I am about to purchase an ARC and subwoofer but want to be sure of something. I currently use a soundbar system from Samsung that connects to the subwoofer and rears on Samsung created 5.8ghz WiFi channel 165. This worked great for a few years until we moved to a new house with many other homes saturating the upper WiFi channels of 161 and higher, causing the subwoofer and rears to cut out or make noise. If I am reading the SONOS info correctly, as long as I don't connect the ARC by ethernet to my home network the ARC and the subwoofer will connect to my existing home WiFi network and send the sound through that. If I use the ethernet, then it will turn on SonosNet and create its own WiFi which could run into the same interference as the Samsung system I own. Am I understanding this correctly? I have an ASUS mesh WiFi network with ethernet backhaul. Signal in my home is rock solid in all areas.
Hi. I’ve bought an era 300 to use with a Pro-Ject E1 phono turntable, but can’t get any sound to transmit at all. My understanding is that the turntable has a built in pre-amp, so I don’t need a separate one, but no joy so far. Any ideas please?
Vocals on the Era 100 sound bad, sort of boxy and harsh. They sound much smoother on my Play:1’s. I’ve run True Play. I’ve noticed this with a single Era100, a stereo pair on my desk, and a stereo pair in my living room. Any ideas? Does anyone else notice this?
Hi, I have a gen 1 Symfonisk bookshelf that is connected via UTP to my router which is in my storage room. It is currently my only Sonos device. Because of the location of my router, I would very much like to get rid of the cable. If I recall correctly, the Gen 1 speaker, when used by itself, can only be used when connected via UTP cable. Is that correct? Would adding a Gen 2 speaker (which I believe creates a network wirelessly?) allow me to use the Gen 1 speaker without the UTP cable? My apologies if I sound completely clueless – I am. My ex bought and installed the speaker and I just hooked it up the way I saw him do it when I moved 😬
What happend? After last update the sound changed and to the worse. Not good at all 😡😡
When playing a song from Apple Music on my Apple TV 4K through my LG C2 to my Sonos Beam (Gen 2), the first 2-3 seconds of the song are missing. This doesn’t happen when the first song ends and it moves to the next song on an album. It’s just the first track initiated.Anyone else experienced this?
Hi there,I have a Google WiFi Mesh with 4 nodes (one outside) in a fairly long house. The nodes are hardwired via managed switches. I have 14 Sonos devices across 6 rooms, including a Roam, Amp, Boost (wired via ethernet), and Arc (also wired via ethernet). I've made some changes to the system recently, changed password, and settings on the managed switches. My question:When my phone is connected to the primary node, and some of the other nodes, I see all Sonos devices in the Sonos App. When I move physically, and phone connects to another node, I only see half of my system: the system seems to be divided between the Arc (hardwired) and the Boost (hardwired). No matter which node I connect to, the support matrix looks great, mostly white/ green/ few yellow connections. I can always control all speakers via Google Home App. I get no drop outs. Today I've pinned all IP addresses, no improvement.I have 1 switch right after the primary node, and then 2 secondary switches after that. The Boos
Hi I have a sonos one a100. I want to by another to make a pair and I know I can’t but this through sonos anymore.I have been searching online and am unsure as to whether what I have is gen 1 or gen 2 as this often how resellers are advertising.mine is Alexa and blue tooth enabled.any advice?
Connected new Gen3 sub, no sound. Haven’t run trueplay yet. Light on sub is white.
Hi, this might seem like a silly question but if I pick uncompressed audio from my line in, and then group my turntable and my Fives (which it's plugged into), with my Era 300s (making it play through 2 sets of stereo speakers), will it keep the audio uncompressed?
Having issues with products droppingmy computer when connected to wifi picks up the Move and Roam pairs but none others. When connected to ethernet they pick up all but the Move and Roam.My iphone will only pick up the MoveI have 11 pieces of Sonos equipment and feeling like this game of trying to get them to connect more than its worth.Hate to think this has been a waste of money.
I have two One’s that work great for music, but when I use them with AirPlay via Apple TV as an alternate output, they disconnect after 5-10 minutes - well, sound stops, but going to the Apple TV and Sonos App, it shows connected. All firmware is up to date on all hardware, Sonos + AppleTV.Have reset them all, unplugged, etc, still same outcome. Is this normal? Thanks! Moderator edit: Changed Play:1 to One for accuracy
Diagnostics code: 348474538We are in an open office plan in LA. We have 3 Play 5s and recently after an update they constantly disconnect from the app, stop playing mid song, and wont go longer than 1 to 1 ½ songs with out either disconnecting or not being seen by the Sonos app. We have followed all the troubleshooting on the forums. Unplugged and reset all the devices multiple times. Reset the App and even “forgot the current sonos system” The devices are all connecting over wifi right now but also have a hardwire ethernet connection going into them. When trying to “Disanle Wi-Fi” we get an error immediately. “Wi-Fi Not Disabled Make sure this product is connected to your router with an Ethernet cable. They are connected and they go to a swtich in our server room. The IP addresses have not changed, nothing in our network changed. but this last “Software Update” broke the entire system to the point it is unusable and our management is about to explore other options. Please help.
