Hi all,Hoping someone with more knowledge than me about speaker ohms can help answer my question.I have 2 of these speakers: https://www.digitalcinema.com.au/jamo-8-52dvca2-in-ceiling-speaker.htmlThey are stereo speakers so each speaker has a L and R channel input.I will be putting one speaker in 2 different small bathrooms and connecting them to a single Sonos Connect Amp.Then to have the ability to switch between the bathrooms if need I will be installing this switch: https://www.selby.com.au/av-distribution/av-switches-splitters/switches/audio/2-way-speaker-switch-200w-a1003.htmlMost of the time I will just have both bathrooms playing together but on the specs sheet it says:Impedance Chart (for 8 Ohm Speakers)Only switch 1 on: 8 Ohm impedanceOnly switch 2 on: 8 Ohm impedanceSwitches 1 & 2 on: 16 Ohm impedanceDoes this mean that I will have a 16 Ohm impedance and will that be ok with the Sonos amp?Is there another way I should be doing this?Cheers!
I have a sound base, sub and two Play 1’s for my home theater in a living room that is approx 14 x 18 feet. One 18 foot side is open to a dining room. Equipment yeahI am about to wall mount a 75” tv and want to hang a sound bar and move the sound base to another room. We sit 13 feet from the screen which will be 75-80 inches. Should I buy an arc or a beam? Please explain why you advise one or the other. Thank you fellow Sonos enthusiast.
When I turn on my Apple TV it has no sound and I need to link the sound into my beam and Sonos speakers every time. This happens for both movies and music. I love the Sonos sound but so far my experience with the system is it’s very temperamental.
I dearly want to throw my complete Sonos system in the garbage but I can’t because I have invested over $7,000 in equipment prior to the S2 upgrade. The S2 upgrade has reduced my mixed system to barely operable garbage.
Hello I have been using the Sonos amp with third party speakers for a few weeks and for the most part love it. I'd like to suggest some enhancements. Are any of these possible?- Bluesound (Sonos' competitor) has a volume leveling option which is great when streaming music from a playlist with different artists and recordings. It would be nice to see this option in Sonos. - EQ and sub settings that can be customized and saved for different audio sources/inputs (mainly home theatre and music) as I often have to adjust levels when switching between content. - A display of audio stream quality when playing music through the Sonos app. Even just to verify it is coming through at CD quality/hi-res. Amazon's music app has this for example. - A FireTV Sonos app. I could then run everything right from my TV and not have to use the phone. I also wondered if it's possible to enable RCA input functionality without internet. The other day my internet went down and I had hoped to listen to some viny
Version 0.3 of SoCo-CLI, the open source Sonos command line controller for Windows, macOS and Linux, is now available:https://github.com/avantrec/soco-cli/blob/v0.3.5/README.mdThis release adds an Interactive Shell Mode, and also provides an API to allow the use of SoCo-CLI as a simple, high level library for inclusion in other Python programs. For those of us who enjoy using the command line to get things done, the interactive shell is fast and convenient to use. The shell is started using sonos -i, then just type ? for available commands. Most of the huge range of SoCo-CLI control commands are available:https://github.com/avantrec/soco-cli/blob/v0.3.5/README.md#interactive-shell-mode
After updating to S2, my Beam started making a buzzing sound when playing from the tv. If I disconnect the cable from the tv hdmi ARC port , the sound keeps buzzing and only Stops. when I disconnect the cable from the beam the buzzing only comes from the beam and not from the surrounds im using the included original cable when playing music from Spotify it plays normally. any idea what might be causing this? thanks,
I have purchased a CR200 remote and am unable to connect it to Sonos net. I have a bridge and 1 zone players connected over Sonos net (not wifi) and can connect my iPhone but the CR200 will not connect. It sees the network and says it is trying to connect but then fails and says your Sonos component was not found. I've reset my router and the Sonos system and reset it up from scratch but still no joy. I also tried pulling its battery out and didnt work, the CONTROL still does not connect.
I’m thinking about expanding my Sonos system to my wired speakers with a Sonos Amp. Now, this product is about to be 2yo, you think is a good time to buy or a Sonos Amp 2 might be on it’s way? Thanks!
The music I play from the Sonos app is registered in Last.fm. The problem is that the name of the used Sonos device is also transferred. The example below shows how my device named “ALRUM” is included in the artist name (Pavement). This is terribly annoying as I have to manually edit all registered plays on Last.fmIs there any solution for this?
Hi! I upgraded from S1 to S2 and my beam couldnt broadcast from airplay. Had tried uninstall and reset everything to no avail. I’m using IOS14.4.
