Different channels have VERY different volume levels when using the Beam with my Samsung QA65Q60TA TV.  Some channels are super quiet and others blow you across the room.  Its worth noting that I am watching TV through Foxtel IQ4 box.  Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi @EmmaL

Different volume levels for different channels is normal. The same was true before you started using the Beam. You probably didn’t notice it until you got a speaker like the Beam that improves your listening experience. That’s why there’s a up/down volume button(s). LOL

Hi @AjTrek1 I doubt that they are this different. It goes from normal volume to not being able to hear anything. Then you turn the volume up so you can hear that channel and when you switch over again it’s so loud I’m pretty sure the whole street can hear it and you have to scramble for the tv remote to turn the Sonia volume down as the Foxtel remote doesn’t control the beam volume. I’m pretty sure I’ve done something wrong on setup! I’m useless at this kind of thing!

Does your Foxtel box or TV have a volume leveling setting?

So this set me on a little mission going through all of the foxtel settings.  I have managed to even out the sound for the channels (thank you!!) however I cannot control the volume using the foxtel remote.  This is a small price to pay for not blasting myself when changing channels!  Thanks!

Hi EmmaaL

Do you remember what settings you made / changed to even out the volume difference between channels?

I have an IQ4 with same issues.

@David_T Look for a setting on the iQ4 that says “volume leveling” or “dynamic range”. If these aren’t available, try to find these settings on your TV.
