We have the Sonos One speakers. We noticed that the “Play” and “Shuffle” buttons disappear for many, but not all, of our saved albums. Often occurs after we play the complete album. To get them to reappear, we have to delete the album and re-save it. We are using Amazon music for the music source. Does anyone know why this is happening.
How can I stream CBC music streams and podcasts from the CBC Radio & Music service? I'm able to stream the live radio stations, "CBC Radio 1" and "CBC Music On Air" (aka Radio 2) from various markets, but I don't see the other CBC music streams or podcasts on Sonos that are available in the corporation's own CBC Listen phone app.
Sonos claim better sound quality over the Connect. I use the Sonos Connect digital output with an outboard Rega digital to analogue processor. Would the sound quality of the Port be any better via digital output of the Connect? I doubt it! Have Sonos increased the digital resolution - no. So the only reason for me to upgrade is to keep pace with the latest development of the Sonos operating system. However, being able to access to my digital music library collected over many years is worth more to me than the cost to upgrade. So I will probably do so at some point. Regrettably, in my system this appears to be a sideways upgrade. David
Hi have a connect gen2 that is very temperamental. Sometimes it works great and other times it just won’t connect anything. Is there a more reliable alternative to link my turntable and CD player to my Sonos system? Thanks!
My elac speakers doesnt sound good connected to my sonos amp;ifier, the sub sonos also is connected and i thonk the sub is the only one that makes the sound good, elac lacks power!
To all Sonos experts out there! Long post alert and newbie question here -- I would like to know any possible tweaks or practical upgrades on how to improve my sonos experience -- I have the following set up: Room 1:- LG TV- Sonos Arc- Sonos Sub- 2 Play 1 as rear surrounds Room 2: (Room acoustics is not ideal)- Turntable- Sonos Amp (powers the 2 floorstanding Jamo E470 speakers)- Play 5 (as center)- 2 Play 1 as rear surrounds My issues are:1. I would like to improve my vinyl (2 channel) listening experience as the clarity of instruments is not there. I'm only 60% satisfied with the Sonos Amp. It is ok when I play vinyl with the surround sound on both rooms or one.2. But when I play Hi-Res, 24 bit music on youtube coming from Room 1 - my experience is a bit better in both areas. The quality and the listening experience is not exhaustive, even if you increase the volume a little bit.3. I just love to enjoy my vinyl just like the way I listened to hi-res music but I don't know how... Wha
Hello,When I try to start music playing through the Sonos app nothing happens until I physically press play on the speaker. This occurs on all my speakers (playbar, beam, play1). Once pressing play it seems to work fine while I am using it. It seems to have issues in between uses. I do have Alexa, ring doorbell, etc connected up and it’s possible this occurs after a notification. Any idea why the speakers seem to go offline in between uses of the Sonos app like this?Thank you.
Hello guys! This is my first post so forgive anything which may seem a little out of place for the forum.Okay this is my setup:Sonos Arc, One SL (2), Sonos Sub (Gen3), Denon AVC-X3700H.I have quite a number of HDMI devices such as Blu-ray DVD player, Nintendo Switch, PS4, Sky etc hence my need for the AV receiver. I’ve connected the Sonos Arc directly to my Panasonic TX-55HZ1500B which support eARC on all it’s four ports which are currently enabled. After connecting these to the receiver, I’m only able to use the receiver when it’s off else the Sonos system doesn’t produce ANY sound whatsoever! Funny story is, I’m still able to use the receiver to switch between devices while it’s off and it gives the correct resolution such as UHD, Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Vision etc for the devices that support those. My first attempt to connect them found that it all worked together while the receiver was on but after needed to switch the systems off completely, the whole thing fell apart! I
I have a LG CX and the Sonos Arc, connected via eARC and a suitable HDMI cable. On Netflix, if I change the TV audio settings to Passthrough, the Sonos app is showing me Dolby Atmos (DD+) in the “About my system” section. However, if I change the TV audio settings to Auto, the Sonos app is showing me only Dolby Atmos. Without the DD+. Can someone explain to me if there is a difference here, and if so, what setting gives the better audio quality? Thanks a lot!
