I have been a Sonos user for a long time and I have seen the Sonos app evolve over time. This latest rendition is absolutely terrible. It is clunky, it is not user friendly, accessing and adjusting settings for different devices miserable and searching for music is a pain and when you find what you want, it often does not work.

 

The whole reason I purchased Sonos years ago was to have all of my music devices connected and streamlined in one app on my phone. now that I have a number of Sonos devices, I am now stuck using it. 

 

Today I wanted to listen to pandora in my kitchen and sure enough, it wont work. I select the playist I want to listen to and nothing happens. Having to navigate the terrible UI for the app only for it not to work (again) was so frustrating that I created a Sonos account just to complain about it. I am at the point now where I want to just sell all my Sonos products, take the loss and start over with something compeltely new. 

 

Please Sonos, listen to everyone in the Sonos community. Can you find a single good thing someone has said about the new app? I have been actively warning people away from Sonos products because of this. Please for gods sake roll back the old app and fix this one.

What do you mean by playing music doesn’t work? Do you get an error message or are you struggling to select the speaker you want to play it on? 


Agreed, this app is horrible, even after they supposedly fixed some things. It is not intuitive at all, doesn’t let you pick the room you want to play the music in, you have to go back and unselect the default room (I think it sorts alphabetically). Sonos would be so much better if they brought the S2 app back until they get this one right. Otherwise, I’m tempted to put all of my Sonos speakers on ebay and replace the system with Bose.

If you swipe up your rooms from the bottom, select a room, then music choices will play in that room.


Terrible is pretty charitable.

I would call it a smoking pile of dog s***.
