Hi guys

Probably it is not a very smart question, but I want to get it right before buying something. Currently I have a LG Oled 65 inches with 4 HDMI ports ( 1 of them is eARC ). I have my Sonos 5.2.2 with the arc, two subs gen 3, and two sl. So far, all good.

I have 2 consoles, one bluray 4k all connected to the tv. Then I can’t connect anything else to the TV. I don’t know which should be the best setup to connect more hdmi devices ( like my apple tv 4k, fire tv 4k, etc… ). What is the best option ?

How can I expand this setup that I can hook up more HDMI devices ? Should I buy an AV receiver ? I heard they don’t work with Sonos Arc.

Any suggestions will be more than welcome!

Thank you

It sounds like you may need an HDMI ‘switch’ to connect to one of your HDMI ports on the TV - there are lots to choose from at places like Amazon etc. They come in all different shapes and sizes with various amounts of input ports, depending on your requirements…

Here is just one example amongst the dozens that are available from that site alone:

Thank you for the answer.

With this device, I will get the sound from the ARC in dolby atmos if the device is connected to the switch ?

Yes I’m fairly sure that Atmos is supported on HDMI 2.0 or higher, but maybe just check with the manufacturer/supplier of the switch you select ...and also ensure your TV passes through the codec.

The TV can be checked by perhaps plugging in your Fire TV 4K stick and playing an episode from Jack Ryan on Amazon Prime (just as an example). I’m aware that uses the Atmos codec. Then look at the ‘Audio In’ for the Sonos Arc device in "Settings/System/About My System” in the Sonos App.

I use the switch at this link.  It preserves Dolby Atmos.  The auto-switching doesn’t seem to work totally reliably but the remote works fine.  Overall I am happy.  I have seen what appears to be exactly the same device under various brand names.

The auto-switching has a life of its own, but it can be disabled.
