I have a Samsung TV and a Beam Speaker. When I turn on the TV, the Sonos App on my iPhone no longer recognizes that the TV is on and I am unable to control the TV (Beam) volume with my iphone Sonos App. I am still able to use my Samsung remote to adjust the Beam volume, but I prefer to use my iphone Sonos App to adjust the volume . How do I get my iphone Sonos App to recognize that the TV is on? I already checked Settings on the Sonos app, and “TV Autoplay” is turned on. I tried turning the TV Autoplay on and off, and I tried turning off and on my iPhone, but this did not help .
Hi folks!I currently have a single Sonos One Gen2. It is in another group than my Playbar, Sub and Play 3’s.I use it for radio listening and my deezer playlists. And to set timers (super usefull). To add volume and quality of the sound should I:add another one to the opposite corner of the room? move the one gen2 to another room and replace it with a single era 100? move the one gen2 to another room and replace it with a single era 300? move the one gen2 to another room and replace it with Sonos move gen 2?thank youNeven
We have an in home Sonos speaker system for our music & televisions. I want to purchase the best turntable that will adapt to our Sonos system. Can you recommend one?
I have 3 sources (Nvidia Shield, PC & Golf sim PC). Arc+sub+era+era as the audio target. Benq LK936ST projector as the video target. I had been successfully using a OREI HDA-935 audio extractor but the 2nd one just died after 3 months of use. Can anyone point me in the direction of a more robust/reliable option that will maintain full audio fidelity? Thanks!
Looking to update my Sonos S1 system which includes a Bridge, Boost, and 2 Connects. What do I upgrade to?
I have a Panasonic TV and Sonos Beam plus Sub Mini and two Ones at the rear.Due to the failure of the HDMI ARC port on the TV I have had to connect the Beam to the TV using the optical port and the provided adaptor. Will there be any difference in audio quality and what will be the downside of not having CEC (or Viera)?PS I am still able to use the remote for volume even though it says "speakers off" when adjusting volume.
Hi All, I have an AVR and I connected a port to it. Now I can switch to the Port input and it will play stereo out the left and right channels in my theater. My AVR has sub pre-out’s and I want to purchase a powered sub and attach it to one of the pre-outs. Will the Sub work with the music streaming out of the Sonos Port ? I obviously also expect the sub to work when I am just using the theater normally as well. I am still figuring out how to also replicate the stereo sound to my rear channels as well. I have a Denon S660H if that helps. Would appreciate any feedback on this.Thank you.
Hi,I’m not sure which products to choose when upgrading. Pls help :) My current setup is listed below, I’m currently using the S1 app.Amplifier: Connect AMP Main speakers: B&W 606 Subwoofer: B&W ASW608 Extra speakers: Play 1 (2 pcs) Sonos BridgeI would like to switch out the old Connect AMP with the new Amp in order to get my TV connected to the setup…. questions:Will I be able to keep my Main speakers and Subwoofer? Will I need to switch out the Play 1 speakers (dont think they work with the S2 app)? Will I still need my Sonos Bridge, or does it have to be replaced? Should I also get a soundbar? Thanks!!! :D_Michael
Hello!I'm planning on getting a Sonos Arc, but I think it might be too expensive for me. Does anyone have any recommendations for cheaper alternatives to the Sonos Arc?I'm looking for a quality home theater sound system that has similar specs to the Sonos Arc. I also want the system to be compatible with other Sonos products.Thank you for your help!
Hi - has Spotify disappeared from Sonos for others? It’s vanished from my app - and I can no longer add it as a service, or play to Sonos from the Spotify app. Hoping a glitch as haven’t seen anything about this anywhere. cheers!
Hello, I have a brand new LG OLED65G29LA and a brand new Sonos Arc.I have connected both with the included HDMI cable from Sonos. Then, I switched on the TV and set up the preferences for sound to HDMI.Then, I started the Arc the first time, added it to my Sonos system and the Sonos App asked automatically to serahc for an HDMI-Arc connection. But it fails. I did this several times. No success. I´ve tried both HDMI ports at the LG TV. Anyone an idea how to connect both in the right way? Thanks
My Sonos Beam was working perfectly with my Samsung tv until the other day and now it will still play music through the app. But doesn’t work with the TV. Have re set TV and the beam too. Doesn’t work. Please HELP!!
I recently purchased a couple of Era 100s and set them up as surrounds with my Beam Gen2. I can’t shake the feeling that there is some delay between the Beam and the Era’s. This manifests in a slight echo, mostly noticable with 5.1 tracks that have a fair amount of ambient sound/music. Not sure if that maybe also due to my room acoustics. Also i had a couple of dropouts (Era 100s only) the other day.Sadly there is no way to check/debug connection issues as far as i am aware of due to the Era line not using SonosNet anymore or at least the Sonos Matrix doesn't show anything in my case. Is there any other way to check for issues or do i need to contact Sonos Support? Not sure if i'm imaging things here but it would be good to at least rule out any technical issues. My Beam is wired btw. and the two Eras are connected to a fairly good Wifi6 AP.
Hi there2 days ago my Samsung tv stopped sending sound through my Beam and surrounds. I’ve tried all the previous suggestions such as TV software update, unplugging all cables from both sides etc. the App says it’s connected to the tv but still no sound. If I reset / unplug everything as above then the sound comes through again but once I turn the Tv off the lights on all speakers start to flash white and it’s not recognised again once I turn things on again? any help would be appreciated before I end up resetting all speakers to factory reset thanks Dan
My neighbor and I are sharing our wifi via mesh routers in order to save on monthly costs.I already have my Sonos device connected, my neighbor would like to set up his own account on the same wifi, is this possible?
