I am trying to set up my new speaker, Beam gen2 and it will not connect to the internet. I get to the setup stage where it asks for the password to the network and then fails after typing in the password saying it is unable to connect. I have tried using a wired connection directly to the router and it gives the same error. I have a Netgear R6700AX router and have split the SSIDs into a 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. The device I am using to set up the speaker is also connected to the 2.4 network. I have tried connecting both with and without password security on the network. Have previously used a Sonos speaker with a wired connection (Play3) with no issues at my former apartment without issues but that speaker will not work in my house either. It is the same ISP but that has been the only change so I assume that is the issue. Talked with Sonos support for about an hour yesterday without any progress. Any suggestions or am I just stuck with a useless speaker? What to ask the ISP?
I am not able to connect to Sonos speakers from Spotify. This has worked fine for many years before. I have tested on IOS, Pixel Tablet and Samsung android. Tried to log in and out. AirPlay works fine. Other users work fine. Suggestions on what I should do?
HiIs it possible to use Play:1 exclusively via 5G on mobile phone or do I need to have wifi set up?
Kan de sub mini niet geregistreerd krijgenModerator edit:Google Translate-Can't get the sub mini registered
I’ve seen conversations on this subject. Sonos suggesting it’s a wifi problem is a great example of corporate gaslighting. They updated their app and now it’s trash. Own up to the trash.
Morning all, Does anyone know if the bamboo lampshade on the floor lamp change changed to the glass shades? Do Ikea on the uk sell a separate stand for the lampshade alone, I.e. I have a lamp, just after the stand. If not is there a company that does sell? Thank you. https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/symfonisk-floor-lamp-with-wifi-speaker-bamboo-smart-20528289/
For the folks that have Sonos Era 100 and doesn’t have any wifi issues, may I ask what wifi mesh system you have? I currently have Netgear nighthawk mesh system and it could be that my mesh system is not compatible with my Era 100s and this is after trying different ways to get running. I also have the Era speakers on static ip which work for a bit till it doesn’t or every time I reboot my router. Also, my older Sonos devices works fine under my current wifi system.
I inherited five Sonos Play speakers from my father, who recently died. Would love to be able to use the speakers but the app won’t let me until I’ve logged in as the owner. I’ve tried factory-resetting, assuming I would then be able to take over as the owner (I don’t have the UN and PW info), but I never get the green light. Any ideas how to get them to work?
Hi, I have an Arc Ultra + Sub Mini + 2 x Ones.Yesterday my son while we was listening music, put the volume to 100% with an Alexa command. It was only some seconds, but, do you think could have damaged the speakers somehow? Thanks!
Sur mon écran le diagramme est actif et indique que la musique est bien diffusée mais aucun son ne sort !! savez vous s’il y a un réglage à faire pour avoir le son. Tout fonctionnait normalement et puis plus rien ne sort des enceintes.merci de votre aide Moderator Edit - Translation by Google:On my screen the diagram is active and indicates that the music is playing but no sound comes out!!Do you know if there is an adjustment to make to get the sound? Everything was working normally and then nothing came out of the speakers.thank you for your help
For some reason I am unable to switch on the right speaker of a pair. The left one is fine (and displaying the green light). Many thanks for your help.
Just updated to version 80.12.03 and the volume controls actually work! Maybe there is hope! 🤞
Hi,I am having an argument with my partner about the position of the second Era 300 I just ordered. Here is a picture of our living room : As you can see, we have a first sonos Era 300 on a furniture on the right. We cannot put them behind the couch. I am intending to put the second Era 300 on the left, attached to the wall thanks to the Sonos wall mount system.I have now a conversation with my partner who would like the Era 300 to be put at the top of the wall (see the red cross behind) where as I think that it should be at the same position than the first Era 300 but on the other wall (see the yellow cross behind):What do you thing about out respective position ? Do you think the Trueplay calibration can help compensating the fact that each speaker is not in front of the other ?Thanks for your time !
Opening the app is very slow on updating the room status. I usually start music from Spotify Connect or by pushing the hardware button on the speaker .I then open Sonos app to set the sleep timer or change volume.App takes ages to update that something is playing and what's playing.Wifi network is currently working really well so it's a Sonos app issue.
I have a first gen playbar, 2 x play 1's and a 1st gen sub.If both the play 1s are being used, after a short time the whole system starts to glitch/stutter.Playbar - finePlaybar and sub finePlaybar, sub and 1 x play1 is fine As soon as I add the second play 1 it is fine for a short period but then glitches or stutters. Ive updated and tried factory reset.Any ideas?
