Turned on Sonos Voice Control and it works great. Problem is that the volume of the Voice Control reponse is much to loud. No matter what the level of music playing is the Sonos Voice Control reply seems to remain constant … but the volume is problematic as it is so loud. Hoping there is a way to control and change the volume of the Sonos Voice Control response voice. Does anyone know how to do this and are you experiencing the same problem where the voice response is much much too loud ? The command “Hey Sonos Voice Control Softer” does lower the level of the voice control response. If I set the music level louder though the voice control level seems to then match the music level volume. Problem is that playing music at 70 or 80% sounds fine and not too loud but then the Voice Control level response changes and sounds much louder that the level of the music that was playing. Want to be able to play music at a pleasant level and have the Sonos Voice assistant response level stay t
I've been chatting and speaking with Sonos technical support for the past four hours and am about to have my issue escalated for the sixth time. The one thing that not one of the technicians has tried is to recreate the issue on their own Sonos speaker.Voice Control will NOT connect to KUSC - Classical California: The station is in my “Favorites” and the app will connect to it - but Voice Control either fails to respond or connects to a channel named “Blue Mood” - which plays orchestral light jazz with commercials. Could someone, please, try to get Sonos to play KUSC using Voice Control and let me know the result? Thanks!
Hi,since the last update Sonos Voice Assistant’s volume is fixed to a constant unintelligible low, one is unable to hear it nor is it possible to set it via the master volume. Would it be possible to give the users a separate Assistant volume control? Thank you.
Moderator Edit: This post was written/formatted by AITL;DR: Expose a local, opt-in microphone audio stream API so users can run voice assistants in any spoken language -- not just the handful Sonos and its partners support today.Submitted by: A Sonos ownerAffected products: Arc Ultra, Era 100/300, Beam (Gen 2), and all current mic-equipped playersCategory: Voice / PlatformSummarySonos players ship with excellent far-field microphone arrays, but voice control only works in a small set of supported languages, through first-party and partner assistants. Hundreds of millions of people who own (or would buy) Sonos cannot talk to it in their own language. We are asking Sonos to add a public, opt-in, locally-authenticated API that streams post-wake-word microphone audio to software on the user's own network. With access to that audio, the community and third parties can pair the mic with modern, open speech-to-text engines that already understand a hundred-plus languages and dialects -- and pl
Hello everyone, My family currently using alexa to voice control our music that is hosted through plex on our local plex ubuntu server, though unfortunately we are loosing that feature in a couple days and I have been experimenting with sonos and SVC to try and find a alternate. I have done a bit of creeping and have seen many post referencing that you can convert your plex music or use your local library to make sonos playlist that then can be used to play music through SVC. I have had limited luck getting things working by following these forum posts and was wondering if something has changed? My system is set up with a shared drive over my network with Samba. I did have to open up my connection to SMB2 - 3 which was originally shared with just SMB3 for my plex server to get Sonos to link with my music library in the sonos app. Though I got it all up and running and everything works perfectly in the android app except voice control. My problem is when I try and make sonos playlist

How do we shuffle our Apple Music library songs on our ERA 100s or ERA 300s?
I have tried numerous methods to play ABC radio using SVC on my new play speaker. I seem to have failed at every turn. Sonos Radio will not play them, RadioApp will play them but not through SVC only using the app, same for TuneIn. I would prefer not to use Alexa or google, but it may be the only way. Has anyone overcome this issue?
After months of researching a smart speaker system that sounds good, pulled the trigger on Sonos Era 100, only to find myself facing the issues that have been plaguing this community for several years now - Voice assistant is WAY TOO LOUD responding during music. This is what happens when I use the voice assistant -Me: Hey Sonos, what is the weather?Sonos: **Responds in the right volume I expect**Me: Play a songSonos: **Acknowledges with the right volume. Starts playing a song at the right volume**Me: Play a different song songSonos: **Acknowledges with VERY LOUD assistant volume**Tried various different options including reducing the volume when assistant is speaking (which obviously doesn’t work btw) before reaching out to customer care.Issue with customer care or the product team is that they know that this issue exists and do nothing to fix it (like forums from 3 years ago and no fixes, seriously?). Customer care even fought back with me saying that this is not even considered an is
I cannot get voice control to play any of my Sonos playlists. It just starts playing something random from other services. This Sonos article states that playing Sonos playlists is supported in voice control. But not working for me. Any suggestions?
I don’t like the default voice for Sonos voice control - Is there any way to change it? Having only one option (and it being only a male option) is not a great experience.
