I have been looking at the upgrade program to change from my Beam Gen 2 to the new Arc Ultra. After contacting Sonos customer services, they said that the Beam Gen 2 was not in the program yet and all my other Sonos products were too new.

I just do not see Sonos' logic here. It is like they are punishing the customer who has invested recently into their ecosystem, but only reward customers that do not.

They would not even offer any discount on the new item.

It is incredibly disappointing that they treat their customers like this after all the issues we have had to go through with their App recently as well!

This is one reason why I won't be using any more Sonos products anytime soon.

Whilst sympathising with you that your current products don’t yet qualify, I’d also ask: how many manufacturers offer an upgrade program at all? And there is a discount for pre-orders, I believe.

There is no standard discount for pre orders on their website that I have seen.

You have to remember that the upgrade program is their way of keeping people in their ecosystem and I do not believe for one second that they do it without maintaining their profit margins.

If you don’t have any eligible products, one of the easiest ways to get a 15% upgrade credit is by buying a 2nd hand Bridge and register it on the S1 app. These are often sold in job lots so you can potentially obtain multiple upgrade credits for minimal outlay.
