On Sonos One - using Sonos Voice Control - “Hey Sonos - Play more songs by this artist” voice command when a certain artist is playing on ‘Apple Music One Live Radio’ is so inspiring that it makes me Eager to listen more and try it on more music artists. Particularly useful if the name of the artist is unfamiliar to pronounce like some of the classical music artists - or you just simply forget what to ask for - making this more convenient - to quickly get to the music. The result is it plays a radio station type playlist which I feel is sequenced in the style of what you have just heard and the chosen tracks portray the style of music that particular artist conveys - a bit like Creating a Station - Based on a particular song.” Alternatively, To get achieve a similar concept you could say “Hey Sonos - Play a station by this Artist” or “Hey Sonos - Play a Playlist by this Artist.”
If a Sonos One Gen 1 is stereo paired with a Sonos One Gen 2 - does the speed of the Gen 1 hinder the speed of the voice assistant booting up as Alexa currently boots up quicker on my Gen 1 - almost automatically - than Sonos Voice Control? Is Sonos Voice generally more responsive on Sonos One Gen 2?
If I am currently enjoying listening to a piece of music or podcast or radio station - I would like a way to use Sonos Voice Control to ask what is currently playing on ‘Apple Music One’ or ‘Apple Music Hits’ or ‘Apple Music Country’ while listening to my initial audio selection - to see if the alternative radio show is something I might like to listen to instead - before I decide whether or not to leave what I am currently listening to.This will help me to better be able to contemplate the listening options - to decide what would be best depending on my mood at the time etc - based on the information options Sonos Voice Control gives me - based on the current radio show schedule.
Without fail every time I ask Sonos voice control (MOVE speakers in stereo) what is playing when listening to Impulse Records Radio, immediately after telling me, it switches the radio station. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I am loving using the new Sonos Voice Control version 1.1 features particularly when a song is playing on a live radio Stream such as Apple Music 1 and you can say something like : “Hey Sonos, play a station by this artist” or “Hey Sonos, play a playlist by this artist.” You can also say, “Hey Sonos, play more songs by this band/artist.” I notice that using Sonos Voice Control if a song is playing you can say “play more like this” and it will play one or two further similar songs - perhaps a feature which will be further developed later on - as I would like the stream to play more than one or two similar songs. I also see the ability in the Sonos App to start a station manually based on/from an individually selected a song. I would love this feature to be available using voice commands - just like the functionality of the HomePod mini - as I am contemplating whether to buy one of these to get this feature or upgrade my audio to stereo audio with an Era 100 - which I tried in a local te
I have been highly disappointed by not being able to connect Amazon Alexa with my Sonos era 100.Please release the services in UAE.Manupriam
How do I get voice assistant to work on Sonos roam? The product is not showing in the app to connect
I want the Sonos Voice Assistant to play music from my own LIBRARY. I am fed up with voice services like Sonos VA only playing music from streaming services. Is there a way or a hack I can do to make this work? Thank you
I wanted to use the so os assistant, but when I ask it to play music it tells me I need to subscribe to a service. I have a YouTube music subscription and a spotify account added. But when I try to set either as the default service for the assistant, the app shows not compatible. How can that be? Anyone knows why this could be? Help appreciated :)
svc cannot recognise any playlists in the my sonos part of the app i am running android.
Hi! Sonos Era 100 does not have Google Assistant, instead Sonos Voice Control. Does SVC have “voice match” similar to GA, so it knows if it’s me or my girlfriend who speaks to it? I want it to use the correct Spotify account, eg if my girlfriend is at home asking it to play music, it should use her Spotify account. I still want to be able to listen to music on my Spotify account at work. I think this is possible with the GA in eg Sonos One gen 2. Thanks!
Can Sonos Voice not play TuneIn stations? I’ve tried several times and the response has been something to the effect of “Sonos Voice cannot play TuneIn”. Not sure if that’s literally true or if I just haven’t found the preferred command.
Title says it all, really. I can’t get SVC to play LBC radio. If I choose it through the app, it’s fine. But with SVC I get weird and wonderful results. I’ve scoured the forums and tried everything I’ve found as suggestion, all to no avail.Has anyone been successful in this, and if so, could you please tell me the magic words?
