I have a new router and password and since then cannot connect to my Sonos system. I have followed all the steps carefully but it still does not connect. Also in total I bought different Sonos speakers as I live in two places. I have bought 4 Play: 1 devices of which 3 are here. It only shows me 2 and none of them have the serial number of the ones I bought for here. At least one should, but none do.  what could the problem be?

As a temporary measure, try connecting at least one speaker with Ethernet cable whilst you try the setup again. 
 

But I’m also a bit confused: if you can’t set up the speakers, how can “it only show me 2”?
