Are there any known issues with Move and WiFi mesh networks, in my case Plume Networks? I have been having issues connecting my Apple devices using AirPlay 2 to my Sonos Move, but only when I move it. I can connect without any issues when the Move is at it’s base. Ie it is connected to its typical WiFi pod, and that WiFi pod happens to be Ethernet connected to my router. However, when I move the Move into another room I can always see the Move listed on my Apple devices as a speaker that I can AirPlay to, but it typically, but not always, fails to connect. Also, sometimes, when it is playing music away from its base, after using it for a while it disconnects and I’m unable to connect it again. As a note I have tried multiple devices, iPhones (XS and 11) an an iPad, all on the latest O/S. Also, I am NOT using SonosNet, ie everything is connected to the same WiFi network, none of the Sonos devices are connected to Ethernet. I have confirmed that I always have solid WiFi signal stre
I recently added a Boost to my system, as the core wifi network uses a set of extenders and I kept getting the ‘wifi extender’ error message. However, because the system includes a Move - which apparently cannot connect to the Boost - the message won't go away (unless I power off the Move and exclude it from the system). Any suggestions? It’s super annoying that the system won’t function together properly.
Hi, I’m hoping someone can help me with my issue.I have a Play 5, 2 One SLs, a Play 1, and a Move which were all working well with my Netgear Orbi Mesh network. Unfortunately, the Orbi died and I replaced it with an Asus Zen Wifi CT8 mesh router. I have the Play 5 directly wired to the router. Of course, the Move is connected via Wifi. All of the speakers appear in the app and function, but whenever I try to group the Move with another speaker, I get a pop-up saying:“Wireless range extender. Some Sonos products are using the WiFi from a range extender device. If you include one of these in a room group, you won’t be able to play music in that group. To ensure playback in all grouped rooms, you’ll need to permanently wire a Sonos product to the router.”Of course, I already have Sonos permanently connected to the router, and all of the speakers show WM:0 (except Move), indicating they’re using the SonosNet dedicated mesh system. I don’t have a range extender. The Move will function fine i
I recently bought a Sonos Move and am new to Sonos products. When placing the Move onto the charging base an amber light flashes for about 10 seconds and then nothing. I have left it to charge overnight and the next day, nothing! It wont turn on and isnt retaining a charge. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks
Just like the title says, diagnostic number is 113072795just wondering if it’s bandwidth or what not. Audio delay is max on the port and I’m keeping the signal uncompressed (otherwise what’s the point of playing vinyl).the two fives, two ones, and port are working how they should and usually the basement playbar with ikea lamps work fine. Just wondering why the moves can’t be linked to sonosnet? And maybe switch to the house network when outta range of sonosnet? Dunno the fine details about how the move functions just that these two speakers are the only real loose ends on my perfect full cabin sound (in my ears that is). thanks all! G
Hi,I have a Deco M5 operating in "Router" (with no other wifi access point or router as it is directly connected to the fibre ONT). I have one sonos hardwired to a deco point and all but one of my sonos devices is on WM:0 Sonosnet. The one device that is not, is the Sonos Move ( which cannot connect to Sonosnet ) seems to be having connectivity issues with wifi as it sometimes disappears from the sonos app? Any idea what this could be and how can I troubleshoot? Mark
I started my Sonos system with a Move, which was remarkably easy to setup and has worked flawlessly. Next I purchased the subwoofer and added a pair of One SLs (with which I created a stereo pair). Again, all setup could not have been easier and all components--including the app--interacted without even a minor glitch. All of these products, incidentally, we're acquired in the last couple of months. Two days ago I picked up my Arc from Best Buy and the only thing that works consistently now is the Move. The Arc works fine by itself, but the One SLs and the subwoofer will not connect at the same time. We have tried the app on 4 devices (2 IOS and 2 Android)--two of them don't even show the Arc. We have followed troubleshooting to the letter, unplugging/plugging countless times, doing factory resets on all components repeatedly, resetting the wifi router, etc. At no time in the countless iterations of this process would all components appear in the app at the same time; further
I have an older Bridge and if I remember correctly I was informed that it was no longer needed for S1 and player 3. I have switched over to S2 for my player 3 and added a Move as well. Is there anyway to use my older bridge on s2 for these two products and is it worth the effort? If not is there a way to sell it that it others can use it? TY Bob
Hi,I have a Beam connected to ethernet. When the Beam and my Sonos One are the only devices turned on, the Sonos One automatically joins Sonosnet via wireless, all good. But as soon as my Move is turned on, the Sonos One switches to Wifi (WM:1). The Beam is on my Living Room while the Sonos One and Move are near each other in my Bedroom. Is it possible for Sonos One to join the Sonosnet when it's near a Move? I know the Move doesn't support Sonosnet, but I don't understand why the One also needs to be in Wifi.
