Hi,
I have a Sonos Playbar and am looking to get an HDMI switch with optical out. There are quite a few questions about this on the forum already, which recommend a few reasonably priced ones.
However, the one requirement I can't seem to meet is auto switch/auto sense i.e. the switch should automatically select the last input activated. Checking the ones on Amazon and most seem to come with a remote or manual buttons for switching.
Can anyone recommend an HDMI switch that can be bought in the UK that has at least the following:
- 4 HDMI in, 1 out
- Optical out
- Auto switch/auto-sense (no remote required)
- ARC

I purchased the Flexson HDMI switch. I’m ordering Apple TV with the 4K HDR. I don’t think this switch passes HDR to your tv. Can anyone confirm this?
Have you tried asking Flexson? Last time I asked them a question via email, I got an answer within 48 hours.

I just got a reply back from Flexson about whether the switch supports HDR for the new Apple TV. They said ‘The 3 way switch is HDMI 1.4 as is the Apple TV so this should be fine.’
The new Apple TV presumably uses HDMI 2.0 for the HDR part so looks like the Flexson won’t support it. It’s frustrating as I have a TV that does not support pass through over HDMI so I’m not going to be able to watch 4K HDR and get 5.1 through the Sonos unless I buy a new TV or spend a fortune on a new HDMI switch. I never thought it would be this complicated.
