Have seen a video from Not Enough Tech, regarding using 2 era 300 as surrounds and 2 era 300 as a stereo pair, along with arc and 2 subs. What do you think of his setup?

Any advice or help gratefully received! TIA!I’ve had a Playbar and 2 Play1 speakers for about 10 years which have served me well. However, space wise I need to move the Playbar out to create more room. The question is, should I get the Ray (much smaller for a compact room) with 2 Era 100 speakers, just the Era speakers and connect them via Bluetooth from my smart TV (Samsung) or just the Ray and use it with the 2 Play 1 speakers? Thank you!

after the latest update to 15.8 my rear play 1s seem to be dropping out and it changes the whole sound profile. The sound gets super flat and its very noticable when they come back. It happens fairly often. I had issues upating them to 15.8 while everything else updated fine. The sonos app would error a few times but eventually showed no updates available. Any ideas how I can fix his?setup: sonos playbase, sub, play1s connected to wifi

I’ve got a Beam Gen 2 with a pair of Play 1’s for surround, using a Samsung QE49Q60 TV. Dolby Atmos works just fine via streaming services (ie ‘Rings of Power’ on Amazon) and sounds great. When I check the Sonos app on my phone, I can see that the soundtrack is playing in Atmos.Problem is, I can’t get Atmos out of either of my available blu-ray players. The one I use for this setup is a Samsung UBD-K8500. 5:1 works just fine, but playing, for instance, the 4K disc of ‘Dune’, the Dolby Atmos soundtrack only comes out as 5:1.Checking the sound settings on the TV, the ‘Dolby Digital+’ option is greyed out.I tested with our living room blu ray player - a Panasonic DMP UB900, and things were even more disappointing. Various changes to the settings got me no further than a stereo output for pretty much any disc I tried - and in every case the only option in the TV’s sound setting was to output for PCM.The Beam is connected to the eArc input on the TV, the players via HDMI to the TV.Looking o

I have an arc in the main room and ceiling speakers in the same room. The amp for those speakers is in a rack in the basement. Can I make the amp surrounds if the amp is not line of site to the arc? 

Hi all, I’ve just purchased a Hisense 65U8HAU TV which supports Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. I am pairing this with my Beam Gen 2.  When playing audio from the TV to the sound bar, my app says Dolby Digital Plus 5.1, rather than Dolby Atmos.  I have done some googling and all of the advice online refers me to the TV’s sound settings, which are completely different on the Australian model compared to the USA model. The sound settings I can adjust say that the audio enhancement is Dolby Atmos. The sound bar is connected through the ARC, and the TV is up to date.When accessing Netflix and Disney+, it also says the maximum audio quality is 5.1.Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi, I've a modern Samsung frame TV and currently the audio goes through two Sonos era 100s. Occasionally there is a lip sync delay. Can this be rectified? Would a wired connection rather than a Bluetooth connection solve the problem?

Hi, I have a sonos home theatre system using a playbar, sub ans two play:1’s. It has been working fine for several years until last week when the playbar suddenly reports a weak connection to wifi causing the system to drop out.I know the the wifi signal in my lounge is great everywhere and especially where the playar is as the tv, blueray and sky boxes have strong wifi connections. I’m suspicious that the playbar wifi receiver is failing so I have obtained a wifi repeater to make sure the platbar is getting a very strong signal. The playbar seems to prefer to connect to my router’s wifi rather than the repeater’s though. I find the sonos app really poor for configuration as it decides for itself what to connect to not giving the user any control. Any suggestion?

I am contemplating changing my LED TV which is located on a TV cabinet for a projector which would be mounted from the Ceiling.This would mean repositioning my Beam due to no longer using a cabinet which is located on the floor.Can the Beam be mounted on a separate wall to that of the projector and the projector screen and slightly out of view to the seating ? or does it need to be mounted on the same wall as the screen ?

Back again with my questions….and today it goes like this:  There was a little bird flying pass my ears who mention something bout the Sonos Ray could be used as a surround-speaker and intentionally it could be placed in a vertical position. And that somehow COULD produce the “missing” up-fireing speaker in a Beam G2/Arc config. Of course you need two Ray’s like any other surround-speaker if you wondered.Is this possible?

Can Sonos Playbar volume be controlled with an Amazon Firestick? I suspect not because the stick is Bluetooth and the Playbar isn’t, but I thought that as the stick controls TV volume and the Playbar is connected to the TV, then there should be a way around it. I’ve also asked on the Amazon forum

So Ive been having issues where my sound cuts in and out on  my 300s when paired with my arc and sub in stereo mode.   It was recommended to me by someone who works at best buy to buy a sonos boost and that should fix the connectivity issue.  I later read online that if you plug in a speaker to the router itll do the same.  So Im wondering whats going to work the best.

