I had my Sonos Five and loved it for years using line-in. Today I decided to connect it to wifi and I installed the latest update. Now, crossfade on Spotify is no longer available, and when closing my Spotify app the music keeps playing. Why would you do this Sonos? What is the reason?
I upgraded the controller yesterday to 14.6 (mac) and now my Sonos Five won’t connect. I have two other Sonos Ones that are connecting no problem.I tried factory resetting and reconnecting. That *worked* for completing the in-app process, but then at the last step it said something like “Your new device may not appear in System; if so, unplug and replug it back in.”It didn’t appear; I did unplug and replug; it still does not appear in the app. This is very frustrating. Any idea what’s up and how to fix it?
Sonos Play 1’s work fine with ALL music sources EXCEPT when trying to play music, or video, etc, via YouTube on my living room tv. The playbar connected to the tv works, but ALL of the Play 1’s thru the house drop the sound repeatedly. However if I play a tv program the sound does NOT drop, its ONLY when using YouTube on my tv. Is there a fix for this? I see this topic in forums back in 2017 but I cant find an answer or fix. Thanks!
Each time I stop or turntable auto stops at end of side I lose audio from Five when a start playing other side/new album Turntable is Sony PS-LX310BT with built in phono stage.Have set up Five speaker with line in auto play on. Source level 10 and delay medium. only fix I’ve found is powering off/on Five which is crazy. Any suggestions? As I feel I’ve wasted money on the Five. Thanks
I connected my Sonos Play 1 to my cheap projector that I bought online. It would seem that the audio lags. I have connected Sonos to projector via an aux cable. I don't think my projector has a Bluetooth option.
I’m looking for some help with my Play:3 setup. I have 2 of them in my cafe and regularly each day they stop playing, the Sonos app on my pc reports it could not play or it is not encoded correctly. At the same time, my Wi-Fi drops completely and any other devices lose their connection as well. This has only happened since the Play:3 speakers were installed. When they are turned off the Wi-Fi remains active and stable. Can anyone advise me on what the problem is?Thanks in advance.
Hi team,We have three Sonos speakers - a Sonos Beam (gen1), and two Sonos Play:1s.A few weeks ago the Sonos Play:1 speakers disappeared from our system, and I cannot get them to reconnect. When we try to factory reset them they show the error “Your play:1 has been added, but may not appear in the system tab. If so, unplug the power cord and plug it back in to finish setup of the system”.I have tried:Factory Reset (shows the error every time. after a restart won’t connect, and need to factory reset again) Changing our WIFI to separate 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands, and connecting all the sonos products to just the 2.4ghz band (doesn’t work, above error) Plugging in via ethernet (this works, but only whilst plugged in, and we can’t have our speakers there)I am at my wits end now, I can’t think of what’s gone wrong but for now these speakers might as well be broken. This error just keeps happening again and again:This is the error we keep getting
I just got the Pro-ject T1 Phono SB and got the Sonos 5 with it as well. I think I’ve set it up right and it’s playing accurately through the record on the Sonos 5 but the quality is really poor. The Pro-ject turntable has a built-in amp so I cant figure out the issue I’m having with sound quality. Is it the turntable or the speaker or the connections between both?
Hey hey, I just moved into my new apartment however when I connect my Sub to my 2 fives it wont work. I am seeing the sub in the app and it even reacts to the “show status lights” but no bass trough the sub, only sound from 1 side of the fives. I also factory reset all my speakers with no results. Both my fives do work in stereo mode. diagnostic: 217549706
I have a One, Play:3, and a Beam. The Beam is wired directly to my TV and is great. No issues. The One and Play:3 stream through WiFi and constantly give me problems.Songs played through Amazon Music or books streamed through Audible pause, skip, or stop frequently. Audible books through the One are unlistenable because it will pause, then skip entire chapters. The app tells me that my internet connection is unstable, but I can literally put an Amazon Echo Dot 2nd Gen in the same place as the One or Play:3 and it streams through my WiFi with no issues. Has anyone else had an issue like this?
Hi all,I have a Dual 1209 turntable (my dad’s, from the 60s) with an RCA cable leading from it directly to my Sonos Port. Then I play my turntable via two play 5s (gen 2). The problem I’m having is that the volume is super low and it skips intermittently.Of note:It’s not the record skipping; I’ve played the same record on traditional wired, passive speakers. I’ve set the Source Level to 10 on the Port. It does increase it a little bit, but it’s still very low. As for the skipping, I changed the audio compression to compressed and that didn’t work. I have no wired Sonos products, so there is no channel for the SonosNet I have a Onkyo receiver (from the 90s) with a Phono setting which I used in conjunction with the Port when I was playing the turntable via traditional speakers AND a Play 5. The volume was low on the Play 5 then too.
What happened Sonos, when I had S1 literally bulletproof reliability. Now you treat you customers like junk and the s2 app works about 25% of the time. Honestly a ground breaking market leading amazing product to some unreliable over priced rubbish. I don’t know what’s happened but the 23000+ trouble shouting topics here says it all. I’ve plenty of written prof about how sonos treats its customers which I’m happy to publish if anyone wants a laugh. Sooo disappointing and frustrating. Anyway I’m off to reboot all my devices and my router agin in the hope I get 30mins of music before it drops out again!!!!!!