I have a pair of era 300s to be wall mounted as surround speakers in newly finished basement. We have metal wall studs, not wood, and wondering if it's safe to mount through drywall to the metal studs and what fasteners to use?
I recently had a new router installed. The Sonos S1 app (on iPod touch) now can’t find my2 x play 5s, when I try to connect to existing system.Do I try to connect both 5s at the same time, or should I connect one then the second one.All my music is on the iPod so I don’t want to have to buy a new device and upload it all. Has anyone had this issue and if so, how did they resolve it.Any help appreciated, otherwise I’m back to playing cds 😩
I set up a Netgear mesh system around the home for better Wi-Fi coverage. I’ve spent almost 2 hours attempting to have my Sonos system run on the stronger, better coverage mesh system. I’ve set all of my speakers, 8 in all, to the Netgear Wi-Fi, which has a different I.D than my main router. All my speakers showed up in my Sonos app, except my Move, and have played music through all speakers after changing the Wi-Fi to the Netgear mesh. Now when opening the Sonos app it doesn’t show any speakers set up in my system. The app searches for my speakers but cannot find them after trying for about 15 minutes. Do I need to do a hard reset? I followed the instructions within the app to change my Wi-Fi. At first it was successful. Not so much now. Any suggestions? Thanks for any help.
Cross posting here from the Reddit group.I just finished listening to the Q&A and reviewing a lot of posts in this group but I don't think that I fully understand. (By the way, the link in the email didn’t work on my computer and I had to log on late using my mobile.)I want to use two ERA speakers as rear speakers to pair with my Arc and Subwoofer. I am interested in the ERA speakers because of the line in option to use with a CD player or turntable. I also want to use the system for Bluetooth streaming.I heard during the recording that the ERA speakers is the easiest way to connect other content to the overall speaker system, but then I also heard that the sound system was only one way from the ARC to the ERA speakers. From the comments in this group, it sounds like I can get this setup to work by doing different setups for each use case, but that is not clear.I do understand that streaming from my mobile will not provide Atmos level sound, but how do you set up the system to be
I have an fifth wheel RV with a Winegard 1000 gateway. I use a T-Mobile data plan. All of my components connected to the gateway.TV Livingroom TV outside Tapo camera Alexa dot Cell phones Laptop Sonos P5 Gen 1The gateway was having problems so Wingard sent me a replacement. Same model. With this unit I can’t connect my Alexa or Sonos. https://winegard.com/gateway/I suspect the security protocol? I’m no expert. The protocol settings are: OPEN WPA-PSK (TKIP) WPA2-PSK (AES) WPA2-PSK (TKIP) & WPA2-PSK (SHA256) WPA-PSK (TKIP) & WPA2-PSK (AES)Using 2.4GHzI’ve tried to factory reset. Still not connecting. Took it in my house and connected to my home WIFI no problem. Any help would be appreciated.
My subwoofer is dead
I am using sonos in one resort, I can access to the wifi without (open router) any password but then the system is asking for a code to access to the data and i get an error 1101 or 800 during setup. How can i manage this with my symfonisk? Moderator edit: corrected typos for clarity
ok, i’ve have a set of the original first gen Play 5, Play 3 and Play 1 that i purchased new in the box about 10 years. i originally had them set up at a really nice and pretty large apartment, but i moved from there about 5 years ago and they’ve been sitting in a container in a closet since then because i live in a smaller studio now and i haven’t used them in about 5+ years. so i decided to give them to a really good friend, but when i tried to set them up over her house the other night we ran into nothing but problems. all 3 speakers work fine and power up fine when i plugged them in, but the Sonos app(s) now are completely different than the one i used a decade ago, and the S1 app would only pick up the Play 1 speaker (which i’m not sure was made after 2015 or not because i’m not sure if i had it when i originally set up the original system, the original system may have just been the Play 5 and Play 3 and i may have gotten the Play 1 after i moved in 2014). so i was able to see the
I have the soundbar connected to the Arc port on my TV. I tg rued playing something using my Apple TV and PlayStation but it says it’s playing in Dolby 5.2 and not Dolby Atmos. Any idea where the issue might be?
I have older Sonos speakers (play 1 and 3 as well as the play bar and the sub) that worked great. I have just moved to a new place. My Wi-Fi provider gave me a new router and now I can’t seem to connect any of my speakers. I have tried a factory reset on one play 1 and the sub but that didn’t work. I am wondering if there is an issue with the Wi-Fi b/g and whatever the latest Wi-Fi protocols are. Would that be causing the issue? If not what suggestions do you have?
Why can’t I reduce the bass when connected via Bluetooth? I don’t have wi-fi at home and am really stuck with terrible sounding bass-heavy sound?
