I have folder.jpg files for album art in every single album folder. It has worked great so far. Now I have bought a new Synology NAS and have moved all my music folders there, including the folder.jpg files. Still works great. BUT... If I edit any music file in a folder with the NAS utilites, Sonos stops displaying the album art from the folder.jpg file in the folder. Updating the Music Library doesn't help. It doesn't even help if I delete the old folder.jpg file and put a completely new folder.jpg file in the folder. If I once have edited any music file in that folder, Sonos refuses to display the album art in any folder.jpg file from that folder any more. Why?
i bought several speakers but was never told that i had to keep updating software. i am then told i have to keep checking for software updates and it is my fault that my system forces me to update the software. there is a box saying later but that just sends you back to the update screen. Then you have to reset your password, the email comes through but there is no reset button displayed, you have to click around aimlessly until you find it.I DO NOT WANT TO CHANGE MY PASSWORD. Customer unservices, we are having problems with our phones today, funny that they have problems every time i phone. To update system took 20 min meaning i missed the programme i wanted to listen to .my old transistor radio possibly didn't sound great but at least it worked every time and didn't need updating.

I recently purchased a used ZP100 which has the dim LED problem. It is well out of warrantee, and the "Void if removed" sticker has been removed by the previous owner. I contacted Sonos support due to another problem (which was sorted, and they were very helpful). When I brought up the issue of the dim LED (a common problem with the early ZP100's I believe) I was told that parts are not available, and seeing it has been opened, they would not even look at it!!!! This is the response: "Although the ZP100 was out of warrently, Sonos still supports most legacy Components, including the ZP100. Where for a fraction of the original cost the ZP100 would be repaired or replaced. However, unfortunately because the ZP100 was opened, it is no longer eligible for this repair or replacement. Because Sonos does offer legacy support for its Components, we do not sell parts externally for refurbishment or repair. Please feel free to contact us with any further questions you may have regarding y
Is there a way to make the screen show a volume number/amount? not just "Home cinema +/-" when you're changing the volume?
I m thinking of buying a Beam, I have a hard drive connected to my tv with films on it, using just the Tv it plays them all no problem. I had a old Denon sound base which played them all, but it recently packed in. Tried a Q. Acoustics M2 soundbase, it won’t play the sound on AVI format files, plus it was a bit to boomy for me. I connected it to tv with hdmi arc and also tried tosh digital in case that was an issue, I’ve been told its the soundbase that can’t decode certain file types. I have listened to a beam, thought it was ok, but can’t find out if I would have same problem with this, can’t find a file format list at all, salesman couldn’t help at all. So all I need to know is will it play sound on films from my tv/ hard drive, the films are in MKV, MP4 and AVI format. If so I’ll buy one,
Can I have the opinions from those of you who have or have had experience of using the Sonos Sub with the new Beam and Play 1’s - separately i.e. not as a 5.1 set up (unfortunately i’m unable to use my Play 1’s as rear channels so i’m using the x2 Play 1’s for music and Beam for TV). Is the improvement it makes to the sound worth spending the £700 ish or should I leave alone.
Great sounding product and managing your library and music is easy. Now why not make a complete interface for Crestron and other home control systems so that you can actually expand your market? The interaction between your product and Crestron is really crippled and lame. Don't be like MS and Apple and try to protect your IP by inconveniencing your customers and making them look for other choices.
My Sonos system keeps skipping songs halfway through. I have read several comments from others and their troubleshooting ideas. Have tried it all. No luck. I've submitted a diagnostic # 2017805003. Please help!!!
I am looking to create a multi-zone system in my home using built in speakers and running home run wires to separate connect:amps to create my zones. I will have zones in the traditional places ie., kitchen, living room, outside, etc. but, my question is how do I set up my TV room? I want to have surround sound in my TV/Living room so, is there an easy way to be able to use the previously mentioned built in speakers that are connected to the connect:amp for the TV and still be able to use those speakers for music (not at the same time)? Do I need to separate connect:amps for the same set of speakers? Or, is it easier just to buy a sonos surround sound system for my TV and keep it separate? Thanks and sorry if this is a dumb question!
I have a Beam connected to a TCL 55p607 through ARC. It blocks my TV's IR receiver, so I have CEC turned on and it works perfectly when I use the Beam as a soundbar for the TV. The issue is, if I use the Beam to play Spotify or don't use the TV for a day, it seems to lose the CEC connection. When I try to turn the TV on later, Beam won't send the IR signal, so I have to walk over and point the remote past the Beam. Once my TV is on, it seems to reconnect to the Beam and the CEC works great again. Is there something I can do to prevent having to manually turn on my television every time I use my Sonos for something besides TV watching or go for a day or so without using it?
Add to your FAQ how to program the new Xfinity XR2 remote to control Sonos. The Xfinity manual for the new remote (comes with the new X1 box and service) does not include a remote code for any Sonos products. Sonos tech instructed me to program the remote with the code for any other audio device, then go through the Sonos remote programming steps. It worked!
Why can't TV input be renamed and a selectable source like line-in options? I used to have a Play:5 and recently did what I thought was an upgrade and moved to a Playbase. I'm finding the optical input more annoying to use. I'd like to have it come up as a source in the main list like the line-in used to be. It also seems like I can't rename it and it just keeps being called 'TV' even though it's not a TV optical out.
