Hi! Recenlty I came across an issue where Spotify Connect would only work with my Amazon Alexa Sonos speaker, and no other Sonos speaker. I figured out how to get it to work, so I am now sharing it with the rest of you:The symptoms are: If you try to use Spotify to play to any other Speaker than an Amazon Alexa speaker via Spotify Connect it will see the speakers and the try to connect, eventually stopping with a time out error. With the Amazon Alexa speaker it will play perfectly fine. Potential root cause: The Spotify’s magic. i.e., the certificate which is supposed to be replicated across all Sonos speakers is incorrect. The Amazon Alexa certificate is probably being offered for Spotify, which is incorrect *except* when it comes to the Amazon Alexa enabled speaker. Solution:Remove the Sonos Skill from Amazon Alexa. See: Turn Alexa skills on or off Open the Spotify app, play music and connect to a Sonos speaker via Spotify Connect that you couldn’t play to previously. Confirm you can
I would love to get your suggestions for speaker choices. I am focusing on two spaces, both rectangular without any interior walls: an open-concept space (kitchen/dining/living), 14ft x 25ft with 10ft ceilings [4.3m x 7.6m x 3m] a home office, 14ft x 14ft with 9ft ceilings [4.3m x 4.3m x 2.7m] I listen to a lot of music (mostly EDM, downtempo, R&B, lo-fi) and a fair amount of podcasts. Based on what I've read so far, I might want some combination of Era 100, Era 300 and/or Five for the two spaces. For the larger space (350sqft / 32sqm), I could place one speaker at either end of the space, both facing toward the center. Or I could place one speaker closer to the center along a wall. What would you think of:2x Era 100, with or without mini Sub 2x Era 300 1x Five 2x FiveFor the smaller space (200sqft / 18sqm), would 1x Era 100 along a wall be sufficient to fill the room with sound and not feel that it is just coming from one direction? Would 2x Era 100 be recommended? What about 1x
Sonos f***ed-up my S1 system. I do not have any post-2020 speakers, just old ones, circa 2016. Overnight (via automatic update?), all of my old Play 1’s (six in total) that were powered on at the time disappeared from the S1 controller. I tried to add them back: no dice. Then I factory reset them and was told that they were no longer s1 compatible and had to install s2 controller and “downgrade” them back to s1. WTF?! So far the downgrade has NOT worked and I’ve been in an endless loop of frustration. I’m a scientist and fairly digital savvy, but not a high-end IT dude. This is effing ridiculous, and SONOS needs to get its programming act together so average users can readily fix this SONOS f***up.And . . . WHY have you shut down all the threads with people posting about this issue? It looks like you’re trying to sweep it under the rug, which is not a good look.PLEASE FIX THIS SO YOUR CUSTOMERS CAN USE YOUR FRIGGIN’ PRODUCTS.
My question is this: If the Arc Ultra is 9.1.4 by itself what is the configuration/classification if I’ve added two Era 300’s and a Sub?
I have trouble understanding dialog in movies. I would like to use the new Ace headphones while my wife listens through the sound bar. Is it possible to use both at the same time?
Hello. I've always used traditional passive speakers with an integrated amplifier, but recently, I've become fascinated by wireless speakers. While browsing online, I was drawn to the Sonos Five, and I'm considering purchasing a pair. However, today I came across numerous negative reviews about the Sonos app for Android, citing issues such as connectivity problems, volume control malfunctions, and more. For me, these issues would be unacceptable in a wireless speaker. I’ve read that some of these problems have been fixed, but when spending over 1000 euros on a pair of Fives, I expect a stable connection and a fully functional Android app. What’s the situation like in 2025 according to your experience?
Hi I have a play 5 gen2 that is dead ”no light, no sound, nothing”When I disassemled the speaker and took out the powerboard pcb it has 3 big resistors that was BURNED ”R2483, R2482, R2496” And futher inspection I saw other components that was burned ”R12”, R106, R108, D3, U2, Mosfet transistor So I started to investigate what these components does and what values it has, I searched in this forum, groups on facebook and other forums but only found the value of ”R2483, R2482, R2496,R108” And the mosfet transistor got text on it so I could identify it The rest of components I took help of chatGPT to find values of, arter HOURS of talk with it and many datasheets -R2483, R2482, R2496 is 0,3 OHM | 0,5W | 1206 Format | Current sensing resistor-Mosfet is a 65E6600 (Main switching mosfet)-U2 is a NCP1937B1G | A controller IC to controll the gate of the mosfet with PWM trought pin 14-R12 is calculated to 0,36 OHM | Current sensing resistor | 0,125W | 0402 Format-R106 is calculated to be betwe
What’s the latest on any support (official or otherwise) for playback of music mixed in 5.1 via .m4a files?I have tried copying some of the content to my Sonos library and then tried a library update, but it still doesn’t show up.Am I out of luck?
If the Arc Ultra is 9.1.4 by itself what is the configuration/classification if I’ve added two Era 300’s and a Sub?
