Lost a room from the App. Unfortunately it’s the room where I listen most. I’ve followed all the online suggestions for unplugging, rebooting etc, and have tried changing wireless channels without success (switched from channel 6 to 1 then 11, now back on 6).Diagnostic ref is 1408381915There is a current problem with Virgin Media services in my area. On demand services have been patchy of late (e.g. iPlayer won’t load) and Virgin now have a system message up stating that on demand services will be down till end Monday (1Feb21) - could these issues be related?
Evening,Got an item on backorder. Is there any warning before they try and take funds? Don't really want to sit with a chunk of cash in my regular account for that long.CheersJim
Hi,I am considering buying a Sonos system to create a multi-room music experience at home. I currently have a good amplifiers/radio/speaker system in the living room and understand that a Sonos Port (449€) would be appropriate to serve as a Sonos hub for the set-up.Also the Sonos One SL (199 €) would be a good kitchen speaker integrated into the system. The problem is connecting my B&W Zeppelin Wireless to the set-up. The Zeppelin can connect via Bluetooth or a 3.5 mm aux input, but I can’t find a suitable Sonos component to connect it. Sonos doesn’t support bluetooth connections and the Sonos Port seems to be overkill, since all I need would be a Sonos SL, but without the speaker (should not cost more than 100€).Is there something I am missing, or should I rather look at other brands of multi-room equipment.
I have a play 5 gen 2 and I have just bought a Sonos 0ne gen 2 with voice control and it say they cannot pair. Can anyone help please. It’s starting to drive me mad!!!
hiThis last few weeks I have had various updates to the sonos app, can anyone from sonos tell me what the fixes and improvements actually are instead of some mundane patch notes about “various fixes and stability”I have noticed no difference whats so ever with 12.2.3, 12.2.4 and 12.2.5 all of which have released in recent weeks.Just be nice to get better patch notes on each version. Thanks
I have just purchased a second CR 200 for my existing S1 system. The first CR 200 is connected but intermittantly stops working. The second controller will not connect to my system. The message the CR 200 is displaying is that is it is “searching for Sonos components… The network configuration for this controller has changed.” Understand this as it was connected to a different network. Having spoken with Sonos they say they have a live issue with connecting new equipment to an existing system and I need to wait for that to be resolved. I beleive this is a brush off. Can anyone assist?
I have two first gen Play 5s, and they both play music individually, but I cannot get them to connect in stereo or play in a group together. I’ve assigned them their own IPs, and connected them to the router via Ethernet, but nothing seems to work.
Different channels have VERY different volume levels when using the Beam with my Samsung QA65Q60TA TV. Some channels are super quiet and others blow you across the room. Its worth noting that I am watching TV through Foxtel IQ4 box. Any help is greatly appreciated!
I just upgraded from Connect:Amp to Amp. I notice a big difference in volume at the same setting, which I expected, but also a huge difference in sound quality. Bass is way fuller, mids and treble way clearer. Overall, much “punchier”. I did not expect that. My speakers are Martin Logan Motion 40s.Anyone else’s experience of this upgrade?
Wondering with this update today if anyone has noticed a fix or correction using LG CX with Arc & Apple TV 4K.
Is it possible to schedule the night mode sound setting. I would be nice to switch at 09:00PM till 09:00AM to night mode, and the other time in normal mode.
I have one of my rooms set up with a Play bar and two Play 1 speakers connected as a stereo pair. One of my Play 1 speakers has started to vibrate/buzz when the base is set in the middle which gets worse when the bass is increased. I now have to play music with reduced bass, no loudness and the treble up and it just about works. It sounds like a physical problem rather than anything else.Is there a life expectancy on these speakers as I have only had them a few years whereas my B&O Theater system has been going for more than 15 years with no problems?Just wondering if failure is built in to get you to upgrade to the latest version of the product. Has anyone else had similar issues?
Hi, does anyone know anything about the Violet SmartSwitch? I don’t see any mention of ‘Works with Sonos’ approval on their website.www.violet-ultra.co.uk
We moved to a new home a few years ago and my advanced Marantz receiver and expensive speakers just wasn’t going to fit. And I bought an entertainment cabinet with a shelf for the receiver that was smaller than the Marantz. So initially I bought an expensive soundbar. The Martin Logan Cadence. It sounded great, but it was an HDMI arc setup and it didn’t like my LG OLED TV. After a long dual with tech support, I returned it and got the more expensive Martin Logan Vision X with optical input only. This sounded even better but it had a quirk that when changing channels or playing a music playlist, it skipped the first few seconds of the audio. Argh. It was not for me so I changed course and bought a slim Marantz receiver (that fit in the cabinet) and a passive soundbar (Martin Logan SLM X3) plus a sub and satellites . This was working with everything I threw at it but the sound wasn’t great. The speaking dialogs were very difficult to understand (I thought I needed hearing
Would love to have the ability to have grouped speakers at equal volume in a quick way, with aclick instead of having to scrub the two to match.