I have recently switched from Amazon Music to Tidal. I have linked the Tidal service in the Sonos app and can control using the Sonos app, I just can’t get Sonos to play Tidal music using voice commands (Sonos), I get the following back:“Sorry, Sonos voice control isn’t available for Tidal yet”.Can anyone help, or is just a limitation I have to live with?ThanksLee
New Era100 owner. I want to use voice control for BBC Radio stations (BBC Sounds).I do not want to use Alexa.Have I bought the wrong product?
I have a Sonos One and a Roam speaker. Both have voice, and I use Sonos Voice control. My main source is BBC iPlayer (also use Deezer) but will not use Big Tech products - one reason I bought the Sonos was that the Voice facility is local not cloud/BigTech based. The speaker won’t recognise a request to turn on BBC iPlayer, so I have to do that through the app (half a billion users of BBC haven’t got through to Sonos..!) but previously, if I ask it to turn on, it would have turned on whatever was previously playing. Now, it just says “this speaker is not a home movie product”…Obviously, something has changed from the Sonos end...does anybody know what?
Når jeg giver en kommando til Sonos Voice Control bliver svaret fra SVC sagt med alt for høj lydstyrke. Hvordan kan jeg regulere lydstyrken?
The proposal is to allow Sonos Voice Control (SVC) to forward voice commands to an external system via a configurable webhook. When a user issues a voice command containing a specific keyword or prefix (for example, “Home”, “Assistant”, or a custom wake phrase), Sonos would send the recognized text (or resolved intent) to a predefined HTTPS URL.This URL would typically point to Home Assistant, where the command can be processed further. At that level (Home Assistant), users and developers could: Parse the incoming text or intent. Route it to a custom AI/LLM or rules engine. Trigger smart-home automations, scenes, or complex logic. Build a local or hybrid AI assistant tailored to their own smart-home environment. Key characteristics of the idea: No access to Sonos’ internal voice engine is required. Sonos retains full control over wake word detection, speech-to-text, and privacy. Only explicitly opted-in commands (based on keyword or prefix) are forwarded. Communication is one
Why is voice control unable to play podcasts from integrated services? Just curious.
Since Sonos Voice Control was released, it has responded to 100% of my first command after saying “Hey Sonos”. (Unless of course I asked it something it couldn't do, that's on me, not it) However, while it’s sitting there in “Follow up/Continued Conversation” mode? It never EVER registers my second command. For example. Having music playing then saying “Hey Sonos, Switch to TV Input” CHIME and it does it. Then while the light is still on, I say something like “Volume Thirty Percent” or “Set Volume To Thirty Percent” and after I’m done the light goes out and nothing happens. EVER.But if I say “Hey Sonos” for both commands? It has the audacity to tell me that I don’t need to say Hey Sonos each time……. 😒This has been like this since it launched. Over 3 years now. I believe sonos voice assistant hasn't been updated since 1.1 (Will be three whole years in Feb) Anyone Else?
I see there are multiple threads on this but from 8 months ago.i recently bought my mother a Move 2 and set her up with Sonos voice so she doesn’t have to reach for her phone or iPod to start music. She doesn’t want Alexa or anything cloud based so the Sonos voice processing on the device etc made it an easier sell.. great I thought. She is in her 70’s and so wants to listen to bbc radio 4 most of the time but the ruddy thing started playing some random artist when I asked for radio 4, when I asked for bbc radio 4 it told me it couldn’t.I have read the replies on here and now understand it doesn’t work. 1 such comment was interpreted as a feature request, another was stating it was a bbc sounds incompatibility… given I have added bbc sounds to the Sonos app, so sonos know she has a valid account and the app can merrily play the bbc radio selections with no issue… I don’t understand why this isn’t a thing. Even if I had to add an extra prompt like “play bbc radio 4 from bbc sounds” or sim
How do I turn off Sonos Voice Assistant on a Ray?
I have a Sonos One in my kitchen area that will start a timer if I say “Hey, Siri, set a timer for 10 (or whatever) minutes.” Occasionally, I’ll ask Siri a different question and the One will reply that it doesn’t understand the question or that it can’t do that.I’ve occasionally tried this with the two other Sonos One speakers I have, and they didn’t respond (to be fair, the kitchen One doesn’t always), so maybe my kitchen One is an outlier.Everything is up to date, fwiw, and this has been going on for quite awhile—I’m just getting around to wondering aloud what’s happening. I’ve taken to practically whispering to my watch or iphone but I’m wondering if anyone else has run across this issue?
Following up on this thread - @Corry P - Any update here?My kids don’t have phones / the sonos app, but they want to listen to their own music in their own rooms. Considering getting them each an era 100 for their rooms so they listen using voice control.I like that SVC processes voices locallyI dont want to set up Alexa or google voice.reviewing that thread above I see there’s limitations using SVC streaming different songs to different speakers using spotify, wondering if that’s been solved? Might it behave differently with Apple music?Has this limitation of SVC been addressed?
