Hello,One of my rooms has an older TV that lacks EARC/ARC. I’m going to be upgrading the TV sometime this year, but the soundbar I was using with it died. I was going to buy an Arc Ultra with the new TV but now I’m considering getting an the Ultra early but I would have to use it with the HDMI to Optical adapter temporarily until I purchased a new TV. I know the Arc Ultra will work over Optical, just be limited to Compressed 5.1.My question is in regards to the speakers. If using Optical and only getting Compressed 5.1, will is still use all the speakers in the Ultra? For example, will the up-firing speakers just not produce any sound at all if the Ultra is receiving a 5.1 signal, or will they duplicate sound from one of the front channels? Thanks.
Have existing in ceiling speakers in two different rooms (2 speakers in each room). The speaker wires terminate in a media cabinet. I bought a Sonos amp to drive the speakers and can now use the Sonos app to listen to music on these speakers. I also have a turntable in the living room that I want to listen to on these speakers. I bought a Sonos port and connected the turntable to it via rca jacks, line in. I tried to Group the port and amp but I can’t get the turntable sound from any of the speakers. Am I close to a solution?
how to connect sonus one SL to android phone
I have an Arc Ultra with 300 surrounds and a G2 Sub. I’ve done Trueplay twice, but the sound coming out of the Ultra is being overwhelmed by the surrounds. The best way to explain it is almost like the Ultra is trying to scream in its sleep but barely anything comes out. I don’t want to play with any of the EQs (though I see nothing specifically related to the soundbar there) because then it feels like I’d be offsetting the Trueplay. Why is this happening? I had an Arc in this setup before and never noticed this issue. It’s almost like the Ultra went for dialogue quality and messed up the mix.
I use a Sanos Era100 for my PC sound. When switching screen or even low sound results in the speaker switching off/standby mode type. Is there away to just have it on as normal all the time? Thanks,.
HelloI have sonos sub mini and sonos sub gen.2. I want to change this between my to tv rooms. Do they have the same power cable so I only can switch theese two units? And not take the cables down the wall.
Good afternoon. I have a Sonos Move that just stopped working. Has this happened to anyone? Sonos tells me that it is out of warranty, but it is incredible that such an expensive device stops working when the warranty ends.
I have albums where 2 or more tracks segue into each other. In iTunes they are separate songs but when Sonos imports them it imports as separate songs but also, separately, as groups. When played back I get the same songs twice. I can’t see how to stop Sonos doing this nor can I see how to just delete the rogue groups.
hello,i have recently bough a sonos arc and 2 sonos Era 100 for my living room and kitchen.i have an open area with the kitchen and the living room.the area of the living room (about 45 sqm) has the TV with the sonos ARC and 2 sonos era 100. I would like to improve the whole room (living room+kitchen) but i don´t know what is the best option.may be +2 Era100 in the area of the kitchen?may be +1 sonos five in the area of the kitchen????I don´t have for the moment a sub, and i´m not thinking in one, because the sound is great only with the ARC + 2ERA100.and i don´t have them as surround, may be it´s also a mistake.i use it more for music than for films. thanks in advance for your ideas !!
I have a 75” Roku tv in my medium sized bedroom. Wondering if the arc ultra provides enough bass and will fill the room as a standalone. If I’m going to end up needing a sub I’d likely go with the beam 2 with sub mini. But I like the idea of a single unit, as well as the aesthetics of the bigger bar with that size TV. Thanks!
I’m running an LG C9 with a Panasonic UB820 Blu-ray player, Sonos Arc + Sub gen 3 + One SL surrounds. The lack of DTS support on the Arc has been frustrating for non Dolby encoded Blu-ray discs, so I have been eagerly awaiting the multichannel PCM update. It’s finally arrived (thanks, Sonos!) and I tried playing a DTS encoded Blu-ray and… no dice. Still stereo PCM 2.0. Has anyone running a similar set-up managed to get 5.1 PCM output from the Arc?The C9 supports eARC and multichannel PCM, I’m using 48gbps HDMI cables that support up to 8k60Hz, all of the devices are up to date, I have the C9 set to PCM with eArc enabled, DTS output set to PCM on the UB820… I’m really at a loss here. Any ideas or suggested settings?
Sonos Build 80.14.06-release-20241206.affe3deWhen selecting the system the alarm should play on, a user should be able to select a group. This is distinct from selecting a single room with “Include Grouped Rooms”.
OMG ONCE AGAIN SONOS UPDATE CAUSES WASTED TIME AND DOESNT WORK, DO NOT USE.