I am aware of the support articels for Stereo Sound https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/create-a-stereo-pair and connecting a line in audio source via the 3.5mm connector https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/listen-to-your-turntable-on-sonos.What these articels do not state is if the audio source is connected to one Stereo capable speaker (eg the Five via the 3.5mm line in) that both speakers will actually Stereo or if the other speaker will not play anything or only mono. Maybe I overlooked an article so any advice would be appreciated.
Changed WiFi provider and can’t get my Sonus devices connected.
I have over 20 Sonos speakers connected in various rooms to a 5 GHz Wi-Fi system. The frequently will not connect. But the next day they will. It’s intermittent and a reboot Of the local ethernet switch normally solves the problem.. Question: would it be better to switch to the 2.4 Gigahertz Wi-Fi network which I already have set up? If so, how do I do it?Gigahertz Wi-Fi network which I already have set up? If so, how do I do it? Would I have to go and restart each and EVRI Sonos speaker by reconfiguring it?
so I have an ongoing problem with a Era 100 stereo pair - they just disappear from the app for a period of time. The interesting thing is that you look into a lot of reports of this problem, it’s always right speaker that is causing it, it crashes out taking the pair with it. if you unpair and make the left the right, when it crashes out, it’s still the right speaker in the pair doing it which eliminates the idea it is the physical unit but something in the Sonos software.Tried on three clean networks using Asus, net gear and now UniFi - occurs on all. The other interesting thing is looking at network logs, it’s not disconnecting from the network and still sending traffic but to do what is unknown.Anyone aware of what is causing this or if Sonos is aware - it does not feel it can be fixed on the user side or by the pointless network voodoo that people here suggest (“retuning to channel 666 while on one leg fixed it for me”).
I haven't used my speaker for awhile. Today I turned it on & clicked on the Sonos app. It won't let me access the app a page comes up "Sonos system needs a software update" I click on update now I get a spinning circle checking for updates & it says "There was a problem checking for updates" I have retryed this 12 times now & no joy ! I have rebooted system & uninstalled & reinstalled sonos app it's so frustrating I just want to listen to music ! I can't access app 😢
I currently have two Era 100s working in stereo for listening to music. I am happy with the overall sound but considering adding a sub mini. Will the sub mini make a noticeable difference? If anyone has done this upgrade was it worth the expense?
Hi all,I have two Era100s. They worked fine out of the box, but now after about 6 weeks, I cannot set them up both in one room. I can if I choose stereo pair, but as they are so far apart I don't want to do that. If I add one first to a room, for instance "kitchen", when I add the second one to "kitchen" it sets up "kitchen 2", so each speaker has a separate room. I've been one the phone to sonos for a bout an hour and they see the problem but so far haven't offered a solution.
New address and internet provider. Reset and connected with Ethernet. Worked for five minutes. Now I can’t connect to Wi-Fi, Sonos network is not on Wi-Fi. Products are not recognized. Cannot connect individual speakers or system. Deleted Sonos app and tried again with new app. Same problem on previous Wi-Fi at previous house. Sonos seems to find a new problem each time I find a potential solution. I have been without music now for three weeks. Either a solution is found in next week or I trash sonos products
For years I have had an ARC+Sub 2 connected to my TV via HDMI(arc). I recently upgraded to an ARC Ultra + Sub 4. I also have a SONOS Era 300 in a separate room and Play Ones each in their own rooms and a stereo pair of Play Ones in another room.Until last week I was able to play input from unique sources in each room and change a source in one room without impacting the source in any of the others. Now changing one room seems to make the change in all. For example: I’m watching TV and the Arc Ultra+ Sub 4 is set to TV Line In. I have changed the SONOS Era 300 to TV Line In, so TV audio is coming from both. I pause the TV and go into a room with a Play ONE. I set the source of the Play ONE to a streaming news radio station. When I go back to the TV room, the input of the Arc Ultra +Sub 4 and SONOS Era 300 have been changed to the news radio station. This is really annoying. Anyone else have this issue? Thanks,Kyle
In Dec 2022 I inadvertently purchased a SONOS ONE when I should have purchased a PLAY 1. My controller is SONOS S1 and I have 12 speakers . The tech dept walked me through converting the software on my SONOS ONE to make it a PLAY 1. All was well. I was away for 6 months and the system was shut down. When I returned all was in order except the system could not find the SONOS ONE speaker.( converted as above.) I tried hardwiring it but the result was that only the converted speaker was recognized and none of the others were. I tried rebooting the speaker--The lights flashed GREEN etc but the speaker was unable to be found. Please advise. I now do not know whether the software in the speaker is SONOS ONE or PLAY 1. Confused to say the least. (and I do not want to use the SONOS S2 app. Too many of my other speakers (PLAY 5s-- 1st generation) will not work with S2 and I would rather not have 2 controllers. Thanks