Hi To start, I have 7 sonos products and have been with sonos for about 4 years…..I love it!!Back ground…I live in a house with poor wifi coverage. I get good coverage in one corner of the house from the router and use a couple of wifi extenders to get wifi coverage for the rest of the house. All works well for zoom calls, netfix, etc etc on all phones, pcs, ipads and fire stick. Downside with sonos, is it doesn't like my extenders as i think it cases lag, so i bought a Sonos boost 1 year ago…..Now all sonos works perfectly and i love it! Toaday…I received my Move over the weekend, set it up next to my router and all is well. Move it to my kitchen and it now says that its connected to a wifi extender and cannot play (not the exact words but you get the idea). i take it back to the router (which is 1 meter from the Sonos Boost) and it still says im on the extender. after resetting it a few times I called sonos tech support that had me reset every thing again, switch off extenders etc e
I’ve had universally good experiences of SONOS...up until now. I’ve just bought a Move and I cannot get it to connect. There are other threads that hint at this but none of the workarounds seem to work. I go to add the speaker in the iOS app, it recognises it, goes through the setup and then tells me I will need to connect via iOS accessory setup. There is a button in the app that says “Go to accessory setup” which doesn’t work. Others have posted a workaround - minimise the app, go to ios settings, wifi, and select the Move - this starts but ultimately produces an error and fails. I have tried my iphone and ipad. My wife’s ipad is still on iOS 14.2 and gets further through this workaround than my phone or ipad but still ends in an error.I’ve spoken twice to technical support and couldn’t get any further than the advice to try and find a friend or neighbour to borrow an Android phone from for a couple of minutes to set up the speaker with! This seems to be a known issue with sonos
I was using Airplay 2 to play sound to a Move, which was in the sun room along with other Sonos speakers. I tried joining the Move to the Sun Room, Kitchen, and Living Room Speakers, and the music would start playing on the speakers, then stop on all the other speakers, but continue playing on the Move. This happened several times when I tried joining them together. Diagnostic Report #254890345.
Help! I got my Sonos Move today. I have older products and use the Sonos1 app. I cannot get the Sonos Move to connect to the system.
I brought my Move with me to a vacation rental house for the month and have struggled to get it to work in this network. I’d prefer not to switch to Bluetooth because multiple people use this Move. At home my Move is part of a Sonos setup with several other speakers. I brought it to this house, followed instructions to setup the move, also reset the Sonos app on my phone, followed the steps to setup a new device, played a song, and then the next day my iOS app says “Unable to connect to Sonos.” I went through the whole setup again and hours later it went back to the same message. Any idea what the issue is?
I bought a MYX Fitness bike with 22” Bluetooth enabled display. The bike pairs with Bluetooth headphones but doesn’t recognize my Move. My Move is working and pairs with other wireless devices. I contacted MYX and they said they don’t support wireless speakers (I didn’t know it was possible for a Bluetooth device to pair with headphones but not Bluetooth speakers). However the bike does pair and connect to my old Big Jambox wireless speaker. I’ve seen the thread here that Peloton has a similar issue. Anyone able to surmise whether or not I’ll be able to connect to the MYX bike… and how? thanks!
The Sonos Move is my first and only Sonos device and I can’t get it to connect to my wifi. I have Xfinity wifi with a Deco 5 mesh network. I tried turning off 5GHz network on the Deco, but that didn’t help. Any ideas?
