Another complete round of hardware and software updates today. Including Ace update. At least everything updated on the first pass and EQ settings were not auto-reset, so maybe Sonos deserves a little credit.

Unfortunately this update still does not reflect deployment of TrueCinema on the Ace. And I see no changes to the UI on iOS.

Maybe there's something for others and Android users....

You are literally the only poster here complaining about a lack of True Cinema.  I’m not sure that does your case much good.

My apologies to the OP.  It appears there are now two posters complaining about a lack of True Cinema.

What's your point?

You're right. This is the only place in the entire interweb that anyone discusses Sonos.

There’s no case to be made. Sonos promised this feature but hasn’t delivered.

My point is the that number of posters complaining about this missing feature is infinitesimally small compared to those complaining about other issues that should probably be higher on Sonos’ “to do” list.

I thought I was quite clear on that point, but I guess I was not.

Your point is it doesn't matter to you, so ipso facto it's unimportant to the entire community.

The real point is that Ace hasn't sold anywhere close to what Sonos projected and future production cut significantly, so their abandoning promised product improvements isn't much of a stretch.

Not what I said at all, so please don’t put words in my mouth.  I’m saying it apparently isn’t important to many in the community, because the number of complaints about this issue are dwarfed by the complaints about countless other issues.  So unless you go on a gigantic sock puppet campaign, I’m afraid my analysis stands.

And by the way, as an Ace owner, it is important to me.  I’m just willing to be patient due to the other far more pressing problems Sonos seems to have at this time.

I’ll avoid the back and forth here on how important the feature is to users and Sonos with this simple statement: Sonos promised Ace purchasers with TrueCinema. Now, 6 months later, at the very least an update on the status would be expected and a very minimal ask.

So SONOS IF YOU ARE LISTENING - just give us an honest update on when/if TrueCinema is coming out. The least you can do given all of us early adopters of your Headphone. We could’ve easily waited to buy the headphones, but we trusted you and believed in your new product and what you promised it can do.

Just a simple update.

I've chatted with Sonos support, and in a separate post with a response by Sonos, they confirm it's still being worked on, but don't provide a new target date.

One hopes they're getting close but personally I won't be surprised if it permanently hits the dustbin of unkept marketing promises.

Really appreciate you taking the time to write me back. I hope you’re wrong, suspect you might be right.

Who is the voucher that thinks because Truecinema isn't important to him, it shouldn't be for anyone else? Sounds like a real narcissistic clown

Nobody said anything of the sort.  As was said earlier in the thread, do not put words in other people’s mouths.

As was said earlier in this thread, "you are literally the only poster complaining" referencing the dropping of the ball on Truecinema. Which is a complete lie, and as a result really don't care what you have tobsay after being caught in a lie. Take your story walking.

At the time of his posting, he was the only one complaining in this or the other thread.  And as soon as someone else posted, I corrected myself.

I echo the disappointment regarding the silence surrounding True Cinema.  If I remember correctly it seemed to be a big selling factor at launch of the Ace.  I was aware when I ordered mine that it was ‘coming soon’ and I almost held off until it was launched.

I mainly use the Ace for watching movies when my family are in bed and hoped it would make a good job of replicating my arc, sub and era 300 setup.  Overall I would say it does a produce a good experience for movies but could be far more ‘spacious’ and doesn't compare to my arc setup.

Unless I’m missing something I can't see any mention of True Cinema when viewing the Ace on the Sonos site anymore.

I fear it has been scraped and those of us that did consider it a factor in our purchase will continue to be short changed by Sonos.

Nothing would surprise me at this point.

How about a small mouse with a cold nose in your left earcup?

We can call it TrueCinema and move on...

There's a library of recorded Live video sessions. Here's a link to the Ace-focused video from June 2024. A relatively detailed discussion of TrueCinema starts around 14 minutes. I was messaged in December from a forum monitor quasi Sonos rep that they're still working on it, but I don't have much hope.

What is a ‘forum monitor quasi Sonos rep’?

One of the forum monitors?

Only Sonos folks here are clearly identified in their user information.

Where they are varies, you might check their profile data to see if that is shown.

If you mean why haven't they responded to you, possibly they have nothing new to say.
