From upgrading the Sonos app I’ve had a speaker disappear, once reinstalled after a factory reset it wont link to the existing speaker
Hi, I have a Play 3 - It will not pass the final connection to system check where it plays an ‘audio pin’ - this is both wired and via wifi. I have tried the S1 app but it tells me the Play 3 is on S2 firmware !I’m on the line to Sonos support UK - it estimated 40 mins but I’m now at 50 mins!Is there anything else I can try ?
My system compromises of a gen 1 beam in my sons games room, A gen 1 beam 2 play ones and a sub in the living room and finally 2 play ones in the kitchen. The 2 play ones in the kitchen have so much lag on play, stop volume up and down etc… the other speakers are fine. Now here comes the head scracher the 2 play ones are in the same room as my Unifi AP and connected to the AP on 5ghz and have a strong signal the other rooms are further away and have dropped to 2.4ghz but they all do not have any lag at all.
I’ve had a Beam Gen 2 for a while now, which is connected to my Network by Ethernet on Router 1 and haven’t had any problems. The problem started when I bought a second Beam Gen 2 and tried to connect that to my network via Ethernet to Router 2. As soon as I connect the Ethernet cable, the network becomes unstable, devices keep dropping out and everything has really slow Internet connection. I thought it was the new router (Router 2) that I had bought, but the Asus tech support said it was a device on my network creating a loop. Sure enough, as soon as I unplug the second speaker, the loop stops and everything starts working again.I have successfully set the system up with the second speaker connected through wi-fi and I have no issues. I want to set the second speaker up via Ethernet so it doesn’t hog the wi-fi bandwidth for my other devices when streaming.Another weird thing, is when the second speaker is connected through wi-fi, when I look at the connection to it on my Network G
Can’t select the device to play the music. It stars in the top device in the row. And I can’t rename the group of that top device pair. Please help me to understand the new basics.
Hello wonderful community!I’m having some small event in my garden and plan to play some music for my guests on my five pair and sub gen 3.They will be under the roof of a small kiosk/pavilion so I will not worry about raining on them.My question is does the sub make a difference outside?Thank you, PS: a little annoyed about the latest forced update, but in the end all went well.
I can not search for a song on my iPhone after the update. I can go to diretly to spotify and find a playlist, but i can search for anything, not song album singer etc. The system works with my husbands android phone
Can you connect Sonos SL via Bluetooth without WiFi?
Hi. my Sonos app recently updated. I used to be able to disconnect my music from the Sonos SL speaker via the app. This would stop the music. Since the update this week, I can’t find anywhere on the app to disconnect the music. Is there a way to do this? Thanks.
Hi,I've searched the forums and google but cant seem to find the answer.I have 5 speakers on my network that are loosing some RX packets. 2 x beams and 3 x play 1s. I can see a pattern between these speakers and the rest of my system but I don't know if it related to the packet loss. The 5 speakers all have inet6 addr: in both eth0 (WAN interface) and br0 (LAN bridge), and WM: 0 but no OTP: at the bottom of the list in the Sonos Controller About My system menu. The packet loss is mostly on br0 LAN bridge for all the problem speakers. running /sbin/ifconfigbr0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 94:9F:3E:72:E8:7A inet addr:192.168.1.17 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 inet6 addr: fe80::969f:3eff:fe72:e87a%1995899440/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:505413 errors:0 dropped:421 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:16141 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0
Happy Sunday👋 This question might be solved in other topics…i try look around but i could not find any of my wonders. What is this upgrade discount(or whatever it’s called)?I was checking my gear and it looks like i got two playbase’s with 15% on each….and then what?Let’s say i wanted a Era 300. Can i order one and get 30% off? Or it’s just one for one?(15%)Or let’s say i order a Era 300 bundle(two Era 300’s) witch is discount on….can i get additional 30% off from that deal?In yours opinion….when and what will be an ideal buy from Sonos with 2x15% upgrade discount? Enjoy your Day🙏
I have a Sonos Play 5 (gen 1) and I’d love to add some speakers to our patio as a surprise to my husband for his birthday. These speakers would live outside permanently and ideally be able to play the same music both inside and out when we have friends over. I’m on a budget and I’m also not super knowledgeable about these things. Do I need to have an amp? Can I just do outdoor speakers? Do they have to be Sonos brand? What’s the deal with all this?
Hi, recently updated the Sonos App on my Android phone. Now struggling to see how to adjust the music in the queue. Before I could move songs about, add or delete songs. The functionality appears to have disappeared? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
New to me Sonos One - completed a factory reset - sonos app finds the speaker & asks if i want to connect - Proceed with connection and the app says that a software update must be completed in order to proceed. Successfully initiate the upgrade but it never completes. I have let it run for over 24 hours. I have re-booted my modem, my souter and completed another factory reset and got the same outcome. SONOS Cust Serv (after waiting 90 mins to connect - that should tell you something - has me do it all again and surprise - same outcome ) conclude that the issue is my EERO Router and extenders. Interesting - I have 8 other speakers that work perfectly well on my network. Sonos you can’t have it both ways.
i have just purchased two new 5 speakers and cannot get them to set up. app keeps asking me to update app and then when I try it puts me in a loop asking me to sign in as the system owner. I am the system owner. Does not matter if I try over wifi or directly to router. Have rebooted router, reinstalled app, done anything I can think of. Seems there is no fix that I know of. Is there a fix? I have seen folks mention an app you can download to the mac desktop, but I cannot find that in the app store…. Is there a fix? Or do I box them up and send them back?