I have three Sonos Player 1s. I saw old posts with this same topics, but no resolution. I have not used these speakers in a week, yet my home Network with 3 Ubiquity APs running about 30 clients show the top 3 highest upload to network are the three Sonos players. Mind you, I have four professional adults working from home and two kids home schooling. Our work apps and video conferences should be eclipsing any other upload. Why the heck is Sonos showing at 140MB, 100MB and 98 MB upload each yet they are not even in use? What the heck are they uploading? I have ipad and iphone apps for Sonos, background refresh turned off, but bluetooth and local network turned on. Version 11.2.4, Build 57.4.83220, Sonos S1. use alexa, spotify...
Hello all. My Play One rears have started fairly regularly echoing on TV playback after more than two years of ownership. I have changed nothing in terms of hardware: same Playbase, same Sony 4K Android TV, same BT Home Hub 6 and BT TV 4K PVR. I am 100% certain it's not the TV speakers kicking in as when I turn the surrounds off through the app, the echoing stops and doesn't return when I turn surrounds back on. Then, after a short while which could be minutes, hours or even days, the echoing will occur again. Any help would be appreciated. Regards. Barry ☺️
Is the combination of Arc, Play One and Five possible? I’m currently running the current standard; an Arc (2) Play One and sub, I love my set up, sounds great but I’d also like to grow it a bit more by adding a pair of Fives (considering I have a Five is a spare bedroom that gets little to no use...)
I understand that music playback sounds better when one sets their surrounds to “full” rather than the default “ambient” but it is not as good as stereo.I do my primary music listening in the same room that I do my television viewing. I want to be able to have my surrounds play in stereo when I’m listening to music and then, of course, take care of surround duties when I’m watching TV; I’d rather not buy a separate pair of speakers for only music in this room. What I really want is to upgrade to a pair of Fives and add the Sub, but I won’t as long as I have to go through the hassle of breaking up the grouping with the sound bar and then re-grouping to watch TV. When I had my traditional home theater set up I didn’t have to suffer with mono sound when I listened to music. When Sonos updated the app, I thought this would be fixed. Alas not. I know that what I want is not possible, but I would really appreciate it if Sonos could explain why it is not possible.
I am no longer getting sound through my Sonos connect from my turntable. It is connected to Sonos one speakers and was working fine last week. I have looked on the Sonos tips, but no settings have changed since last week so that does not help. My connect still appears as connected in my app. Any suggestions?
Hi,if I set No SUB by app in a 5.1 setup with DD 5.1 stream the .1 channel will redirect to L and R speakers? Thanks
Help!I am failing to get sound from my turntable. I have the Pro-ject Essential III (no pre-amp) connected with the turntable RCA wires into the Pro-Ject Phono Box S2 RCA in ports. Then from the Amp Box out ports connected to the Sonos Amp RCA in port.I can get sound to the speakers if I stream music into the Sonos Amp from my phone. But turning on the turntable and playing vinyl, I only hear the slightest sound from the turntable. Not sound through the Amp or speakers.Somewhere between the Turntable and Amp is a problem, but I have tried everything I can think. The turntable has no pre-amp, but I have an external pre-amp connected. There is no switch on the turntable for phone/line out. The Phono Box S2 seems to be working, at least the light is on. Help!!!!Thank you for any insights!
Hi all,i have an lg C9 updated with the last firmware version.today I bought a Sonos Arc.I had no issue in setting app the app. I got a firmware update at the first run.my issue is: no Dolby atmos I’m using a cable able to run content in 8k60hz (but I tried with the cable come with the arc).I set hdmi2 with eArc on, pcm pass through. When I play content from YouTube to test the Dolby atmos the app display just stereo pcm 2.0 or silenced.Tried Netflix with a Dolby atmos content and the app display Dolby digital 5.1 plusWhat I’m missing? I read a bunch of threads trying the suggestions but still in pain. Help please!
