I’ve had no luck in using the second ethernet port (tried switching left to right as well) on any of my six Play 5 Gen 1 speakers to extend on to another device, in this case, my win box computer. I got all these speakers used and just wondering if this was a failure point in them or not intended for this purpose. They work fine otherwise.
Sonos gives a warranty or 2 years but other brands like bose gives 5 years warranty. Should that impact the decision of which brands to buy? for current sonos speakers’ owners, is sonos a long life product or does it create some problems after a couple of years?
Todays issue. Left channel fine, right channel drops. Right channel is directly across room, direct line of sight, to router. Ten feet, max.Diagnostic 127574263.This happens pretty frequently.
AirPlay seems to work fine, I can swap between my devices no problem. But once I try to switch to Spotify network streaming it seems like the connection is blocked. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get the Sonos to properly disconnect from airplay? If I turn off the apple devices I can get it to connect to Spotify, but this seems extreme to switch between devices.
Hi,I've bought a Sonos One for the kitchen.Sounds very good but I'm thinking if I should use trueplay also for a single speaker. What do you recommend?
Hi All, I purchased a used Play 5 Gen 1 a couple of weeks ago, all good until today and now no sign of powering on, anyone know if this is a known fault or problem.
I have been using FiOS for over a year and only recently have noticed lag and very slow download speeds 65-85mbps. I have many ‘newer’ connected wifi devices, including a Sonos Port and no issues. I’m wondering if anyone else has a message from ISP (orange area in attached) showing my Sonos 1s need to be upgraded? Also is this the whole unit or just firmware? Does Sonos fix or do trade ins? Thanks,Ben
My daughter moved my play 5 upstairs (without asking) and it now will not connect to the WiFi. Have tried via the Sonos app but it wont connect to the temp Sonos wifi that it is set up. I have tried connecting to WiFi via an Ethernet cable to the Router but still no luck. Any ideas?
I use my whole-home Sonos setup exclusively for music. My music library is fairly diverse, and of varying quality in terms of how it was mastered. As a result, I like to adjust the EQ on my speakers frequently, but digging into four “Product” sets to them scroll down to EQ and adjust each individually is a bit of a pain. A global/system-wide EQ adjustment would be really helpful for this. Works great for the volume slider, so it stands to reason it would also work fine for the bass slider too. Anyone else interested in such a feature? Any chance we could see that in a future update?
Hello is it possible to connect 4 player 5 gen 1 together and in the same room?
I have 3 Sonos products - Play 1, Move and Arc. My wifi speed is 300+mbps, with Linksys mesh system. When I launch the Sonos app on my iPhone it’s a lottery as to whether I get the “Unable to connect ...” or if I’m lucky, any permutation of one, two or all three of the above units. I then waste time rebooting my router and switching off and on the respective units with varying degrees of success until eventually it works.I’ve spent hours reading many topics here on this subject and like many other users I’m increasingly frustrated by having paid a small fortune for these units, (which are great when they work properly) the connectivity is very unreliable. My wifi doesn’t have any problem in connecting with any of the several other wireless devices in my house so to my albeit technically simple mind this must be a Sonos problem. Is there any proven solution and if not, why not since it’s been an issue for several years?
Hi,I searched around, and googled the error messages I have, but to no avail. Perhaps as this is an older device, the answers are harder to find. Anyway, see if anyone can help…I loaned my Play:1 to a friend, which they never used, but now I have it back, it's failing to link to my account.I did a hardware reset in the end. Still setup failed suggesting I use ethernet instead. So switched to ethernet, it finds the speaker, does its chime "PIN" okay, but then at "Linking your Play:1 to your account", it fails "There was a problem linking your Play:1 to your account", no reason or details given for fail.So ultimately I have "Your Play:1 (Den) has been added. Audio playback will be available once this product is updated and linked to your account", and the Play:1 is shown in System/Products as "Not registered".I tried online support, but the bot just wasted my time and couldn’t connect me to anyone.Online at sonos.com, my Sonos account shows the Play:1 as registered, *with today’s date*
Hi,the provider of my wi-fi connection changed the router and now, with a new one, I can’t connect all of my 3 sonos one. WHen I try to connect, after combining the mobile phone with the stereo, it appears that caption: we had a problem during the connection of Sonos one to the wi-fi. How can I sort it out?I did everything the assistance guide suggest but I can’t sort the issue out.thanksV
I have a bifurcated system. Move and s1. I used to be able to connect to my sonos s1 speaker using the S1 app. went on holiday retuned and can’t now. S1 app reverts to S2 app and I cannot connect to S1. tried resetting app. Removed it and reloaded it. still not working.
