Yes it can, all Sonos speakers can be paired, the staff at Sonos are clueless contract paid idiots. You can pair any Sonos speaker in the app. Lots of misinformation online about it. I have $15k worth of Sonos speakers and they all pair.
I have a pair of Play:1 and Five with a turntable connected to Five's line-In. It plays perfectly on Five but when I group Five with one (or both) of Play:1 it continues playing only on Five although that mini-equaliser shows that it's playing everywhere. What's wrong?
Odd issue occurring in the past couple of weeks or so. I play something on a speaker with my iPad, for example in my kitchen. Then want to continue listening in a different room, for example “bedroom” so select the new room and deselect “kitchen” and press done. Playing begins in the other room, but continues to play in the kitchen despite the fact that it is not now a selected room. Pressing stop in playback has no effect on the kitchen speaker neither does exiting the app altogether, playback just continues in my example, my kitchen. The only way I can stop it is to mute this speaker and continue playback in the bedroom. Unmute the kitchen speaker and it’s still playing there despite not being a selected speaker!I have only used the two rooms as examples of what happened this morning. Over the past couple of weeks it’s happening with other rooms as well.Anyone any advice as it’s really annoying? Thanks.
Dear Community,I’ve to admit that I’m now struggling deeply about a decision to take, and I hope your advices will help me to go forward.I’m trying for years to combine a good HT sound system with a beamer, and simultaneously have a good Hifi system. The reality is that it is very difficult to mix 2 types of systems together:- a good « classical Hifi system (preamp/streaming, amp, 2 LR speakers, cabled)- A HT sound system with surround, etc- A beamer, and not a TV.It seems obvious to use a AV amp for the HT system and beamer, but it has to be connected to the Hifi system to use the speakers, and it doesn’t offer the surround sound, without cabling rear speakers, which isn’t a solution in my context.BUT… if you take profit of the very good quality of the hifi system, you need to manage the volume separately, and to have decent HT system, you need to provide a center speaker. Not counting the remotes for the amp, the preamp, the AV amp, the TV and ATV, the BD player, etc. A nightmare, at
Getting frustrated already with my new purchase Sonos home theatre package. The centre channels are a nightmare to get right with no volume control for the speakers on the sounbar. Will this ever be fixed?
Hi allIm having trouble getting my Sonos ARC to learn the IR signal from Benq projector remote for volume control. It will learn it when the projector is switched off and can be used to control music etc but as soon as the projector is switched on the signal appears to be blocked by the remote as small block sign appears on screen. Ive tried everything but no luck. It would be great if I could control the ARC volume with the projector remote when I am playing movies/TV etc. It is connected via HDMI eARC an CEC is switched on. Any ideas?
Does anyone know how to connect the Samsung One Remote control to the Sonos Playbar so that I can control the volume of the playbar? I tried various ways but can’t get it to work.... I read the the playbar has IR whereas the Samsung remote control has RF but nevertheless there seems to be a way to make them connect. Hope someone can share the ultimate solution for this issue with me!!
Hi all,I’m about to become a new Sonos user and looking for some advice on how best to integrate a pair of wired passive speakers (Dynaudio Evoke 20s) into the Sonos system. My choice seems to come down to either (1) buying the Sonos Amp; or (2) buying the Sonos Port plus a new Hi Fi amp.The store that is helping me is suggesting option 2 on the basis that it will produce better sound. The amp they have recommended is the Rega Elex-R, with the comment that the speakers will sound better “with the extra power”.From what I can tell (and I am new at this), the Sonos Amp looks to have plenty of power. So my real question is: is there any benefit spending more money on Option 2 … whether in terms of sound quality or (perhaps) functionality?I don’t mind spending the extra money if it will produce a better result, but also don’t want to be dumb. This is for the main music listening area in a new house (no TV required) and it will be primarily streaming services (Spotify or Tidal), although I ma
I recently bought the 4K Apple TV and the remote volume function is not working, it says ‘not available’ every time I use it no matter what application I’m in. All the other buttons seem to function correctly. What could be wrong?
I have 5 x Play 2 (Generation 1).The S1 now longer allows connection to my Synology NAS.What do I do with them? Or is there a way round the problem?
Hi guys,I'm Adam, new to the forum and wanted to say HELLO 🙋I'm interested in the Sonos Move and would be interested to know how frequently the discount codes come round and at what rate of discount? Thanks
Can we please get some View options? This player is anything but a “mini player.” I don’t need or want to see all those options, or all that blank area there. It is super frustrating that I can’t make that window smaller. I would like it to minimise into something that showed only What’s Playing, Play/Pause/ FF, & RW. Anyone else? Thanks!

