I have been issues with Beam 2 and my Series X and I believe I have identified the problem. While playing Rivals, I noticed that the sound of footsteps either absent or very faint, and this issue is in many other games as well. It appears that when I face away from, the footsteps and other sounds are much louder and more detailed. However, when I face enemies, their footsteps and other sounds are silent or barely audible. It has been 2 years now i have tried everything reset equipment even sent beam back and replaced changed  hdmi leads etc nothing works. App says atmos but no directional audio and most sounds are very quiet unless above 60% and then the sounds that were audible at 30% now are so loud half the street and hear it.

Edit:

btw when i turn away i have directional audio. This is just games btw if i say watch a game that i own on you tube it sounds perfect atmos even simulates the directional audio quite well.

Hi @Minetot619,

I’m sorry to hear you’re having issues with your Beam connected to your Xbox.

I see you have an existing thread on this topic, which I’ll link below. Did you follow the steps listed in the last reply from my colleague? If so, did you contact support after? If you have a case number from reaching out, please let me know so I can look into what you’ve done with them.

done all steps reset stuff multiple times all the settings are correct on xbox tv and sonos app. It is such an odd situation the beam plays sound to low to high and back to front on xbox games. It is so odd no other people are having this issue infact eveyone says the beam 2 is awsome for xbox etc. Btw please understand my issue is not quality of audio it is the beam is not playing the correct sounds. Like on my marvel rivals foot step sounds only when i face away that is backwards.

also got new cables no difference.