Hello. I’m currently in the UK and will be moving to Australia soon. Currently have play 3s and beam. Will my system work there? Is it just new power leads I will need. Thanks
How to perform factory reboot. Something other than unplug and plug back in? Performed this function so many times I could not possible count.
Where can i find a replacement speaker for the sonos play 5 gen 2
Two days ago, one of the speakers in my system stopped being able to have audio sent to it from Airplay. I get an error on my iPad that simply states: “Airplay: Unable to connect to “Office”.” Airplay works on my 4 other Sonos speakers throughout the house, apart from this one. None are added to my home via Homekit. I’ve tried the following:Restarting speaker Restarting iPad Restarting network Changing from a wired (sonosnet) to a wireless network connection Factory resetting speaker The best workaround I have for the moment is AirPlaying to another speaker, setting volume to 0, and grouping to my Office speaker, but this is insanely convoluted. I found a few other posts regarding similar issues, however they’ve stated that a factory reset has fixed the issue - unfortunately not the case for me. Is the only option currently to wait for Apple to fix their AirPlay architecture? Or has anyone come across a different fix?
I have an older Sonos looks exactly like the new FIVE. I set up the 2 new white FIVES and the Arc yesterday and found my 4-6 year old old black Sonos that looks like a Five. How do I add this to my other 3 pieces ?
I just bought the Sonos Five. I have an Audio Technica AT-LP3 turntable that has a phono preamp. I bought an adapter I pressed the line / phono switch. But nothing happens. No sound. Can you help me please ?Thanks very much
Can i ask is it possible to have sonos set up for tv surround sound and also stereo pair for playing music?
I have a pair of Play 5 speakers (old version) set up as a stereo pair. The left speaker is noticably louder than the right. The balance is set to the center. I separated the pair and the left speaker still sounds louder. Any thoughts on how to resolve this? Thanks, John
My Play:5 has sat in a box for 2 years before I finally decided to set it up. It has began to be one heck of a struggle though. The recent days I’ve been trying everything to get it set up, but failure after failure I get the same “sonos is having trouble linking to your device, check your wifi and try again later”. I’ve even tried this multiple times with an Ethernet cable, I’ve deleted the app multiple times, restarted the router, used multiple Ethernet cables, and I get the same error message every time, and I know there is nothing wrong with my wifi. It should not be this hard for a damn bluetooth speaker. This will not register to my device at all. 549.99 for this bs.
Hello i recently changed my broadband to Virgin which has 5Ghz, which would not connect my speakers via WiFi, so I connected my Symfonisk speaker via Ethernet. Now I can’t get my Sonos one to connect. I used to have the symfonisk and one speaker set up as one system in separate rooms. The One speaker does not show up on the App, I tried resettling and setting the speaker up as “new” but it still does not appear on the App. I cannot use an Ethernet cable with the One speaker. is there anyway around this so I can get both speakers working? Thanks for your helpDerek
Hi I have just bought a FiiO M11s and would like some advice. How compatible is it with Sonos Play5 second gen Via WiFi? It sort of works using Tidal via headphones and the sonos speakers. Can’t see a way to connect speakers using Apple music and Amazon music tries to connect but immediately drops connection.Any advice or pointers would be great. FiiO support not replied to my initial request for help 6 days ago.
