Dear all,My Play5 gen 1 (2015) has NEVER been reliable. As a result, i just stood there for the past years, using it maybe a couple of times per year.As I would like to use this otherwise nice piece of equipment (the hardware is ok), I wanted to reconnect it to my wifi and start using it more. Sadly, the white LED keeps blinking and no other actions seem to be possible. I cannot connect to it, I cannot reset it, … nothing! Please tell me if there is a way out of this. Is this a bricked device? Can I do a reset somehow?Sad that a company with a big name is not able to make this Play5 more stable. Cheers,Tijs

Hello.The turntable is connected to the paired Five. Depending on the song, there will be no sound from one of the speakers. Is there any way to improve it?

Hi,I’m trying to setup my Play5 (2ndG) after a while not using it - it worked fine the last time I used it but I have reset my wifi password etc since so I decided to start from scratch. Factory reset the Play 5 Latest version of IOS on my iPad Reset the Sonos App (v2)My attempt goes as followsThe Play 5 is flashing green Open the Sonos App, accept License conditions etc. Login the Sonos The app immediately finds the Play 5, I click ‘Add’ “Getting Play 5 ready”... Goto Accessories setup to connect “Preparing” “Gathering info about your network” Shows my the network and the accessory name “Sonos Play 5” so I hit next “Setting up accessory to join NETWORK”… “Waiting for Sonos Play 5 Black”… (Still flashing green) “An unexpected error occurred try again”Trying again results in exactly the same and this all happens in exactly the same way when using my iPhone instead of the iPad.Any ideas?Cheers

I have a first generation Play:5 that won’t power on. Sonos won’t replace it aside from offering a discount on a new product. Yet, this device was so expensive, and I’d rather not send it to the dump either way, so I decided to try a repair.I’ve read that Sonos will send replacement parts, but they have turned me down in this case :( does anyone know of anywhere I can buy a compatible replacement power board?(ideally someplace inexpensive or with a return policy, in case that doesn’t solve my issue) thanks! 

Can't get my sonos 5 gen 1 to be recognised on the same network as my sonos amp. Tried wireless tried LAN tried using the sonos bridge.Any advice?

HiI have problems connecting a rega plus1 turntable with build-in amp to my five speakers that’s in stereo modeI am using a standard RCA to ⅛” (3.5mm).In the Sonos-app the line-in source says it is playing, but no sound other the scratchy noice when volume is on 100% I have tried to change the source level on the five. I have tried to separate the five speakers so no longer in stereo and I have tried to curse at the system - nothing helps It should be so easy so what am I doing wrong? 

Diagnostic #: 1197458452I have 3 Play:1’s & 1 Play:5(2) grouped together.  A couple of the Play:1’s have been having continual problems with cutting out, while the other’s in the group continue to play.  It’s like they’re shorting out or something. I just recently switched to a wired set-up with my Play:5 connected directly to my Google Mesh Hub, as I thought the wireless setup was what was causing the issues.  Since making that switch, it’s almost worse.  The Play:1 in my office has cut out at least 4 times in the last hour, coming back on randomly, but not for long.The Play:1 that’s not playing still shows as if it is and still grouped in the controller.I’ve LOVED my Sonos system for many years, but these recent constant issues are driving me CRAZY!!Please help.Thanks,April

I’ve recently moved my Symfonisk speaker from its place in the Office/Den and swapped places the Kitchen-based Play 3. I was able to save the Symfonisk’s room name to Kitchen 2 in the iOS app but the Play 3 will not keep the new room name.  Now both keep overriding any name changes I give them. Any ideas why?Video of the issue below:I do not have Apple Home setup at all in case that’s important.

OK Changed my home network and I guess I waited too long to change the settings in Sonos. When I go into Settings the option for system isn’t highlighted and I can’t get in to change my network settings 

My Sonos play 1 is about a month out of warranty. There is no power now on the unit. The power cable seems ok as I have a spare and had no luck using that one either.Can anyone help?Thanks

Sonos play 3 will not connect and system will not update...HELP tried everything!!!!Reboot, turn off reboot etc, nothing is working to update the system just get Error 1101, tried all tips and still nothing working.Helen

Long time Sonos user here.  I bought an Arc and while waiting for it,  I decided to move my Beam and Play 3s to S2 since I will need it for the Arc. I successfully moved the Beam and one Play 3 to S2.  I cannot add the second Play 3.  I did a factory reset and S2 sees the speaker and walks me though adding it.  I get the chime PIN thing and then it says that it is adding the speaker.  Then it craps out and says to unplug the speaker and try again.While this is happening,  I lose the first Play 3 that I successfully added.Prior to this,  these were a stereo pair under S1.  I went ahead and created a new S1 system with my older devices using SonosNET - that is working fine.  The S2 system is also using SonosNET as I have the Beam plugged into my router.  S1 is on channel 1 and S2 is on channel 11. All of my Sonos devices have a static IP assigned.  I removed that reservation for the two Play 3s and rebooted my router in order for them to grab new IPs.   Any ideas before I call Sonos?Than

