Hi everyone 👋I’m looking for some advice on which HDMI audio extractor to use with a simple home theater setup.My setup is: Sonos Beam 2× Sonos One SL (rear surrounds) Sonos Sub (Gen 2) Apple TV Projector (not 4K) I don’t need Dolby Atmos — I only need Dolby Digital 5.1 and I’m not trying to pass anything more advanced than that.Up until now I’ve been using a Nedis HDMI audio extractor between the Apple TV and the projector/Sonos. It worked fine for a long time, but recently the audio suddenly drops out after a while when watching content via Apple TV. If I restart my Sonos Beam the audio comes back, but then disappears again after some time.If I play audio directly via the Sonos app there are no issues at all, so it doesn’t seem to be the Beam itself.So I’m just

I’ve talked to support several times about this issue but I cannot get my Eras to work properly with the Beam. I cannot get 5 seconds without a drop. They hung up on me with it not resolved. Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.

Always when I change volume of tv by my tv remote control it appears text on tv: "the volume of the sound is constant" + warning sign.  It is just annoying 

Hi, I have a Sony Bravia 8 and have my Sonos Arc Ultra with Sub 3 and 2 Era 300sWhen I watch a movie doesn’t matter the audio format Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital Plus etc, I get intermittent audio dropouts/glitches throughout the movie randomly and happens for a second around every 15-30 mins during the movie. Very annoying I have contacted Sonos support and after being through 6 people the 7th person finally knew what I was talking about and they said they are aware of the issue but have no information at this time. hopefully this gets sorted and they fix this issue in the next update.

I wanted to gauge from the community as to whether or not people are experiencing bad sound quality through their arc ultra speakers as I have had two units and both have produced a slightly distorted/fuzzy sound specifically from the right side of the speaker. I don’t know if it’s bad luck or not but wanted to check with others to see if they’re also experiencing this and what they did to fix it? My arc ultra is connected to my Samsung tv through the eARC port with the cable provided and use my Apple TV 4K Gen 1 to watch content. The fuzzy noise is present when watching any kind of media through the Apple TV as well as when I’m streaming music through the Sonos app and even when adding the product to my system through the chime it plays as well as during the trueplay tuning. I have even changed the settings on the Samsung tv such that sound is output via pass through rather than automaticAny help would be much appreciated, I will try get the product

Hello. A few months ago I bought a Sonos Arc Ultra, 2 Era 300s and two Sub 4s. It's working on an 85" TCL TV connected to an Apple TV 4K. The audio quality is spectacular. However, I'm having two problems:When I leave the system off for 10 minutes, when I turn it back on, the sound takes about 5 seconds to be heard. It's as if the amplifiers are turned off and only turn on after receiving a signal via HDMI.The other problem is the lack of volume under certain conditions. I've done extensive research online, and absolutely everything in the TV and Apple TV setup is in line with what's needed to get the best results. I've also tried TruePlay in various ways. Few content can be heard satisfactorily in terms of volume without using at least 70%.For comparison, I also have a Bose 600 + 5" subwoofer, and the volume of both systems is very similar, perhaps a little louder with the Bose.I've tried using the Apple TV output only, but the volume results are the same

Hi Sonos Community,I recently bought a pair of Era 100s to use as surrounds to my Sonos Ray soundbar.Long story short the Era 100s immediately lose the connection when I add them as surrounds to my Ray, even though the Sonos app gives me a confirmation that it’s all set up.After trying all the troubleshooting steps I reached out to Sonos support and they told me that this is a known issue caused by my Vodafone Ultra Hub router, and the only solution is to hardwire them together in order to work as surrounds, there is no wireless workaround / solution.It’s pretty disappointing that I cannot use half of these speakers functionality due to this incompatibility, especially that my router is not specifically listed as incompatible by Sonos.Anyone else experienced this issue? Any suggestions I can try? Maybe a new router to create a separate network for these speakers..Any advice would be appreciated :) 

hi everyone, i just upgraded my tv and unplugged my 2013 playbar. it was working perfectly before, but now that i've plugged it back in, there's no power.the only sign of life is a split-second flash of the three ethernet lights when i plug the cable into the back; after that, it goes completely dead. i’ve already ruled out the outlets and cables by testing them with other devices—the issue is definitely the bar itself.is this a known hardware failure, or is there a trick to bringing it back to life? thanks in advance!

I wanted to share this in case someone else runs into the same frustrating issue I did: TV: TCL P7K QLED Google TV (2025 model) Soundbar: Sonos Playbar (2015) Connection: Optical cable (no HDMI ARC) Remote: TCL stock remote (IR + Bluetooth hybrid) 🧨 The Problem:The Sonos S1 app wouldn’t complete remote pairing. Sometimes it would recognize the first Volume + press, sometimes not. If it did, it would fail on Volume - and say “volume control with optical is not supported” (which is nonsense — Playbar is designed for IR+optical). Disabling HDMI-CEC on the TV didn’t help. IR confirmed working via phone camera. Bluetooth turned off didn’t work. Factory reset on the bar made no difference. Universal remote wouldn't pair either (even t

Just unboxed an d the power cord will not stay connected. Seems to just fall out. 

Hi Ive just reset my Sonos playbase and play 1 surrounds as they disappeared out of the S2 app when I changed the sonosnet wifi channel.  Unfortunately now it’s reset and working again the same remote which worked fine before the reset is not being picked up by the latest iOS Sonos app.  I have a Hisense 55U7A.  It’s an IR only remote no Bluetooth.  Just tried a universal remote and still have the same issue. Edit just tried the android app as well and amazingly this DOES pick up the Hisense remote.  So this bug is specific to the iOS app and unfortunately hasn’t been tested by their developers.  Thank god we have an android phone in the house as well.  Not great Sonos!

