My play 5 speaker stopped connecting to the WiFi network - seemingly a common problem based on all of the threads. I ran a diagnostics as advised on here and got the code below.Sonos simply advised my speaker is faulty and because it is out of warranty they offered me 30% off a new one should I return it.I wondered if anyone has had any luck with getting their speaker repaired? Its such a shame to let it go especially when a new one is so costly. Moderator Edit: Recorded and removed diagnostics number.
Why should I buy Sonance ceiling speakers over another brand of the same quality? What benefits will I get?Looking to use 1 pair as surrounds when paired with an Arc Ultra and Sub.The other pair as a stand alone zone in a kitchen.
I own a Sonance Mag 6.1 outdoor speaker system, my question on the Sonance 8.1 system they offer a wiring harness, can this wiring harness be used for my Sonance Mag 6.1 system. Also on my system the subwoofer is passive, would I be able to swap out the subwoofer for a larger one as long as it's passive?
When I connect my headphones via stereo jack to my 5 it doesn‘t switch and still plays. It already worked half a year ago ….
Hi! I have two era 100 (a stereo pair) connected to a sub mini. It works great if I use AirPlay, but if I connect using Bluetooth, the sound only plays on the stereo pair. How Can I connect to all three of them with Bluetooth? Update: I have tried to unplug all of them, plug them back in, and also removing the sub an adding it to the stereo pair. Still the same issue Moderator edit: combined posts
Hi Sonos CommunityI’m a newbie and would like some help pls.Context: For music I have a pair of Era 300s and Sub gen 3. I have a large open plan “L” shaped living/dining/kitchen. The Dining is in the middle module of the “L” and has a high 4.8m ceiling. But the two arms of the “L” have only 2.4m ceilings. I am thinking of wall mounting the ERAs on the outer dining room wall(left side of pic) which will project music across the dining area and into the kitchen. They would be mounted about 2.2m up the wall; immediately above the curtains which is the only available space.Problem: I am worried that in this location too much sound from the upward firing speakers will go up into high ceiling void and become lost. To void this, is inverting the ERAs a good idea or not? Can I get an after-market cord that will go this far up the wall as Sonos seem to offer only lesser lengths? Or, is my suggested location a dud idea - I am also quite open to other suggestions?I have read quite a bit
For some reason I lost all power to my Sonos system. had to unplug it and wait for 10 second to get it to work. why would this happen. It’s a brand new system
I purchased a Era300 at Best Buy two months ago and I absolutely hate this speaker. The crackling and popping coming from the speaker is so load that it drowns out the sound from my beam and Era 100s. I've tried all the remedies I have seen posted but from what I'm reading here Sonos doesn't really care that the Era300 is crap. What remedies do we have as a community to force Sonos to fix these concerns. Serious buyer remorse.
Hi there,I’m seeking guidance on Trueplay tuning. In my large music/entertainment (rectangular) room, I have the following setup across the room length:2x Era 300s stereo pair + Sub Gen 3 and on the opposite end, 1x Era 300 + Sub MiniI have Trueplay tuned each group separately. For optimal performance, do I need to Trueplay each speaker before grouping or is it ok that I Trueplay tuned each group? Thanks,V
I have a Play 1 in the bedroom which shows up as not connected on the S2 app on iPad. How do I reconnect it or remove it and reconnect? Neither of these options appear in the app. Screen shot attached.
Hello! Wondering if anyone has faced similar issues when updating your era 100, i cant seem to update this speaker and im not sure if its an internal app issue.I have tried several things after contacting sonos support that DID NOT work:Factory Resetting the speaker Resetting the app Connecting from a different iOS device Signing in and out Transferring ownership (to myself) Moving it closer to the router Deleting and Redownloading the appMy network system is configured differently so i cant just reset the router. Im not so sure what’s wrong because i was able to connect my other era 100 speaker after facing similar issues. The unregistered speaker is also working fine as i was able to connect and play something via bluetooth. I would just like to register it so that i can pair my era 100.Any help would be appreciated!!
I am trying to prevent Sonos from playing on all speakers in the house when the TV is turned on. This only happens after music is played from an earlier time, paused and then later the TV is used. I usually have to turn all the other speakers down when the TV is turned on to prevent the TV sound being on multiple speakers- like in another room where someone is sleeping! How can I just turn it off in the app?
I’m watching television and my era is not activated, but it’s making a crackling noise on and off intermittently as if it’s listening for my voice, or maybe the tv sound is activating it. I shut off the voice feature and it’s still occurring. Anyone else with this issue?
hi can anyone else with ERA 300’s confirm if they click (make a static type noise) just before the music starts and a couple of seconds after it is paused? I’ve just purchased a pair and noticed in a quiet room this noise. It sounds like the noise is made when the speaker wakes up and when it sleeps. Anyone else hearing this?
