Hello,

I am trying to get sound playing through my Beam gen1 connecting a karaoke reciever hdmi out plug.

no sound is coming throught.

Connecting my headphones to the jack output, sound is on… Reciever is getting sound either from my phone or my TV.

Do you know if what I want to do is feasible ?

any advice ?

FYI in case this could Help the set up I have a Samsung Frame which is usually connected to the HDMI arc.

Do you know if the karaoke machine outputs audio through the HDMI? It may simply be for video.

What is the model number of the karaoke machine?

A regular HDMI connection is not supported. The connection must be HDMI-ARC or HDMI-eARC.

In general, we don’t recommend attempting to use SONOS for karaoke because there is a time delay inherent in the SONOS system. This time delay will frustrate everyone.

Thanks this is clear! And unfortunate 😭

All my speakers are sonos… so cannot have some karaoke entertainment then 😖

This is Rybozen digital vocal mixer with dual wireless microphones.

Looking at pictures of this Rybozen, doesn’t your have an HDMI out, that should connect to a TV? If so you could connect the Beam to the HDMI-ARC on the TV and the Rybozen to another HDMI.

Indeed - there is both hdmi in and hdmi out.

so ideal set up would be:

  • TV plugged in as audio input into Reciever HDMI in (the same plug that’s usually going into my bean)
  • then connecting the Reciever HDMI out into the Beam

Connecting Back to the TV would prevent using tv as audio input 🤨