Which TVs support automatic lip sync with the ARC Ultra. (I just bought the Arc Ultra and now I am trying to buy a TV to fit it! The contenders WERE the 98” Samsung, Sony, LG and TCLs. None support anything other than “Manual” sync adjustment --- Bad solution, lip sync is different on every network, channel and device.I am a perfect customer: Sonos Arc Ultra first, now go find a TV! Please support my support! Post a list.Instead of working backward one TV at a time, can you supply a list of the above and then I will buy one.I am going on about 20 hours of research, not 1 TV claims that Automatic Lip Sync is a feature supported. Don’t use CoPilot for this question! It is the first time that I have seen CoPilot get a question of mine wrong!!!
Kann ich einen Kopfhörer in mein Sonos System einbinden und damit den Ton aus dem Fernseher parallel hören?
Hi, I have a beam, ones and sub for the lounge - I understand the surround setup and how sonos works pretty well. But I also have a Move that I was planning to put in our new open plan kitchen to connect to the TV in there for listening to the TV and music. Can I just check with someone; if I connect a new beam to the dining room tv via HDMI, I can group the sound coming from the TV to the move in the kitchen (beam and move playing the same sound)? In addition to that I know (99% sure) I can also send the lounge 5.1 sound to the kitchen should I wish. Thanks in advance.
Hello dear community.I am coming from a full Beam 2 setup with Ones and Sub 3. Got Ultra a week ago and would like to share a few thoughts/questions. I will not get into the details but had to sell my full Beam setup some time ago and Ultra standalone is my new toy :) Has OG Arc always been so “trebly”?Treble on the Ultra seems to be very pronounced. Depends on the content of course but sometimes it is almost sibilant with Trueplay or not. For reference - i just got single Era 300, put it in the same room, same place. I had to dial treble on the Ultra to - 6 for it to sound like Era 300 on defaults. Don’t get me wrong i love treble and i even add a few notches on my car stereo but this is excessive. My room is not an echo chamber either.Does adding a Sub and full set of rears help with sound signature on the Arc?This is very surprising, never had it with Beam.Trueplay.Quick tune is awesome, really. Rounds up Ultra, tightens up the bass, all good. But Advanced sounds awful. My MLP is ag
Hi, I have a Sonos ray connected to 2x Sonos era100 connected as surround sound the rear audio continues to stutter I have changed distance settings as found in other posts which makes no difference is there something simple that I’m missing?
I’ve noticed that when my Sonos Roam is connected via Bluetooth on iOS/iPadOS, the Sonos app doesn’t display any battery information. It works fine when connected over Wi-Fi, and I can see the battery percentage there, but nothing shows up in the app when using Bluetooth. Is this a known issue, or is there something I need to configure differently? Has anyone else experienced this on iOS or iPadOS? Any tips or workarounds would be great!
The latest App update (ios 80.14.09) still hasn’t fixed the nightmare that you can’t switch between speakers. Why have you removed such an important part of the app. It is now so cumbersome to do it, and then if you’ve initiated music from other app (such as Spotify) you don’t have a chance of controlling your own system. Help!!
Songs from Plex and Bandcamp can be added to SONOS Favorites, but they are immediately greyed out there.Meanwhile Album from Plex and Bandcamp work fine; Songs from Apple Music seem working ok too.
How much longer must we suffer?! This app is garbage! The old app actually let you control volume with the one buttons! Amazing! The old app let you see what was playing on the screen! Amazing! The new app barely functions! Unacceptable! The volume is glitchy, the interface has too many layers, the app is not intuitive, and on and on!It’s been months and nothing has been resolved! Terrible company!
We bought our 1st Sonos product, the ARC Ultra and wondered if it is OK to not wall mount.
I was wondering if it’s possible to add a pair of Sonos Ones to my existing home theater setup. I currently have the below 3.1 setup, ideally I’d like to add the pair of Ones for a 5.1Current setup - Sonos Arc, Amp (powering 2 rear Sonos in ceiling speakers), Sonos SubIf it is possible, how do I add it to the existing setup via the app? The app makes it seem as if I can only add additional in ceilings (see attached screenshot). If it’s not possible, would adding an additional pair of in ceilings be the path of least resistance for what I’m looking to achieve?
volume setting of roams is difficult. If the volume of one is changing, the complete system is also influated
Kan ik de app Anytune koppelen met een sonos one luidspreker.
I have a Play 5 Gen 1 speaker for my garden. I have to play it through the S1 App on my Android phone on a separate network. I also have a Play 1 and Arc using my S2 App on an iPad. The Play 5 worked well for most of 2024, but started suggesting I update before Christmas. I have set it to not receive updates as instructed by Sonos. It will now not let me connect to my music services unless I update. Why am I receiving suggestions to update?Has it suddenly become compatible with S2.How do Zi break out of this mess - other than the obvious. Thanks
Hi all! Hope to get some guidance. In essence, I've inherited one Sonos Play 1 speaker and two Play 3. I'd like to connect them to work as speakers for my TVs, which is one Philips from 2019 and a Samsung the Frame from 2023.Is it possible to connect the speakers directly to the TVs? As I've tried to read up on this, it seems like I need a soundbar to go with the speakers, but I'm not sure.. From what I understand as well, the Frame does not have the right "line out" which is needed to connect via cable. All advice here is highly appriciated!
Going to buy a soundbar.Sonos Playbar vs Sonos Beam Gen 2. Is there a big difference in the sound of these two? What would you choose? I can buy a used Playbar for around 300 euros or a new beam gen 2 for 370 euros. I'm going to buy 2 Sonos one/play one and a sub.