HiI just got a Move, at first all seams to work fine, but after some hours on the charging ring it just stoped working. The battery was flat and it didn't charge on the ring. Charling directly with USB-C works fine and it connects and play fine. The charging indicator on the app is only on when the USB-C is connected. I have tried multiple outlets (they all works for all other devices). I have tried to measure the power from the connectors on the ring using a voltmeter, no indication of any output. Any fix ? Regards Christian
Hi, I purchased sonos move this week. I am trying to connect wifi, but I don’t know how to get rid of the attached page. It stays on the screen forever. Please let me know if there is any fix for this. Thanks,Bipin
Right out of the box the instruction says if you already have the Sonos app, which I do, it says to open the app (which I did) and choose More>Settings>Add a Bridge/Boost. Where is More on the app? I am using the Sonos 2 app. I cannot find More. I tried the Settings button first but nothing? In Settings when I hit +Add Product I get a Searching for nearby products message. That’s it. So where is that More button?
Have tried deleting S2 app, factory reset sonos move, reinstall etc worls fine with bluetooth on my Iphone11 but not my wifes iphon 8when reinstalling it does not connect to my wifi network, it finds the speaker but stops at can not connect . It couldnt add move to the system tab, somehow i succeded with that but after clicking on the icon for move, it says time to finalize blabla la” and then”adding sonos move” stand for a while then ” your mobile unit can not communicate with sonos. Check network and try again”
My Move is connected to my WiFi router most of the time. However, there are times I need it to connect to a WiFi extender. Is it possible to set it up so that it connects to whichever (router or router extender) that has the best signal?
Hi All,I’m a heavily invested long term user of Sonos and contemplating the trade up program to bring my system to S2 compatibility. However I’m pretty concerned by what seems to be widespread issues around the S2 controller stability, with so many users reporting connectivity issues after moving from S1 to S2.I was hoping this might be early teething issues with the S2 app, but after reading recent reviews on the apple App Store (as recent as this week) it seems the same issues are still present and quite widespread. Specifically the issues I’m referring to are where the S2 controller/app fails to find the Sonos system, speakers drop off, random disconnection issues and delays when pausing/skipping tracks. I see that Sonos support seem to be in complete denial of these issues blaming the user’s network/environment, but completely ignoring the fact the problems started immediately after switching from S1 to S2.Can fellow community members comment on their experience with S2, specifi
Starting a new Sonos system with all new Sonos 2 equipment. Got and connected two Move speakers to my home network. Two days later I received a Boost and connected it to my Orbi router with an ethernet cable. I expected the Moves would “see” and connect to the new Sonos network automatically. Didn’t happen. The Moves work on what shows as the home network, no mention of a Sonos network, but I don’t trust that will continue. I had a lot of drop out issues with an older Sonos system until I ethernet connected one of the components to the router and set up a dedicated Sonos network. After that, all was fine. The IP addresses for all three are the same with the exception of the last two digits. The Boost is WM:0, the two Moves are WM:1. Is this as it should be?I have more Sonos 2 product on order and want to get this worked out before tackling the rest of it.
I just received my Move today. All set up and playing. Sounds great. I have both Port & Boost coming next week. Question. All my Sonos is on my wifi router. When I get my Port and Boost should connect my Port first before connecting my Boost? Is there a certain procedure to connect Boost when all of the Sonos are already on a router wifi?
Hello, I'm french so I'm sorry by advance for my english.I own a Sonos Move and I live in two different house (I change house every week) and I i bring my Sonos Move in my two houses. At first it worked perfectly, I could connect my Sonos Move in both of my networks. However, it's been more than a month that I need to factory reset my Sonos Move every week because it cannot connect the the new networks. Everytime I try to do the setup where I click on "New router or changed WIFI settings". Then it says to put the speaker on the charging base and click on the "infinity" button behind the speaker (what I do everytime I try). And then it says that it can deconnect my phone from my actual network for a few moments during the setup of my speaker. But after 1-2min it says that there was a problem while trying to connect to my Sonos and I don't why I can't connect my Sonos Move to a new WIFI even that it can actually connect to 16 different networks. If anyone could help me with that problem i
