and the update can't be completed because of an error code that covers like 300 different issue. The lack of communication addressing these issues and not being properly taken care of as a long time customer and supporter is just ridiculous. I'm hoping that the company does something soon to fix these issues and make things right for us. I only have so much patience before I sell everything Son
First the email months, months after the debacle, and now a video with lofty promises of corporate yadda yadda yadda speak about how you won’t do it again. How does one process the anger? Patrick. Patrick. I was one of your best customers. I have been with Sonos since 2006. I have purchased thousands of dollars worth of your products. I evangelized your products to anyone who walked into my house. I was happy. I was about to go all-in on the Sonos home theater system. But you blew all of that up by forcing an unbelievably flawed and crappy app down my throat. Now I’m your worst customer. Yes, I’m still using my system, but only due to inertia. I’m going to try out Roon if I can ever find some free time. I won’t ever be purchasing another Sonos product. In the meantime, I’m waiting, waiting, waiting for the day when my long-lost music library album art will once again show up in my Sonos Android app. It’s nowhere to be found on your Trello board of “screwups-I-gotta-fix”. It never appea
What is a reasonable time for a reply from the time a problem is reported?
I do not understand what Sonos technical are playing at. Two weeks ago I noticed an improved performance and mistakenly thought they were getting on top of the problems with the new app (eg. unstable volume control). This week it has got much worse and I am constantly kicked off with a no product found message. I am lobbying my retailer to stop selling Sonos until they fix the fundamental faults in their product
I complained loudly with the introduction of the new app. Now, I’d like to thank Sonos for bringing my playlists back.
is this as good as the app will ever be? It's a frustrating chore to listen to music after the app update. Will it ever be fixed or is this the New Normal at Sonos?
Something good's been going on, and I can only guess that the Sonos servers have had some sort of upgrade in the last day or so. My PC apps (S1 and 2) have not changed; my Adroid S2 has been upgraded but S1 has not.My software is now S1 Android & PC 11.14, B 572150280. Speaker firmware 11.14, B 572151190S2 Android 80.09.04 20240917-6a714567 PC 16.3 B 80155014 Speaker firmware 16.3.3 B 80156190.There is some really good news for Android users - at least as seen through my system. Here's what I am now finding:-1. S1, both Android and PC, can now connect to and index my local library on a Synology NAS, neither of which which was possible last week. S2 has always been able to do this. The NAS runs SMBv1-3.2 S1, both Android and PC, can now see and display all the Album Art in the library. S2 can see it on the PC but still not in Android.3 S1, both Android and PC, groups Albums correctly. S2 continues to fail on this. While there is still a way to go with the S2 App, i
The only way we have to cast music from YouTube to Sonos is via the app… that is completelly garbage and useless - can’t even find a specific song I want to ear. This instead of giving us the option to just Cast (via Chromecast) directly to Sonos. I know you’re bickering with Google over some patents - or whatever - but guess what, your costumers doesn’t care about that. You’re degrading Android users experience just because you found a beef with Google. And that’s low… I bought a 400€+ soundbar that I can only play music via the stupid/useless app that I don’t want to. At least enable freaking bluetooth. Apple users are treated way different than Android ones and that’s not a good move. Because I don’t know if you know this, Sonos, but the resst of the world uses Android. I will definetelly not buy another Sonos product unless you add Chromecast. And I’m actually considering returning this one because of that. If you don’t care about Android users, why should I care for your brand?
I got a message asking me to take a screen snap and send it directly to the beta testing - but there appeared to be no link and I’m not sure why it woukd want a (meaningless) screen snap…help?
After MONTHS of the iOS app not working well, since you changed its architecture (I’m not talking about the design, I’m talking about the way it connects to the Internet) and following weeks of correspondence with your service level 2 team which cannot resolve the issue, as well as mails to that “CEO” email address, I thought it’s also good to give it a try here, maybe others also experience the problem: our Sonos system became USELESS since that iOS app update!! we can only control it via the computer application - which is insufficient. And we don’t accept your ‘blaming’ the Unifi switch, since it used to work with the prvious iOS app flawlessly!! Either you fix it with an app update ASAP, or we want our money back for each unit in your ‘lock-in’ system we bought. Awaiting your prompt update (as I’m awaiting it on the 1:1 communication with the support team), maybe this will trigger more action?
Not only has the POS CEO ruined a great company, he’s lost money for the shareholders and undermined the used market. At this point I have to assume he has intentionally devalued the company because a bigger corporation is entertaining a buyout and by driving down the value he will get a big kick back from the new buyers. Absolutely shameful example of “leadership”. Sonos shares slide as Morgan Stanley issues a double downgrade, slashes PT
My brother is over and we were reminiscing of the years when Sonos was a company that was awesome and special. I started talking about the efforts they used to put into their YouTube channel. Like the Rick Ruben interview, the sound testing videos and the various launch videos. I was truly bummed to see the “new” Sonos took it upon themselves to delete all the old videos. Seems like pretty unnecessary to delete the history of a company that some many people used to love. Anyone else have some old favourites that are now gone? The amp launch video really stands out in my mind right now. Just another example of how little this company cares about it’s last and it’s loyal users
The “new” Sonos is getting worse, not better. Every day, I encounter more and more drop-outs. Either speakers will cut out, or the entire system will go down. Or it stops playing and then runs through the queue, playing random bits of songs for a few seconds. The app hangs at the slightest thing. One improvement: it has stopped saying “Something went wrong” every time I press any button. I thought I could be patient while they work it out, but this is going the wrong direction. I’ve spent thousands of dollars on what I thought were top-tier products and service, then they hosed it. It’s unacceptable, and I’ve given up on calling Sonos support. They used to be so good! But they’re overwhelmed and can’t fix anything since they screwed the pooch. I’m just ranting because I have to. It’s cathartic, not constructive, sorry.

Morgan Stanley has given Sonos stock a double downgrade today. The downgrade was given due to the feedback and performance of the new crappy app. I stand by my post from 4 months ago. The new app decision will be what drags you down. I made the decision to invest in Sonos by buying your products. And now your shareholders are dumping you for your poor and incompetent business decisions. Well. I am doing research into other options to replace my Sonos investment.
I have Mac OS, upgraded to 16.3.3. the first time I launched software it worked. now local library not working. also iTunes music playlists not appearing - are they working on this?
