Wifi and speaker stability

Hello Sonos people! I am in a five room apartment, I have pretty reliable 60/70 mbs internet, wired to 3 nodes of Google Mesh wifi (purchased 2018). My rooms are setup (wirelessly) as follows:

LR - Beam, Sub Mini, two Ones

DR - Two Ones

BE - A single One

Kitchen - One plus Roam

The problem I have is the speakers drop randomly and become non-responsive in the app. Is there something I could do to achieve more reliable service? I love my system, but it is also making me insane. Any guidance - including whether to buy a new router, and if so which one - would be much appreciated.

I had the same problem with Google Mesh, to the point that I replaced it.  I think my issues were caused by the channel swapping going on automatically to try and create the best Wi-Fi signal.  As a test, please wire one Sonos device to your base node with an ethernet cable.  If the problem goes away, then you know Google Mesh is the cause.

My base node is in my LR next to my Beam. Would it help to run an ethernet cable between those two?

You could try. All devices you mention above are Sonosnet capable.

By the way - since you mention the Beam being right next to the base node - putting two WiFi enabled devices right next each other could also be problematic.

Too close caused me issues, going to a meter / yard separation lowered the conflict between the devices.