Hi! I have some weird and annoying problem with my One SL. When I initially start playing music from my iPhone or iPad via AirPlay, there is just silence. It takes about 2mins or so before it then suddenly starts playing. Alternatively I always need to kinda kickstart the speaker by playing something through the Sonos app. And then also AirPlay work fine.I use these speakers only every now and then. I suppose so they have enough time to eventually go into some kind of sleep or deep sleep state… The problem does not occur when they are idling just for a day or so. When I start AirPlay it connects (so no connection errors), and also the LED on the speaker lights up (I think). Also music on the phone is happily playing. Just, there is no sound.Anyone else has that problem or knows what I can do?
Hello, I’m using two Era 100s in a stereo pair mode, and one of them is connected to my bluetooth devices. Both speakers are updated to the latest software, and I usually don’t have issues with the bluetooth playback. However, I noticed that after I restart my WIFI router, I lose the sound in bluetooth mode. I can connect and disconnect my bluetooth devices with audible confirmation chimes/status LED from the Era 100 that’s being used as a bluetooth connection point. However there’s no sound playing in this case. I tried toggling the bluetooth button on the back of the speaker, and I confirmed all my bluetooth devices see the connected Era 100 speaker just fine. What’s interesting is that WIFI music playback is not affected after the WIFI router is restarted. What fixes the issue is to force a power restart by disconnecting power plugs and reconnect. What I don’t get is that the bluetooth module shouldn’t be affected by WIFI connection status change due to a router restart. This seems
I have two Sonos SL speakers and was hoping to pair them up with Sonos Ray for my 2nd TV not as Surround speakers (it's an open plan room, so not possible to place them as surrounds) but as additional front speakers.
I saw a previous thread regarding this failure with burnt R37 on a Sonos sub main PCB, but it was closed perhaps due to inactivity. However, I was wondering if any other users also faced the same issue and possibly have an idea of the possible cause to this failure. I like to repair my unit, as the companion Sonos beam is still working fine. I bought the set in 2019, I have forgotten what generation that is, maybe someone here who is well versed with Sonos product could help me identify. Hope to receive some advice.
The optical cable for my new Ray soundbar doesn’t “snap in” to either the soundbar or the TV. Even when pushed in hard. Pricarious connection, easily jostled out.
My Sonos 5: gen 2 is not connecting to my Wi-Fi. I have tried everything, but still won’t connect. any ideas?
Hi,question. Did anyone notice that their paired Sonos Era 100s (or possibly 300s) did not update properly?the app said I had firmware update for my devices (shame it does not list which devices, as for example my current WiFi setup includes a sub as well). The notification does not say what is being updated and there is no link to a post but, fine, I can spend time searching for a post when I’m Ona. Bathroom break, right? (I’m being a bit sarcastic here, though in reality, I can live with that unless something starts to act fidgety after the update).but, my system supposedly updated and now it shows that only one Era 100 has the current build installed. Pushing for updates within the app only gives me “your system is up to date” response - which is not true.I did restart the speakers and the sub - disconnected form power supply and let them rest for a bit. I checked internet connection. And?still, as visible on my screenshot, one 100 remains using the older firmware.Sure, I could unpa
Hello, This may be a bit bespoke, but I’ve brought my two old Play:5s (recently upgraded home) to the office and I want to make a wired setup through the ethernet (using the S1 app). As you know, I cannot do the initial setup through the company WiFi because Sonos will not work through wireless that requires a corporate login/password to connect. I swear I had this working several months ago, but I’ve moved offices and can’t get it working again. I know that I can create a hotspot on my computer run a Sonos network off that, but then how do I switch the connection to ethernet only? When I try connecting the ethernet to the Sonos and cut the hotspot the connection fails. I’ve talked to IT and they have no problem with me using the Sonos and they say there is nothing specific they are doing through the network to stop the connection so long as I can get it set up myself. They even gave me a gigabit switch they had laying around to run ethernet to both speakers. Is there no way to just pl
Unable to connect Sonos sub gen 3 - Error code 1108
I play a continuous three-hour white noise track in my bedroom 24/7 (well, ideally). The track is by itself, no playlists, and the repeat is set to single track. After it repeats a couple of times, Sonos changes the track to anything else in my Spotify account (which is usually tech house and as you can see is pretty much the opposite of what I want to listen while sleeping).I have reseted all my Sonos devices, the router, the network in general, and nothing. I have even disconnected my Spotify account and nothing. I have tried playing the track directly from Sonos and directly from Spotify. Same thing. Oh, and I pay for Spotify.Has anybody experienced this? Or maybe somebody can suggest something? Anything…? I keep waking up at 4ish am with techno music thumping my walls. Thanks!
Hi, i have a setup with an Sonos amp as front speakers, two ERA100 as rears and a sub mini as subwoofer.I want to config the sound to fit best for my specific room. If I understand it right it have to use true play to get the nearly best result. But as soon as I assign the ERAs and the sub to the amp in one room as a surround set the button for true play disappears. Could you guys give me any advice how to fix this?