This has happened multiple times with the app. Watching on apple tv - Netflix or whichever app will randomly say ‘no content’ and I cannot control the volume through the app. It is a major pain. My Bluetooth is on and wifi is fine.
HiUpdated 02/07/25 to reflect changes in Sonos app in Step 5.Here‘s a simple way to move from Arc to Arc Ultra; by the numbers assuming you have a stable system/network:Update your router Update your device Update the Sonos app (which may require a delete and reinstall) Upon re-install of the App (if necessary) select “Join an existing system” and sign-in with your credentials when prompted. In the app select the Cog Wheel in upper right corner to display “System Settings”. Scroll down to “General Settings” then scroll down to “System Updates” and select “Check for Updates”. Run Install if an update is available . In the room (inside the app) for the Arc remove sub(s) and surrounds * Do Not Factory Reset subs or surrounds Unplug the Arc and set it aside Plug-in your Arc Ultra (the LED should flash Green after a few seconds) Open the app and select “Add a Product” and it should find the Arc Ultra ** Setup the Arc Ultra as a stand-alone unit with room name. This includes connecting to
Hello, After spending a lot of money on SONOS, among other things, for its advertising of ease of use and versatility... looking for a solution for my need, I found the unpleasant surprise that there is no possible solution: you cannot "easily switch" your pair of Sonos ERA 300 to use them in a home cinema system and in another stereo. How can this be possible in 2025? Does SONOS plan to meet this demand at some point or is it not even considering it? Thanks
Couldn't find any package by regex 'unoffical-sonos-controller-for-linux-master.zip'I’m getting this error when trying to install on Mint
Hello,I am trying to figure out what would be the best speaker solution for my bathroom, which gets much ‘steamy’. I am currently between Roam 2 and Era 100, but I would appreciate any ideas and suggestions. V
Hi everyone,I am completely novice, so I would appreciate your advice, on something that may seem trivial: I’m considering what my future setup should be and need some advice. Can a Roam 2, an Era 100, and an Era 300 be connected so they can all play the same music simultaneously? Each speaker would be in a different room.If it’s possible, is the synchronization seamless? Are there any limitations I should be aware of when using these models together? Thanks in advance for your help!V
Hello my sonos sub gen 3 is rattling like something is loose Can anybody help please
Until a month ago or so, the iPhone remote app worked wonders. I could both control the Apple TV and adjust the volume, with the side-buttons on the phone. The Apple TV 4K-remote still controls the volume just fine, but the iPhone app no longer works.I seem to find a ton of threads with the same problem - or at least sort of. It seems that the Apple TV-remote (not the app) is the main problem. Just not for me. It’s the iPhone Remote-app.And yes, I’ve tried restarting the Apple TV-remote (holding volume-down and control button for 5 seconds and waiting for restart)...
I have a Roam 2 speaker, and I’d like to use its wake-up function to play every day around 7 a.m. However, I don’t want to keep it on the wireless charger overnight, even at full battery, as I’m concerned about preserving the battery health. The issue is that the alarm doesn’t go off consistently. It works when the speaker is on, connected to my phone, and set a minute ahead for testing. But when I leave it overnight, the alarm fails to go off, and the device doesn’t appear in the Sonos app in the morning. Is there a way to ensure the alarm works without having to keep it constantly on the charger or connected?
Background: I have a Sonos One speaker set up in my toddler’s room to play white noise throughout the night. I found a playlist on Spotify that has worked perfectly for the past two years, and I play the playlist through the Sonos app. but suddenly beginning last month I’ve had a recurring issue.Problem: Sometime in the middle of the night (after 6ish hours) the Sonos speaker will stop playing the white noise playlist, and start playing whatever song I last listened to on Spotify. Let’s say that, in the middle of the day away from home, while driving, I used Spotify on my phone to play some songs in my car. Later at night after I start the white noise through the Sonos app it makes it through 5-6 hours, but then suddenly stops playing the white noise and switches to whatever the last song I listened to when I was driving around. Understandibly this wakes up my kid, so I run into the room with my phone and open the sonos app. I try to connect to the One speaker to start the white noise
After working fine suddenly I can’t load the S2 Controller due to the “Unable to load pcdcr.dll” error.Running Windows 11 on an MS Surface Pro so ARM 64 processor.Have uninistalled (and deleted any remaining Sonos inc folders as advised in previous solutions) but it won’t work.Does anyone have any ideas?