Hi allI was wondering if any other users have experienced issues since the new Play:1\Play:3 firmware was introduced?I was recently able to access my music and update the libraries without problem. Since updating the firmware on my 2xPlay:1 and Play:3 system, I have been unable to update my music library which is held on a very old NAS drive (WD My Book Live). Nothing has changed in terms of the NAS drive settings, and it is so old that there has not been a firmware update for several years. The only thing that has changed is the firmware update to the Sonos speakers. From a cause and effect perspective, the only change has been the Sonos firmware (SoftwareVersion 67.1-27100, SoftwareDate 2022-03-10 17:01:21.399337).The drive is viewable as normal via Windows Explorer and iTunes. Sonos support suggested it is an SMB issue, but it wouldn’t follow as it has worked before this firmware update. They have asked me to contract Western Digital to see if there is any way to change the SMB se
Hi, my play 5 gen2, keeps loosing its connection. I can´t reconnect to it without resetting it (power off).I have tryed turning off automatic update, as i thought it might crash/dump the connection somehow. I use the app, to set it up, but often it cant find the play5, even after “power off”, io have to retry the setup process several times. When reconnected, it keeps up the connection for 1-3 months, then it looses connection again. It´s placed under the seeling, 2,7m above the floor. Any tips?
Hello All,New to Sonos and the community.I purchased two Sonos 5 Speakers. I have them setup (via wireless) with the app and was able to successfully put them into a “Stereo Pair”. This works perfectly when playing Spotify, Pandora, etc. The issue I am having is with the Line-In from my Turntable. I have the new AT-LP120XBT-USB and have it connected directly to the Line-In of the Left Sonos 5. I only ever get sound out of that speaker. If I move the Line-In to the right speaker - I don’t ever get sound out of the right speaker. Is this by design?I also notice in the app, that it does correctly show the Line-In connected to the respective speaker, but for the life of me, I can’t get it to play in stereo which is very disappointing. Can anyone offer any assistance? Thanks!
Dear Community,I have two Sonos 5 connected via Airplay to my Apple TV 4k. Initially everything worked. But now I noticed a very annoying Problem.Everytime I stream music via Apple Music or Spotify and stop it for some time (a few minutes or after Apple TV goes to sleep) and then press play again there is no music coming from the speakers. It seems like the Airplay connection goes to sleep and won’t wake up again. I have to reconnect the speakers.is this Problem known? And is there any solution for it?
I recently added a Beam 2 to my system and ever since my Play 5 disappeared from my system. My system consistes of S2 App1 - Beam (Gen 2)2 - Play:11 - Sonos 1 w/Alexa1 - Play 5 (Gen1) Following is what I’ve tried so far:Factory reset the Play 5 and go through the setup process again on wireless Factory reset the Play 5 and go through the setup process again hard wired Reset Wireless AP’s, Switch, Firewall, Modem Powered down ALL Sonos devices; Then factory reset the Play 5 and go through the setup process again hard wired. Powered down ALL Sonos devices except Beam which is hard wired; Then factory reset the Play 5 and go through the setup process again hard wired. Powered down ALL Wireless devices including ALL Sonos; Flushed ALL DHCP leases and rebooted the Wireless AP’s, then Factory reset the Play 5 and go through the setup process again hard wired. This one took me about 90 min. :-(None of this has resulted in the Play 5 showing up in the app. I’ve confirmed the Play 5 is defia
After a Eero Pro firmware update my machine won’t connect. I’ve tried everything including full reset, and hardwire set up - it won’t find and connect my WiFi network. The setup reaches the very last step (connect to my network) and errors out and says no connection is possible. This is driving me NUTS
I have dropped a play 5 and it is rattling. I have removed the front grille and the 8 screws but it won’t come apart. How do I get it apart? Thanks
Surround sound speakers, both play 1s, one of which does not stay connected. Same distance from beam. Left side goes in and out of connection. What gives? Wear and tear of product? Tried everything, talked to customer service, diagnostic reports. Nothing worth noting. Sonos app displays “?” for LS. Any suggestions/ guidance? Ty

Dear community members I’m new to this forum, please excuse me if I posted this in the wrong place. I’m using a Play 3 on a Windows desktop with a S1 Controller. My question is: .Can a Sonos Play 3 with a S1 controller play FLAC and album-files? If you need any additional information, let me know and I’ll try to provide it. Yours sincerely
A few months ago, I was able to purchase a (new to me) Play 1 for rather cheap off of Craigslist. I paired it with an existing Play 1 in my kitchen and thought all was well. After a few weeks of use, I've noticed that trying to play music across my entire house (Spotify and Plex audio only) is now rather slow to initially connect and I have sporadic dropouts of individual speakers. Even if I reduce the playback to a few rooms, I still notice individual speaker drops but to a slightly lesser degree I have multiple Sonos devices in 4 rooms in the house and a Sonos Boost as well. The Boost is on a LAN connection while all other device are on Wi-Fi. In all other rooms I have newer Sonos devices (Beam, Sub, Sonos Ones, etc.). Is it possible that the Play 1s are now too underpowered to be part of "whole house" playback and may be impeding overall performance?A few supporting notes / topics:I am on a mesh network but given that this configuration has been working without issues for many month
How do I know if my 2016 sonos play 1 is gen 1 or gen 2
Hello, my wifi setup of two Play 1 and one Play5 gen:1 has been working fine until recently. My Play 5 is not detected anymore. I've read a lot about similar issues and unseccessfully tried to troubleshoot (restart, ethernet connections). Note that I'm stil using the S1 app because I am limited by my devices (none of them support S2). Therefore I cannot add a new Sonos element from scratch. If anyone faced similar issue or has any thoughts, I'd be grateful. Thanks!