For late night listening, or for improved hearing needs, I have wireless headphones which connect to the TV via optical, and an optical out (converted to hdmi) to the beam. Since there is no hdmi to the beam via the hdmi/arc port, I can’t program my remote to work. So, I’ve ordered a simple remote to control the volume on the beam. Yes, perhaps I can control the volume via the sonos app, but that requires even visitors to have access to my phone - here or asleep or not.

I have bought a Sony TV for the kitchen and as it has a pretty decent picture I thought I might add a Ray. The TV has only ‘arc HDMI’ or optical out,  so I wondered whether there might be a lip sync problem when feeding the audio from my SKY Q box ‘via’ the TV.I previously did have a lip sync problem with a similarly arc equipped Samsung TV and Beam. The audio from the SKY Q satellite box was slightly delayed ( lip sync problem ) but TV apps’ audio, direct from the TV into the Beam was fine.  Thanks in anticipation…..Tom

Hi!i’ve a playbar, a sub and 4 play one speakers.The playbar is connected to my Sony tv with optical cable because The playbar doesn’t have arc input.i’ve created my sourround system room with sub, soundbar under tv and 2 play one on my back. In order to add the other 2 play one as left & right channels i’ve created a new room and i’ve made a Group with the two rooms.The PROBLEM is that when i turn up and down the volume using the remote control of my tv the play one L&R doesn’t change the volume.is it possible to connect the L&R speakers in the same room of sourrond system?  kind regardssimone

Hi Had the Arc for a few months now. (Linked to 2019 Sony Bravia) Until recently we were able to get clear sound with tv volume on about 15, but now we have to increase to about 40.  Have the bass on 6 and treble on 4. (Someone on here suggested these settings) Have also done the Trueplay tuning a few times.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Tried to move my Google assistant from the Ones to my Beam gen2 and it didnt install removed it from the Ones and tried to add. Now it doesn’t show the assistant for even the Ones. 

Guys, we own an LG OLED65W9PLA wallpaper TV but are not impressed with the sound we are getting from the LG soundbar. The wallpaper TV is 3mm thick (or so) and therefore all the connections are built into an external device that also houses the speakers and Dolby Atmos system (the “connection bar”). We run the TV in a large room (something like 80 sqm) that opens up open plan style into an entrance area and a corridor. The floor is entirely stone tiles with two large carpets, but acoustically I think this environment is a challenge. We have not really been satisfied with the sound we are getting from the speakers in the LG connection bar and are thinking of replacing it with a Sonos system. However, as the LG soundbar also functions as the external domain for the TV electronics and connections, we cannot physically remove it and replace it with a Sonos soundbar - it would need to stay.We are thinking of installing some solution involving the Arc soundbar, one of the “immersive sets”. Hi all,I’m tryIng to use the Onkyo / Sonos connection to send sound from a TV to another room. The Onkyo and Sonos networks are connected via WiFi, hard wiring is not an option. While I can configure the system to play back the TV output sound from the Onkyo to Sonos Connect 2 and then to Sonos Play 1 speakers, there is one problem. There’s a transmission delay built in, causing the sound in room 2 to be about 0,7 seconds behind the source room. It sounds like a stadium PA to put it charitably. I have been told this is a digital delay (buffering) built into the system. Understandable, but drives me mad. This transmission delay only exists with sound from the TV (Sony 4K using HDMI Arc connnection to the Onkyo receiver). CDs, DVDs and LPs(!) all work fine. Ditto streaming & internet radio services.On a previous (Onkyo) receiver I used the Tape In / Tape Out analog ports and had no difficulties with this. Anybody have a nice hack? HiI invested Sonos Beam Gen 1 one year ago for my PC (I use a sound card to connect beam with my PC). It worked smoothly for 3 months and after it doesn’t work anymore. I thought maybe the soundcard had a problem but I tried another and it had no sound coming out of the Beam. I tried to change Sonos optical audio adapter but it gave me the same results as previous attempts. I don’t know what is happening with my Beam.  

My Ray doesn’t seem to work with a Samsung TV 3D LED 46" UE46C7000WP. The tv doesn’t have the same optical audio plug of the ray (TOSLINK) but rather a mini TOSLINK, so I bought an adapter on Amazon but the Ray won’t work still. I have tried to play with settings (and of course selected external audio on the TV) but it won’t play still.The ray works with airplay on my Apple TV so that’s definitely not the problem. Any idea how to fix? Is is the tv too old (I guess it’s about 10 years old)Thanks!

Hi, I’m having in mind using Sonos Ray along with my The Frame TV (digital optical connection) and in the same room there will be Sonos Five connected to Sony turntable via 3.5mm port. Given the presence of both speakers in the room, I would want to use both Five and Ray on a basis of Sonos app for both TV and turntable. Do you see any issues with this setup?Note: I know that this is not an ideal home theater solution, but that is not the plan here - we have projector in another room which serves as our home theater and there we will go for more typical setup (Arc etc.). Also, there are some limitations in terms of interior design which prevent us using anything else than Ray.  i