I have seen this question asked a number of times in multiple ways with no solution given. I’ll try again. I have a mesh Wi-Fi network broadcasting 2 networks: the private one, and our guest one. We want to move our Play:1 speakers to the guest network, but they keep reverting to their old (private) network! And we are getting increasingly infuriated at the abject shoddiness of the UX.• I cannot connect ethernet to the guest network — all hard connections only go to the private network. Don’t suggest this. It cannot happen.• I cannot turn off / disable the private network. It’s our primary network. Don’t suggest this. It cannot happen.How do I tell these f***ing speakers to just f***ing forget the former f***ing private network?! It’s absurd!! Basically every mainstream device made in the last 2 decades has a “forget this network” option. This should be so simple: move to a different network. My set up is Play1, Play3 and Connect running on S1.Recently i was experiencing issues with Play 1 and Play3 dropping out.I thought that Connect might be the issue, so turned it off and tried to connect both Plays via Wifi direct to Router. What happened next was that my system somehow “split into two”. Under my login in app i can see Play3 but can’t see Play1 or can’t even add it in. If i log out of my account i can see Play1 but can’t see or add Play3.Is there a way how to reset the whole system and start over? Or any other suggestions?It is driving me crazy. 

Our Sonos system has completely stopped responding: the white light is on, however nothing happens when we press the Play button, even for 60s +, or when we run through the factory reset sequence… it just stays white …Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My Play 5 (one of a stereo pair) dropped out recently and nothing would get it back online so I carried out a factory reset which didn’t work so I took it to the router and connected it via ethernet cable.After an update I could see it and re-paired it with the other speaker but when I unplugged it to move it back to the kitchen it dropped off my system again.This has now happened twice...any ideas anyone? TIA

As an early adopter, I am beyond frustrated with this product at this time.There’s constant breaking upgrades.After I finally made time for the S2 upgrade and started recycling my setup (3 Play:5, 1 Connect Amp into wired ceiling speakers, 1 Sub), I can’t discover my second Play:5 nor my Sub.All the documentation I find online seems outdated. Do NOT tell me I need to wire any of my SONOS products into my router---I paid $$$ to avoid wiring.Extremely annoyed at this point.

Hi,I have a Play 5 with line in connected to my turntable and it sounds superb. The problem arises when I try to listen to the vinyl in other rooms.For example, the play 5 is in my conservatory where I tend to listen to records most of the time, but when I want to connect to the Play 3 in the Kitchen, the playback drops regularly, but only on the kitchen speaker not the 5 in the adjoining room..?Why does line in work perfectly through the 5, but poorly through the other  speakers in my set up..?TIA,Jonathan

Hi!My Connect Amp and Play 5 is ethernet hardwired.I had drop-outs on my Play 5 for a very long time, like 1min then it plays for 10sec and then gone again.When then selecting only my Play5 from application (Rooms list), suddenly that room disappears from the list. Hello everybody, I have some problems with my client sonos system.We have:  9 connect:amp (gen2) | 1 playbar | 1 sub (gen2) | 1 play 5 (gen2)my client connect(turn on) the play:5  two times a week on the pool and line-in from projector to watch movie and group the play:5 and pool amp’s.During last 2 years everithing was working great until last 2 month, the system after connect or disconect play:5 goes down and he needed to reboot all amps to play music again. Last week, the problem changed, now everytime he connect(turn on) the play:5 all system goes down, music stop playing everywere and all amps just desapear from his S2 app Until he disconnect the play:5 from the power, and then by magic the sistem start apearing again in the app and after 5/10min start work perfectly again.all system is in DHCP so its now ip problem, i already reset the play5 2 times and every time I add it again to the system, goes down. Can anybody help me with it? :c

Hello Forum,I just fixed a play 5 which was having very low sound at max volume settings. Scanning through the forum I see many other posts but no fix. The issue is not the amp but the fact that the 24V for the amp stage is not triggered when you select "play". There is a mosfet (Q27621) switching the 24V power to the amp stage. This mosfet could be dead or, like in my case, the signal feeding the gate of this mosfet not getting applied. There is a small circuitry near the mosfet, tracing this back leads to the large CPU board  connector. Just before reaching the connector there is a 10kOhm resistor (R27835) which was dead in my case. I replaced it by an "old fashion" one which can take some more power. I hope this will help some folks to give their Play 5 a 2nd life. Good luck! 

Our Sonos Play 5 is suddenly silent.  It’s visible (via wi-fi) to the Sonos app and also to the Spotify app, but there’s simply no sound coming out.  We’ve tried disconnecting the speaker and confirmed the volume settings.  Completely at a loss as to what to do. Meanwhile, our Connect in another room is working just fine.

I have some vacation property that has no internet or cell reception. I want to bring some Sonos speakers with me, but I can’t get them to work. Here’s what I’ve done so far:I have a router that has the same WIFI information as my home network so any devices that can connect to my home network can also connect this one. Again, this WIFI has no internet. I was able to get my Sonos speakers to work on my home network when the internet was disabled (with local files only, no streaming services obviously.) I brought a Play 5 to the vacation property, and I confirmed that both my phone and the speaker were connected to the vacation network. The speaker was able to connect to the network either via WIFI or with an ethernet cable. The Sonos app on my phone couldn’t find a Sonos network. Perhaps this was because my home network was tied to a different GPS location? The phone app required Location services to be on, so I couldn’t disable that.