I have a Play 1 and a Play 3 (bought in 2014). So first versions of those speakers I believe. To date I was able to keep using them via the S1 app, but last week I had an A/V company install a Sonos Port to re-activate a few in-ceiling speakers in our home. As part of this they added the latest Sonos app to my phone, and now I can no longer connect Play 1 and Play 3 to the app. Can the Play 1 and Play 3 continue to be used? If so, how can I add them to the new Sonos app? The new app does not recognize the Play 1 and Play 3 when I search. If they CAN be added? Can I group them with the Port within the app?
Since the new app is (NOT) working my Sonos One SL stopped working, but the other speaker Sonos One (was stereo with SL in the same group) works well. I tried to reset the speaker to factory defaults, everything works fine in the app, but finaly after connecting to WLAN I got following message:Sonos One SL has been added but may not appear in the system settings. In this case, unplug the power cable and plug it in to complete the setup via the system settings. As I did it still no One SL in the system settings. I tried it with different devices (LG Smartphone, Lenovo tablett) but still no way. Anybodys suggestions? Thanks in advance!
A feature of the new Ace headphones that has been lost in the chaos is that is capable of USB-C to USB-C audio transmission. https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/lossless-audio-requirements-for-sonos-ace?utm_source=retail-care&utm_medium=lossless-requirements&utm_campaign=en-us-retail-care-lossless-requirements This begs the question if the same feature will eventually be added to ERA 100, Era 300, and Move 2 at some point? All 3 of these devices have the ability to play aux input audio with an usb c to 3.5 mm analog adapter (Ace can as well), but cannot play audio USB-C to USB-C. It may be that Sonos can add this in future, after some of the chaos calms down, or it could be that these 3 speakers don’t have the hardware to handle it.Related, but despite not *needing* the the USB-C to 3.5 mm cable, it’s the only Sonos products that includes it. Will this cable work for the Era 100, 300, and Move 2?
Ever since the new update, the Sonos keeps playing in the wrong room and jumping in between rooms any time I try to change it. Is this a known issue? I use these speakers for our business, so they’re about to go in the trash
I’m having trouble with my Era 300 speaker. The Bluetooth cuts out periodically when connected to Android (Pixel 8). It doesn’t appear to happen with iOS (though I’ve not tried it very long with an iPhone). I’ve tried rebooting and pairing again. It happens with AAC and SBC.The support line says an estimated wait of 85 minutes. No way am I waiting that long!I sent diagnostics with the number 1285931875.If I can’t get this solved soon I’ll have to return the speaker.
I have a long history of constant radio drop-outs and numerous conversations with Sonos technicians to try and resolve the issues. They usually come up with the same monotonous fixes which involve switching all the Sonos items on and off, unplugging the router, and/ or changing router settings, changing all range of network channels. Also overtime other equipment has been alleged to be interfering with Sonos ie the Virgin Hub4 (which is now in modem mode and operated through a TP Link router), and the BBC Sounds app, which we have stopped using for the time being. The latest item that is suggested to be interfering with the Sonos system is our Devolo powerline.Just to add interest the Sonos Roam has stopped connecting with the system, although according to the Sonos App it is playing properly. Reading about similar issues and the lack of solutions, it seems that Sonos is just no longer fit for purpose. My system is:Room 1 Home cinema system consisting of Playbar, two x Play 3 and Sub-mi
Hello everyone,i updated to latest app. I am ok with it. There are positives and i can understand people’s frustrations. Hopefully an update soon will fix some of that.my question is - i have 2 rooms on my sonos app , one is living room with beam, sub mini etc and a bedroom one with an era300. If i play music in the bedroom on era 300 but than go to my living room to watch movies, on sonos app i cant get tv room showing hdmi and volume control with sound enhancement etc . It still shows music. i hope it makes sense. Any tips with the buggy app atm to solve this ?
So I guess my wedding playlist, the playlist that I have been curating for the last year and a half, is just gone now? Just in time for the wedding this summer? Awesome! (Sarcasm). I am livid, crushed, and exhausted. Music might not mean anything to you folks who work at SONOS, but it does to your customers. Making the perfect playlist is an art, hunting down songs, placing them in the right order to tell a story, packaging them in the correct list to accomplish a task. You erased years of work. **** me I guess for not taking a screen shot of my lists. $200.00+ for multiple, multiple, multiple, multiple speakers (that can't even pair with a projector screen). Just a waste. this update is horrible, if you don't change it back I expect you will lose so much business. Ugly, dumb, and serves no purpose. last time I ever let Qtip talk me into buying a product. Such a shame. The speakers are amazing. Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.
I wonder is Patrick Spence recently put Bluesound in his house while they work thru the bugs?