Hi everyone,I can’t seem to catch a break with the Arc Ultra. The first two units I received had the distorted sound issue. I’ve now received my third unit — the distortion is gone, but I think I may have another problem but wanted to check with the community.The left side of the speaker sounds noticeably flatter and less punchy than the right, with a clear difference in bass output. I tested this by playing music through the Sonos app and running my hand across the speaker — the right side pushes out significantly more air, while the left feels much weaker, almost as if most of the bass is coming from the right.I’ve also noticed a slight echo sound when watching videos on YouTube via my Apple TV 4K which is connected to my Samsung TV. Is this normal behaviour or do I need to do something to prevent this from happening? I’ve already changed the output to passthrough on my TV as I’ve read that should be done to let the Arc Ultra handle the sound?I’ve run b

Hi all I have just installed a Beam gen 2. I have set my LG tv to allow Dolby Atmos via eArc and I can see from the app that my Beam has a Dolby Atmos input. When I listen to Dolby Atmos content though I can’t seem to hear much difference to be honest. I have also tried Spatial Audio on Apple Music and again can’t really determine any difference.  I maybe expecting too much and it’s early days but I am wondering if my Beam may be faulty. Has anybody got any experience of this? 

Hello all!I own an Arc Ultra for my small living room. I am looking to make a Home Cinema with 2 x Roam 2. Will I be able to do it? I am thinking since the living room is small, 2 Roam 2 could be more than enough, and I will be able to use them as portable speakers for the terrace. Please, let me know if you think the set up (Arc Ultra+ 2 x Roam 2) is meant to be a home cinema. Thank you so much!

Hello. I have just bought a new TV (Hisense 50E7QTUK). I have followed the instructions, I believe carefully, to set up the new remote. Obviously, I have connected it using the optical connection. When I get to the point during setup to press UpVolume, I get the usual attached error message.Now, here’s the odd thing. If I try with Bluetooth switched on for the TV/Remote comms, the message appears after some seconds (ie, times out, expected behaviour). If I switch Bluetooth off (as recommended on many forums) so that my remote is purely IR, the same error message appears straight away. I have also tried an old, IR only control. I have also factory reset my Soundbar. The remote batteries are fresh and there is clear line of sight.What’s next please? 

I own a Sonos Arc Ultra and two Era 300 speakers. I would like to use the Arc Ultra together with the two Era 300s as a home theater setup, but also be able to quickly use the two Era 300s independently as a stereo pair.In my experience, the sound quality of the two Era 300s in pure stereo without the Arc ultra is significantly better for music listening than when all speakers are combined in a home theater setup. Unfortunately, switching between these two use cases is currently not quick or convenient. I would strongly appreciate a feature that allows multiple setup presets to be saved and switched between. Ideally, these presets would retain their individual Trueplay tuning settings. For example: When I want to watch a movie, I select a “Home Theater” preset, where the Arc Ultra and the two Era 300s play together. When I want to listen to music the next day, I select a “Stereo Music” preset, where the Era 300s automati

Hey folks. I’m running my Sony XBR-55X9004 TV through an Epson projector. The audio when watching TV programming (primarily sports) changed to very weak recently. Worked fine until recently. I first tried a new HDMI but that didn’t help. I then noticed the Stereo PCM display on my Sonos App. I have to crank the volume way up to get adequate volume. Volume works normally when listening to music via Sonos (displays Dolby Atmos) but when switching to TV the volume diminishes and display switches to Stereo PCM. The TV feed comes from a Sony TV (casting to a separate room using the projector). Everything else works great. Any help is appreciated! 

I’ve been suffering for 2 years with intermittent choppy audio via HDMI ARC on my Sonos AMP.  Swapped cables, tried short cable extenders nothing helped.  Sometime it would go for weeks and then start - I’d power cycle TV and Amp no joy.Came across this post: https://en.community.sonos.com/home-theater-229129/arc-loose-hdmi-6877144 I thought what the hell I’ll try it.  Well it worked.  I sliced 3 mm of the shell around the HDMI connector - plugged it back in and BAM - problem solved.

Hi I've had this issue for a few weeks whereby every now and then - and I cannot put my finger on how often it occurs, maybe once a day, where the sound reduces and the green light flashes for a few seconds (like it's updating or something) then comes back to normal. Is this normal? It's bloody annoying.  Thanks

I have an Sonos Arc and era 100’s bought 2 era 300 and have had a terrible time hooking them up to all play the same thing at once. I keep getting a small crackle sound from the era 300’s. I figured they were defective exchange them and even the new ones are doing the same thing! I reset my router and all the speakers to factory settings and still happens. Why is this happening??

Hello everyone, We’ve had annoying issues to say the least with our Sonos system (beam + 2x One SL) since the November update.  We had no issues up until then, everything worked perfectly, be it when we played music, watched tv or used any streaming service. But since November, it’s all gone haywire and it’s driving me crazy. I keep trying to change the settings but nothing works, no setting stays the same for everything like it used to. Before that darn update, I only touched *once* the settings, and that’s when we installed the system over 2 years ago. It worked oh so well up until November.  Dialogues are muffled, but then all the other sounds are too loud. I have to turn up the volume to hear what’s being said and then end up deafening the whole house when all the other sounds come on. It’s like the sound is on stereo. And then, sounds aren’t on time with the image. It was NEVER like this.  We contacted the customer service and had n