Why won’t the sonos beam play TV sound when you turn the TV on? Is there a setting someplace? I shouldn’t need to f around with my phone to watch TV. The beam is connected to my Samsung TV via HDMI on an Audio channel. Sound plays once I select TV from my phone, but it’s crazy to need to log into an app on your phone to listen to your TV. Also, what’s up with one hour+ wait times with Sonos customer support?
If u have a 2018 LG TV with lipsync issues...using an Xbox One as the TV Tuner(optical out from Xbox to Playbar) will fix it. I tried dumping the Xbox as the tuner and just use the TV and that was a mistake.
Sound drops briefly (millisecs) & randomly on Beam when playing catch-up streams via Amazon FireTV . ARC on Samsung M series TV. Diagnostic number: 660464983
My Sonos system (pair of Play:1s) works fine when streaming from Apple Music but when I play music direct from those stored on my device (iPhone 😎 it consistently skips forward to next when only halfway through a track! The next song plays immediately, for a while, until it too skips on to the next song. It used to work fine but this problem has been persistent for a while now. Is there anything I can do to stop this happening? Thanks
Having a few issues getting my new Beam to play nice with Apple TV 4k... Initially I had a long lip-sync / delayed audio issue when my Apple TV audio output was set to 'Apple TV', by default. I switched audio output to my Beam (exclusively), which resolved the audio delay issue, but now I'm getting very odd spikes in volume in-between episodes on Netflix (via Apple TV), where the audio output seems to be resetting / reverting back to default 'Apple TV', instead of to the Beam. This is an issue because I'm back to my initial lip-sync issue, but most annoyingly the volume spikes up really load - which my wife & sleeping baby are not finding amusing! My Setup: Mi Tv 4C 50" 4K HDR Apple TV 4K (plugged into regular HDMI 2) Sonos Beam (Plugged into ARC HDMI) Any advice on how to resolve this, would be much appreciated!
I use Sonos for virtually all my music playback - including local radio stations which I bring in through Tune-In and it works incredibly well except when streaming my library from my NAS which is hardwired to my network. 99% of my music is uncompressed ALAC or FLAC and it buffers so much that songs skip, drop ad are basically un-listenable. If I play one of MP3 or AAC files ..... no problem at all. My home is covered with sonos with 1 Boost Hardwired to the router alongside the NAS with 2 AMPs 1 Connect a Play 3 and a Play 5. This is a 2 part question: (1) Will adding more Boosts improve the network congestion (it's just my wife and I so there aren't many devices on the network) and help the streaming issue? (2) I've been thinking about getting a Mesh Network Setup Would configuring the Sonos to use the Wifi Network instead of its own mesh improve things. I understand there are many variable that affect the outcome so I'm looking for generalities that may help me work t
Can we get a visualizer please!
Hi im new to Sonos, just purchased a beam, two ones and a sub. Is it possible to add the Phillips Hue to thew system without the hue bridge? Thanks Daniel
Hey hey! I'm having problem adding the #beam to Apple Home. I've followed the instructions from the website. I've even entered the code, but the speaker is not showing up in Apple Home when I select Add Accessory. I've restarted the Beam and still no luck. Any idea?
Yesterday I exchanged the receivers in my audio setup from an older JVC to a Marantz SR5012 machine. The Marantz works fine playing radio (tuner) and TV (connected via HDMI), driving 4 speakers and a subwoofer. However, when I connect the Sonos Connect unit, via digital optical cable into the "CD" connector, the following happens: * initially, everything is fine * then I start the music stream on the Sonos app * the receiver starts playing the music stream for maybe a second or two, and it sounds good * then the Marantz receiver turns itself off, slowly blinking the red power LED (maybe 2/sec) I have verified the cabling of my speakers, and found no issue (besides, they work fine with other music sources). I tried using a different optical cable, and even using an RCA connection - the issue remains the same. There is no problem with overheating the receiver (I probed the temperature, it's 81F/27C). Any advice?
I have a Samsung frame tv and my sonos playbar is connected via an optical cable, the only option. I have set the the TV to external speakers to use the sonos devices. The only problem is I can only adjust volume using my iphone and the sonos app. Samsung tell me the only way I could use their remote to vontrol volume is if the playbar was connected to an hdmi port
Hi, I have been spending a lot of time trying to create a simple and easy way to get IFTTT integration working. I know a few people would really like to have an easy way to get that, so here is one solution (the best, in my opinion, of course): http://www.bronos.net/ It is basically the combination of a locally hosted machine (preferably a raspberry pi), which connects to a public broker server on the internet and waits for commands that you issue from IFTTT. To achieve this previously, you needed very tedious "hacks" using dropbox and various python scripts, or my HTTP API but dealing with port forwards, dynamic DNS hostnames and even your own SSL certificates. With this you flash an SD-card with everything pre-installed, visit the local website to get knowledge about which will be your unique, public URL endpoint, and use that in your IFTTT webhooks. Total cost would be a raspberry pi (B, 2 or 3, doesn't matter), the peripherals to it (SD-card, PSU, a case probably), an