Sonos Voice Control is excellent. It just works and does exactly what I need for my Apple Music account. I also listen to Qobuz, Spotify and BBC Sounds regularly - any idea if or when they might be added to Sonos Voice Control?
Hi there,Both myself and my wife’s Apple Music is setup in the Sonos App under the same Sonos ID (Mine)If I use ‘Hey Sonos’ and issue a command, I have no issues. If my wife issues the same command she is totally ignored? Is this usual behaviour, or are we doing something wrong with our setup please?Should each user in the house login to the Sonos App with their own login credentials or share mine? Or is this irrelevant 😀 We are using the Full Home Cinema set-up with Arc, Sub, and two One SL’s. Any help would be greatly appreciated.thanksGary
I have GROUP called Main that includes my:1.TV ARC/L&R Play Ones/Sub in Family Room 2. Play One in KitchenWhen watching TV in Family Room with full TV audio playing I often say “Hey Sonos play on MAIN” while in earshot of the Kitchen Sonos 1. I’m finding that I must say “Hey Sonos switch to TV Mode” for the entire MAIN group to stop playing music and start playing the TV audio; for some reason it defaults to music on the “Play on Main” command. I finally discovered the “Switch to TV Mode” command here on the forum and thanks for that BUT: Is there a way to make my DEFAULT audio to always be TV (vs Music) when I say “Hey Sonos play on Main” when the TV is already playing and I want to include the entire “MAIN” group with that same TV audio? BTW turning the TV off/on again will default to TV audio on MAIN group and incidentally “hey sonos stop” in the kitchen first causes the TV to go on mute with unmuting NOT flowing to TV audio in the group/kitchen; both less than desired intents.
Hi thereFirst time using the community forum :)Been using Alexa to voice search music tracks to play on Sonos since time began. My default streaming service is Spotify (but I have others). I noticed today that all my tracks from this morning (listening on the Sonos Roam in the kitchen) were not appearing on my Last.FM profile (basically not ‘scrobbled’). I have conducted some very basic tests and made following observations:Selecting a Spotify track via the Sonos desktop app (e.g. using the mouse and double clicking) results in the track playing on Sonos AND being scrobbled to Last.FM. Ask Alexa to play the ‘same’ Spotify track on Sonos (via voice search on an Echo Dot) to the same Sonos speaker results in the track playing BUT not being scrobbled to Last.FM. Issue doesn’t seem to occur with Amazon Music voice search (i have not tested other music streaming services). Tracks that auto play AFTER the voice search track also fail to scrobble to Last.FM. I also tried on Sonos One built in
When I first set up my system I set it up with Alexa. Can I also add Sonos voice control? Therefore having both Alexa and Sonos. Is it even necessary? Are there any benefits of having both? Thx 😊
How can I get the hey Sonos command to play one of my Sonos playlists. Whenever I tell Sonos to play the playlist it automatically goes and play some radio station or other. Not very helpful so far.
How can I play my favorites ( My Sonos) via Sonos voicecontrol.
I’ve scoured the community for an answer to this, and all I see is the recommendation to check my smart tv and disable passwords (none are enabled) or to factory reset, which I prefer not to do. Is there someplace in the Sonos app or on iPhone settings I can control this? I don’t even see Airplay on my settings list on my iPhone 12. Thanks!
A Roam as my first piece of Sonos Voice Controlled hardware. I find that SVC works fine for controlling Sonos Radio, but not for accessing content from my Pandora account, which I have set as my default service. All I get is “we’re having trouble connecting to your music provider, please try again later.” I have removed and reinstalled SVC and also reauthorized access to my Pandora account from Sonos, but to no avail. Suggestions?
I use the Sonos Voice Control feature and really enjoy it. I have a Move with a microphone, but my Roam and two Connects don’t have mics. I’d like to be able to use the Voice Control feature via the Sonos controller app on my phone to control all my Sonos products (the Move is in another part of the house that doesn’t always pickup voice commands).
At 1am, sonos started playing music out of the blue. I generated a diagnostics code shortly after it happened, which is 1080735780. Can you explain what happened? Thanks, Paul
Does Sonos Voice Control work on Play:1 speakers?