I’ve been looking recently at getting a Port to use in my office and bringing in my receiver and 5 disc CD changer -- probably going to add a TT as well. I have a stero pair of Play:1’s in there and plan to add a sub next time I can get a reburb/open box or sale. The Port would help me even without the TT and I see them listed on eBay as “BRAND NEW, IN BOX” for $349.xx USD. What is the catch here? How are they $100 off MSRP? Closest I found to that was BB “open box - excellent” for $381.xx but it sold too quick.Should I just pick one up off of eBay? Is there a benefit to buying from BB over eBay? Any other buying advice/tips?Thanks!
Sorry for yet another lip sync thread but get frustrated with my current set up. My problem seems to be the other way round to most people’s in that I can’t delay the audio enough via the Sonus app to get good lip sync. It is nearly there but not quite.System is Sky Q > Sony AF9>Sonus Beam with SL surrounds.Watch Sky Q on TV internal speakers and lip sync is fine. Watch TV tuner/apps on TV internal speakers and lip sync is fine. Watch either with sound via eARC to Sonus Beam and ai have TV dialog sync all the way to 5 to nearly get the lip sync OK.Would swapping to optical make any difference, if so what would I lose? I think swapping from Dolby Digital Plus to Dolby Digital through the complete chain might have made a small improvement. But if it has it is marginal.
Good day,Sonos Move cannot be paired with Samsung TV (model UE49MU6472) via Bluetooth or wifi. The TV finds the speaker through the bluetooth speaker, but cannot connect it. It connects other devices without any problems. In the case of wifi, the TV does not even offer it to me. Both devices are on the same network. Can you please advise and help me set up at least one connection method?
Here is my setup. Samsung Q7FN, Nvidia Shield Pro, Sonos Arc. Using hdmi arc. We use nvidia shield for tv not the samsung tv built in apps. Everytime we switch from Sling tv to Netflix or Prime video the sound goes out and I have to go to my sound source on tv and cycle through them to get the sonos sound back on. How do I fix this? Fwiw our previous sound bar never had this issue and this sound bar is the only change we have made.
I need to replace one of my Connects that is Gen 1 and therefore not Sonos II compliant. I will be picking up a Port to replace it.My question: if you are using the digital output to go into an outboard DAC, is the digital signal presumably a pure unprocessed bitstream? I had assumed that this would be the case with both units, but have read that if you use the Port even for volume level, you are implementing a layer of signal processing that may/will affect sound quality. I do not know if that was the same situation with the Connect. When I get the Port I will have the choice of using it in one of my high res systems where volume is adjusted by another unit or in a secondary system where I do use the volume adjustment of the Sonos unit.Does use of volume control with the Port affect sound quality?Does use of volume control with the Connect affect sound quality?FWIW, I have found the on board DA conversion on the Connect to be adequate for background music but deficient for serious li
Hi. Every time ‘without fail’ I go onto the sonos app I get a different speaker dropped from my setup. Then sometimes it will not connect to anything. Then sometimes it takes about 30seconds then I’m in with all 3 speakers connected. This has only recently started happening and used to work absolutely fine, even with the S2 app. There is nothing wrong with the power connection to the sonos products, nothing wrong with the internet connection and I’ve even completely reconnected every speaker after rebooting the router. Is anybody else getting this issue?. It’s so frustrating and am running out of ideas. I’ve even changed the wifi router channel to be on the suggested 1 or 6 (2ghz). Still nothing. Thanks Ross
Hi all, I was hoping I could have some recommendations for a Sonos set up for our living room. We have a 55” TV in the corner of the 15’ square room with the sofa on the wall opposite. My options are either an Arc on its own, or the 5.0 Surround Set with the Beam and One SL pair.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks
Hi guysProbably it is not a very smart question, but I want to get it right before buying something. Currently I have a LG Oled 65 inches with 4 HDMI ports ( 1 of them is eARC ). I have my Sonos 5.2.2 with the arc, two subs gen 3, and two sl. So far, all good. I have 2 consoles, one bluray 4k all connected to the tv. Then I can’t connect anything else to the TV. I don’t know which should be the best setup to connect more hdmi devices ( like my apple tv 4k, fire tv 4k, etc… ). What is the best option ?How can I expand this setup that I can hook up more HDMI devices ? Should I buy an AV receiver ? I heard they don’t work with Sonos Arc. Any suggestions will be more than welcome!Thank you