Do ROAM speakers have a tracking feature? Mine was stolen off my golf cart while inside the clubhouse. Surely if someone tries to activate it in their system, it should be known to SONOS based on the serial #? Any ideas? (Excuse typo in subject)
What do the 13.1.1, 13.1.2 and 13.1.3 Sonos S2 App updates include? I am asking because Sonos does not clarify these updates. Thanks in advance for any answers
So I picked up a new Roam today and having a hard time understanding this whole Bluetooth/Wifi handoff procedure. Everything I’ve read is that if you’re listening to Roam on Wifi and then venture outside your Wifi reach then Roam will “seamlessly” and “without user interaction” switch over to Bluetooth. Ok, but what will it be playing? When I’m on wifi I’m streaming music through the Sonos S2 app. Once out of wifi the Sonos app loses connection and is no longer available as a streamer. I need to switch to another app such as Apple Music or Tidal. Also, when I switched the Roam intentionally to Bluetooth and stream to it via Apple Music I can still group it with my Sonos wifi speakers (cool trick) but the swap feature doesn’t seem to work. That only seems to work if I’m playing wifi content. Similarly, if I’m Airplaying music to the Roam I am unable to use the Swap feature. I’m very confused about what to expect from these features. If anyone can shed some light I’d really appreciate
I use a Samsung TU8000 Crystal UHD TV to play music and movies (Plex, Spotify, myRadio, etc.) and television (Foxtel, free-to-air). I'm wondering how to get the the settings right - so I can listen to music AND television without having to adjust levels through the Sonos app each time? Does the app assume a separate source for music and television? My problem is that TV is very loud with inconsistent intensity. But, if I turn this level down, my music and movies suffer. Is there another way, or am I simply missing something. Cheers
Sonos has stopped working with my Synology NAS because NTLMv2 is not supported. Can pressure be put on Sonos?
Twice in the last month my sub & both rear speakers have disconnected. Instead of listing the sub & two speakers are listed with "?".All I can do is disconnect them & reattach them. Both times it was right after the Android app updated.
I have searched for this in various ways and haven’t found a solution. When I am on Sonos app on iPhone, I am trying to control individual volume of a room when grouped. I touch the volume slider for the group and the individual rooms will reveal themselves above the group slider. Before I can slide volume of an individual room, the sliders collapse back to the group volume slider. They pop up, I try to quickly select the slider for a room but over half the time it collapses again before I can make a change. I have tried on different iPhones and an iPad with same problem. The desktop on my iMac works fine but sometimes I need to adjust individual room from iPhone app.I have restarted app multiple times, deleted app and reloaded, restarted Sonos system, and so far nothing fixes the problem. Please help.
I’m using Qobuz now and “I think” it sounds better when using Qobuz app then Airplay to SONOS ARC. I know it’s what you feel but which way is better…SONOS APP TO QOBUZ OR QOBUZ VIA AIRPLAY?
I’m new to the community. I purchased my ark and Sonos sub last week and I am extremely pleased with it. I am using a Sony 65X 900 F Tv and an Xbox one for my 4K player. I am using the same cables I used on my older receiver system which was functioning with Atmos. I have seen online that my Sony TV had a firmware update that supports E arc or at least changed it to support it I have already contacted Sonos on this problem and Sony they are telling me the TV will do a pass-through of Atmos but only 5.1 whatever that means I figured Atmos is 7.1. Now when I use the demo in the Xbox one in Atmos it shows up on my app as it’s playing Atmos But nowhere else. Now for my new problem today I’m trying to watch a 4K HD the movie and there’s no volume I have the Xbox set on bistream out Because the 7.1 option does not work because it says that the TV is not capable of handling it and under the advanced setting I have it set on pass-through. I can only get audio through the Sonos if I put the TV
Hi there team. Have searched but hard to find out the exact answer. I am 90% finished on a new home build. I have prewired speaker cable to in ceiling sonos speakers (2x in tv room & 2 in dining room) back to one amp.I have an Arc sound bar in tv room.I want to be able to play the audio from the tv throughout the whole house and also play music from the sonos s2 app when the tv is not powered on. Assuming this is possible if they’re all grouped together? Also when playing music through the app, will music play through the sound bar too or only through the in ceiling speakers. Sorry if this is a little vague. Cheers
Since I only found posts about this topic from a year ago or older, I wanted to check if there has been any progress for volume normalization when using a third party app (in my case Spotify). The setting for it in the Spotify app is only applied on the device youre changing it on. Because those settings are not accessible in the Sonos app, there is no way to set it for my brand new Sonos setup (neither through Spotify nor Sonos). The result is that the volume of the music varies frequently; often just slightly, but regularly its very noticeable. It happens often enough to degrade the user experience considerably.
Hi friends I'm in doubt about two projectors to simply watch 3D movies.Epson 2250 at best buy for $799 vs Epson 5030UB for 700$ With recent replaced lamp on a used page. who wins this fight?(with a blu-ray..and HDFury Arcana adapter for Sonos arc.) I like the Epson brand image I know there are other brands with more modern projectors but I love the balance of contrast and brightness of Epson the sharpness of the images sometimes makes you think it's 4k. so I am willing to pay a reasonable price for an old 3D projector. I don't want to buy a modern projector from another brand and not be happy with the image quality. I know that each person has a different style for the brands. I already have a current 4k project so I don't want to spend too much on a 3D HD I know the 3D of these two projectors are good. but the doubt is killing me to buy the new 2230 or the 5030UB used with a new lamp. i am not very comfortable buying used projector but this one for the price seems to be worth