Hi folks, I can’t get 2 different Ports to play different music at the same time. I thought the answer was here, but I don’t see a “Rooms” tab in my S2 app. (Photo of that thread below). How do I play different music on 2 different ports from the S2 iOS app?
So when I search for Artists, Albums or Songs within the Sonos app, I get no results from Tidal or Spotify. E.g. search for Beatles and nothing. However when I search Playlists I get results from both Tidal and Spotify. I have tried chatting with support but getting terrible customer service and nobody is responding to me. Has anyone else experienced this? I have tried authorizing again, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and I have rebooted the router, nothing solves this. It is happening n multiple devices
I was wondering if someone could help me with this issue, which I have ignored for a couple months now. I have x2 Ikea symfonisk sonos speakers that I had linked to my Apple TV. Until December they were working fine but suddenly stopped working altogether. I decided to reset the speakers and set them up again and whilst doing this reset the Apple TV as well. The TV can identify the speakers (when I press the TV button on the handset) but when I select them as an option (tick the circle) it times out and reverts to the speakers in the TV. I know the speakers are working as I can link my iPhone to them but when done via the Apple TV box, nothing. I’ve carried out a few forum searches on this and it seems that others have had a similar issue. Most people seem to have lost the link. I haven't but the link no longer seems to work. Any help would be appreciated
Hello, I would like to add a subwoofer for basses on my Sonos Home Cinéma. But there is only one model, and the prices is just ridiculous. Are they other ways to install a subwoofer on a Sonos Home Cinéma ? Maybe with sonos port/amp? Thank you !
Diagnostic report No: 960637960HiI've recently bought the LG CX55 OLED, I’ve bought another beam, one connected easy to my Samsung KS7000, however the connection to the LG is a nightmare, by tinkering with the settings, I managed once to get it to work, since then nothing. I’ve looked at another post on here, removed hdmi’s, put the settings to exactly the same as mentioned and still nothing It’s a pain to say the least, this really should not be this difficult for LG to get right. I have all the latest updates on the Sonos app and the tv.Its so temperamental 😫🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Hi!My power cable burnt. And a similar cable is no where to be found. Sonos webpage don't ship to uae? Buying from USA site is 70 usd for a power cable. What to do here? See picture for exact cable needed. This is not standard
Hi does anyone know how to get my Sonos soundbar to work with my of TV. It won't adjust the volume with the LG remote. Thanks Graham
Hi All,Has anyone seen any official release notes for the new software update 12.2.3 released approx. 3 days ago?The Sonos site still appears to be showing the current version as 12.2.2 on the release notes page of their website?Strange the release notes aren’t updated at the same time that they release the software.Sonos the give away is in the name “Release Notes”… IE: Notes when you release software!
Hi I have just purchased a Beam soundbar, linked to a Samsung tv, watching through SkyQ, there is a delay or advance I can’t tell, on the lip sync but no matter what I change on sky the tv or sonos app the lip sync is still terrible, I’ve read a few issues on here and tried all them but nothing is working, starting to thing of returning it as it’s really annoying and at a cost of £400 I would expect no issue from the off as I have had with previous soundbars. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you
I just bought a new router… all my Sonos products are now reset and on the new system… except for Playbase that will not reset… Any ideas?
I am thinking about getting the new Sonos Amp and wondered about the subwoofer crossover. Can anyone provide the technical details of the crossover when plugging in a third party sub? It says the crossover is user adjustable from 50-110 Hz. Does that mean when active, it’s both a low pass for the sub out as well as a high pass for the speakers (at the selected frequency)? What slope is the crossover (X dB / octave)? Is it the same slope for low pass and high pass? Finally, for those using the Amp with a third party sub, how do you like it? How is the bass blend between sub and speakers? (please list where you have your crossover set) Thank you!
I have a Arc, sub, and play ones as surrounds. I am debating on getting another sub for the system and play 5’s as surround speakers. I listen to a lot of music and my living room is very open with about 12 ft ceilings. Does anyone else have this configuration?
I am purchasing Sonos arc and sub. I am conflicted on purchasing (2) one SL or purchasing the amp so I can run speakers. My room is 15 x 20 with 8ft ceiling and my recliner couch is against the rear wall. I have a few questions. Can I connect 2 in ceiling rear speakers and 2 inwall left and right? If so, can I use 1 Sonos amp to do so?Aside from cost and installation. Will one application sound better than the other? As a note, my Primary use is for home theater but how for an adequate music listening. I appreciate any and all suggestion and guidance. I know you guys are all busy!
