When I ask Alexa to play music it does it through the echo dot perfectly, however when I ask the same question but to play in my living room (name of my Sonos speaker) it says I have no music in my library? The problem is yes I have no music in my library, but I want it to steam music via Prime Music! So frustrating... The only way I can get the echo dot to stream music via Prime music is to say "play blah blah from Prime Music in my living room" which is long and tedious. And yes I have set my default music service to Prime Music! Where I am going wrong? Any help is much appreciated!

My nonprofit agency just lost over $4000.00 worth of Sonos equipment in emergency flash flooding about 3 weeks ago. Quite frankly, this has forced into a state of devatation, in more ways than one, and because my clients are almost all hearing impaired, this "Sonos loss" creates an emergency communication problem. So hopefully a member of management or a Sonos expert will read this and guide me promptly in the right direction, as i would be most appreciative. I am willing to email me legal IRS papers to a regular email to prove my legitimacy and discuss this much more in detail. Thank you. Hi I just purchased an Echo Dot. I have named the sonos devices in my house as per the guidelines and can control them in all rooms except the playbar in the kitchen. When I say "Alexa" the music goes quiet in the kitchen (and presumably all rooms at present) so it is communicating correctly with the playbar, I can even ask it to stop the music. But if I say "play Radio 2 in the kitchen" alexa says "playing BBC Radio 2 from TuneIn On Kitchen" but nothing happens. Same with playing any music from the Amazon Prime service. It did actually work the first day I had the device, not sure what happened as everything is as it was before.

Please can someone help with this problem. My Sonos setup includes playbar, sub and play1 x w. I have a Samsung UE65K8000 TV and Samsung UBD-K850, along with a SkyQ box. Everything is connected directly into the Samsung Connect box - TV into HDMI 1, Bluray into HDMI 2 and Playbar into the optical out. When I play my TV I can check on the app and it is outputting 5.1. However, when playing a DVD I can only get Stereo 2. I have tried numerous permutations of settings, and also tried introducing an optical switch, but wondered if there was a something I was missing somewhere. Thanks in anticipation. Alison

Hi there. I'm new to the Sonos game. So far I love it but still have a couple of questions. I have my account set up and my controller on my iPhone which controls a Sonos One in the Bedroom and a Sonos 3 in the Living Room. Now, if my wife wants her own controller on her phone (or tablet, or where ever), would she need to create her own Songs account and log in with her log in info so she can create her own "My Sonos" area on her controller? I put the app on her phone and it asked if I want to join the existing network or create a new one. I tried 'join the existing' and the app populated with all my settings like my favorite stations and in the "My Sonos" area. Should I have set up a new account for her? How does that work? I recently set up a Sonos bridge and have a single player (Play 3) set up properly. I have used the Play 3 without the bridge and Alexa worked fine. Not certain if this is an issue with the bridge or "Alexa". I can give Alexa a command and she says she is playing it but the Play 3 does not play. Anyone using a bridge with the echo dot? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.....Steve

when trying to play music from Napster on my Sonos system I get a message saying Login information not valid ? I recently changed the password on my account and also changed the bank account we pay from but it did still work.

I'm really curious about the new Sonos ONE as an addition to my current setup (Two Sonos Play1s), but I'd really like to see one in person. WIll the Sonos ONE be sold in Apple Stores like the Play 1 and Play 5? Will we see a price drop in the Play 1?

Hi I have a black and a white sonos and have now purchased 2 echo dot - but I am wondering how do I get the music from the echo to play through the speakers of my sonos - do I need another lead or is it done via the Alexa app? thanks

Hi - I currently have two Sonos Play:1 speakers and recently purchased a record player that I would like to be able to play using the Play:1's. To connect using the in-line from the record player I understand I need a Play:5, Connect or Connect:Amp. That being said, if I purchase a Play:5 and connect to the record player, would the Play:5 them be able to connect to the Play:1 speakers? Or would I need the Connect or Connect:Amp. We have three SONOS speakers at the office and often times when we need to stream a track for whatever reason, someone else might be streaming to it. How do we determine who is streaming to the SONOS, so that we can either kick them off or ask them to release the stream.

I bought two sonos ones to act as surrounds with my playbar in my living room. Besides a few small problems everything seemed to be working fine. Now the sonos ones will NOT execute music commands. When I ask Alexa to play a song, it acts like it is going to work and says that it is now playing in the living room but nothing happens. I have tried everything that I know to try and fix the issue. I have removed everything and readded everything again. I even changed the groups name thinking there may be a naming conflict. It is now named TV Room, but that didn't work either. Everything else works as far as Alexa goes, just NO MUSIC. This is really frustrating. Does anybody have any suggestions for me?

I’m in the process of setting up 2 separate outdoor areas with wired speakers that I want to set up as 2 Sonos zones. I understand that when setting up wired speakers, you wire each pair of speakers to its own connect amp to form the 2 zones. My question is, do both connect Amps need to be connected to my router, or does just one of the connect Amps need to be connected to the router? The rest of my house is a 5.1 in the living room and play 3’s in the bedroom ‘s and garage; once one of the connect Amps are connected to my router, can the rest of the house run wirelessly or would you recommend other devices be plugged into the router.

I did setup the Sonos One speakers initially as individuals speakers so that I could play with the Alexa features. Today I went to turn the Ones into surround speakers for my Playbase. It keeps asking me to press and release the button on the back of the left speaker, at which point it fails. “! Surround Setup error”. Any advice?

Hello forum vets, Yesterday I received, set up, and connected my Play:1 and 5 to my Amazon Echo and Sonos Alexa Skill. It works fine to control music commands to the Sonos (Alexa, skip X, play in Y room, etc.). However, I've been searching this and Amazon's forums for an answer/guidance to the following: Can I have music play from BOTH my Sonos speakers AND the Echo? I have a full-size echo which has a decent speaker in it, as well. I'd like to include it in my surround sound/whole home speaker experience. I understand it's not a speaker I could control through the Sonos app, but is there a way to "tether" it to one of the Sonos speakers/include it in a music playing device cluster via the Alexa app? I can't for the life of me figure out how to play different streams in different room on the latest update to the Android app. I can remove a stream from the list or add it but I can't choose to have a different stream playing like before. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Background: My Sonos network consists of of 6 rooms and 13 players. My Playbar is connected to my home wired network with an Ethernet cable. The remaining players are all connected via the Sonos mesh network. All 13 players are on network 192.168.128.0. My Sonos system works great. My computers are also on the 192.168.128.0 network and the conputer-based Sonos controller finds my Sonos network without issue. Recently I set up a new Lynksys Velop wireless mesh network. The Velop primary node is also connected to the 192.168.128.0 network with an Ethernet cable. The Velop wireless network is network 192.168.1.0. My portable devices all connect to the new Velop wireless network also without issue. The problem is that when I try to run the Sonos controller from my Android phone, it does not find my Sonos network. Well I'm pretty sure it's because the Sonos network is on 192.168.128.0 and my Android controller is on 192.168.1.0 and I understand that the Controller must be on

I am running OS X Yosemite 10.10.4 on my Mac.  In Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall > Firewall Options, I have the following entry that allows incoming connections for Sonos:   However, every time that I start the Sonos Controller app, I get this message asking if I want Sonos to accept incoming connections.  How can I prevent this message from appearing every time?  Thanks  

Hi all, I purchased a house with a great multi-room Sonos system, but I found the system is registered to the previous owner. Is there a way I can change this or do I need to chase the previous owner and have him 'un-register'?