Hi all,I’m new to this forum. My name is Mark, and I need some advice on the setup with a high ceiling. I was looking to buy Arc or Beam, but not sure if Dolby Atmos would work in this setup. The top of the ceiling in the middle is 4m.Soundbar preferred as I want to minimise cables, but open to other configurations if the ceiling is an issue. Assume windows would be closed while watching TV, and the view here is from the wall closing the room.Any suggestions on the recommended setup would be much appreciated.Cheers,Mark
How do I set the default search source to music library? I think the app used to default to the last used source (?) but now every time I start the app it defaults to Sonos Radio. I never use Sonos Radio and I never will so it means extra clicks every time I start the app. Very irritatong. Just for disclosure I do have an issue with the way Sonos Radio is forced on us and previously posted about how the mobile app prioritises SR search results over, for example, my Youtube Music service. Sonos have never “fixed” this - indeed, it seems to me they are intent on making things worse by changing the Windows app to try and force SR on me there too! I really, really hate this - just please, please, please let me use your speakers MY WAY! All I want is for SR to disappear, if one chooses to do so. I don’t care if it’s there as an initial default, but please just let us remove, even if it’s buried in the settings somewhere.
hello everyone,I am looking for help to setup my turn table.Currently, my Sonos setup is mainly for Home Theatre. It is a 5.1 setup comprised with Arc, Sub, Amp driving the 2 passive rear ceiling speakers.I have an old Pro-Ject turn table with a Pro-Ject pre-amp that I would like to incorporate in the Sonos ecosystem.Since my Amp is already setup to the 2 passive rears, I cannot use it for the turn table. So I think I need to look for a Sonos speaker that has line-in capability to drive the turn table with its build-in amp and allows me to include the turn table to my Sonos setup. Am I thinking this right?Prefer result would be a Sonos product compatible to the S2 app and allows the turn table to play across all my Sonos products.Thank you for any advice.Eric
The other day I noticed all of my music was gone from my library, I confirmed the path to the files is still loaded. I hit update music library now and indexing flashes and goes away.nothing is added to the library. I know the file permissions are set correctly because the last play list still plays the songs from the folder. The music folder is on the hard drive of the same WIN10 PC I am trying to update from. I sent a diagnostics report “Your confirmation number is: 812575149.” Please help! Thanks,John
Given the frequent complaints from Sonos community about Sonos Move Battery life, question is : “Will Sonos move 2 battery be compatible with original Sonos move?”
When playing on-demand streaming music via Spotify or another source I can skip or rewind tracks using the Next/Previous touch controls on the top of my Sonos. Thus I can change the music without getting my phone out or going to a computer or yelling at Alexa, ect. When listening a streaming radio station, the Next/Previous controls do nothing except flash an orange error light. I would love to be able to use Next/Previous touch controls to cycle through my saved streaming stations! My $20 FM radio can change stations without requiring the use of a smart phone app, it will be cool if my Sonos could do that too! 😁
I’m looking to install 4 sonos ceiling speakers into a living/dining room, powered by one amp. The ceiling is sloped (single slope, shed roof style). The room is 25’ L x 17’ W. The slope runs along the long wall.My question is around placement and options for balancing the sound. Two options:Have all 4 speakers at the same height about 1/3 of the way up the slope. With the slope pitch, this would have the speakers face into the middle of the room. The speakers would not be so much left/right of the listener, more coming from one direction but at least all at the same height. Have 2 speakers at 1/3 way up the slope and another two directly in line with those at 2/3 up the slope. A more standard quadrant setup. However, they would not be at the same height. The issue here is how I’d control the balance of the higher vs closer speaker on the pitched ceiling. Would Trueplay be able to balance the height differences? I realize that without adding a second amp there is no way to control the
Can anyone tell me if there is a compatible third-party power cord that is longer than the one that comes with the Era 300 out of the box? Need to hide the cables and cannot use a standard extension cord with the cable management system that I’m using. Much appreciated….
I’ve been banging my head against a brick wall trying to setup a new Sonos system in my RV using two Sonos Roams. I already have a home system (two Sonos Beams & four Sonos Ones) and have connected to a separate system at work (two Sonos Fives) so thought it would be no bother. How wrong I was!The problem seems to be that when creating a new system when you get to the part where the speaker gets connected to the Wi-Fi network the app tells it to connect to the Wi-Fi network of the existing system, not the one you’re connected to and are trying to set it up on. This happened to me on both Android and iOS and using the same account as my home system and with a new account I setup fresh.I finally found a way round it by using a spare device that had a fresh install of Sonos that hadn’t connected to any other Sonos system before. But that took a while as the first two device I tried were too old and the OS wasn’t supported (iOS 12 and Android 7). So after two days of trying I fina
Hi friends,Name is Johnny, a severely disabled guy retired in a nursing home in W--s--M. After many trials with voice and bluetooth speakers and not enjoying them, I found an old Sonos zone player covered in dust at the back of a 2nd hand shop, literally going for a song!:). Struggled home with it in my wheelchair (weighs 5kg!), cleaned it and installed s1 app. After doing a factory reset, the app found the speaker 1st time, connected to the home's secure WiFi and performed a system update faultlessly. After adding my music service and alll my fav radio stations to the app and ticking the uncompressed setting, I enjoyed a wonderful and varied 6hr listen, which helps with my pain and discomfort, without a hint of strain, and not one WIFI dropout:).Yes I know, the audio is not as good as the later models, or high res, nor is it supported anymore. However, For a beguiling and gentle long listen, there are few to match even an old Sonos:). So if your budget is tight please don't dismiss t