I'm a new audio enthusiast and after months of research and looking for an amp to power my Totem Acoustic 2.1 system, I pulled the trigger on the Sonos amp. In all honesty I tried to avoid buying the Sonos amp as I am wary of getting locked into an ecosystem, but in the end it simply offered the best combination of features and price. I wanted to share this feedback with Sonos and the community. Here's what I discovered while looking for an amp/receiver. Generally these products are divided into two categories: the first is hi-fi amps for stereo enthusiasts to power 2.1 systems. Usually these have limited digital inputs and since the focus is on classic audio inputs very few have HDMI (although this is changing). It's also difficult to find home theatre settings such as sub cross over. Then you have AV receivers that give you everything but are MASSIVE. I thought these might have slimmed down since the 90s when my dad's pioneer gobbled up an entire stereo shelf, but no, and whil
I was previously having issues with the following combination:Sony X950G + Native streaming apps + HDMI/eARC + Sonos ArcIssues included random audio dropouts (main problem) and lack of Atmos from Amazon Video and Disney+ (secondary problem). I did get Atmos from Netflix with this setup. I switched to the following combination as a trial:Sony X950G + Native streaming apps + optical adapter + Sonos ArcThe audio dropouts went away but the volume +/- response was unacceptably laggy, unresponsive, and unpredictable. Felt like trading one problem for another. And then of course no Atmos whatsoever. Decided on a whim to try the Roku Ultra (2019) since I hadn’t read much about it in combination with the Sonos Arc. Seems most are using Apple TV 4K with mixed results. So:Sony X950G + Roku Ultra + HDMI/eARC + Sonos ArcSo far no audio dropouts after a week of testing. Excellent Roku remote control responsiveness. And I am reliably getting Atmos on Disney+ (but not on Netflix or Amazon Video). I do
I’ve posted about this problem before: I just wanted to update this topic for anyone who experienced the same issues or are interested in buying movies through Playstation store.Unfortunately surround still doesn't work when watching movies bought on the Playstation store on the Playstation 4, but for some reason it works perfectly on the Playstation 5. Same movies, same audio settings.
I recently purchased an M1 MacBook Pro with OS Big Sur. When I migrated my files from my prior 2011 MacBook Pro and updated/reinstalled the Sonos1 app, everything worked well except that my Playlists were not imported. I spent a long time on chat with Sonos, who directed me to various bits of information on the topic. Basically, it seemed that when Apple switched from iTunes to Apple Music with OS Catalina, the relationship between the music files and the xml files that support Playlists was disconnected. So they wanted me to find the correct xml files (iTunesMusicLibrary.xml) and add them as a folder in the Music Library. But they didn’t know where they were. I looked in the new Music files. There is a file called iTunesMusicLibrary.xml, but when I added it, nothing happened. Sonos suggested I call Apple to find out where the files were.So I called Apple. Their support department was worthless. First I did a chat, going through all the issues. That took a long time. I basically asked
Hi Sonos community, i am wondering what would be best for a 35sqm leaving room between the two options :Sonos beam + 2 five + 1 sub Sonos arc + 2 one + 1 sub my preliminary use will be TV (Samsung the frame with HDMI arc - no earc) but also listening musique with friendsvery happy to have your view on thatBest,
Is the inability to cast YouTube music directly to sonos speakers a Sonos issue or a YouTube music issue?
I have an Arc, sub and 2xOne SL connected to a ATV4K. With movies or TV from Plex, Netflix etc I get 5.1 as expected, due to older TV without eARC I am using Arcana and I get ATMOS. However when listening to music from Plex app or Spotify on ATV I only get Stereo PCM via Arc and Sub, the Ones are silent. If I use Spotify via Sonos app directly o get full sound through all devices. Is this expected behavior for the ATV? If not has anyone any suggestions on what I should change to get music playing properly via all speakers from the apps on the ATV?
Can anyone else confirm if the SONOS provided HDMI cable, lacks support with eARC pass through volume control? I found when I hooked up the Arc with the Sonos provided HDMI cable to the eARC connection on the LG CX - I was unable to control the volume on the TV using the LG smart remote, even with HDMI passthrough and eARC enabled. However, when I replaced the Sonos provided HDMI with a high quality one from Amazon, immediately the TV recognized the Arc and I could control volume with the LG remote. All settings on the CX remained unchanged.
This is a long read - if you’re impatient or don’t have time to read this, just read the title again, and there’s your Cliff’s Notes. I’ve owned the complete Sonos Playbar 5.1 HT for at least 5 years now. I found limitations quickly: no DTS, no HDMI, no expansion beyond 5.1, less-than-great stereo music performance (to my ears).I also was not a fan of one particular Sonos app update that forced everyone to enter an email address to continue using the system.I figured out a way around the account problem without giving up any personal info, I dealt with the DTS problem by ignoring it, I lived with the optical limitation, and I stopped worrying about using the HT for music - I decided to put together a really great analog system for my very large music collection. Many, many people joined my concerns about the Playbar HT. To all of us, Sonos appeared to be limiting itself to apartment-dwellers who stream everything, and us home theater enthusiasts who wanted to hear the sound coming off
I regularly leave my Move on its base and cant get the contacts to light the charging light meaning I regularly cant use it and would happily chuck it away if it hadnt cost my wife so much money
