My home theater setup is Philips 55inch tv, Ultra Arc, sonos Sub and 2 era 100 speakers for the rear.

Since the problem with the arc and apple tv working together with atmos with my 10 year old tv, Im looking for a replacement for my tv. I have had it with resetting all the time for good sound.

Only…..every where I look there seem to be a problem with the Arc and the Apple TV together for using Atmos and sound in general.

Is there a recommendation for a good 4k tv where they all work together smoothly?

Thanks for the responses. To clarify — I have the Arc Ultra, not the Arc.

Are your experiences specifically with the Arc Ultra and Apple TV 4K? And which TV model are you using? I’m trying to find a confirmed working combination of a specific TV + Arc Ultra + Apple TV 4K with stable Dolby Atmos, without dropouts or resets.

I didn’t think you were referring to the discontinued Arc as I referenced the Arc Ultra. I haven’t purchased a TV since 2022 therefore model numbers are irrelevant today. What I was trying to convey that any LG with HDMI eARC should work. To clarify all my AppleTV boxes are AppleTV 4K. Once again Audio issues are typically connection oriented or firmware related which can be corrected via an update.

As long as the manufacturer has implemented ARC/eARC properly, there should be no issues. I have both a recent Samsung and a recent LG, both with no problems.

I use three (3) LG’s with Arc Ultra the oldest being from 2018 and a 2014 Sony Bravia with a Beam2. All have AppleTV input to an available HDMI. No sound issues.

The TV requires an HDMI eARC port for the ArcUltra.

Something to try for the Dolby Atmos dropouts on Apple TV 4K, if you have tvOS 26.4, is the new Continuous Audio Connection setting. When on, it sends all audio in Dolby MAT (which sonos displays as Dolby Atmos, even when it isn’t). It has helped some people with dropouts or audio switching delays. My preference is to leave it off though.

Thank you for clarifying!

Indeed all problems seem to be connected to the (buggy) eARC problems. So I should have a look at LG. Thank you!

A perceived issue is frequently the TV’s OS hasn’t been updated, make sure you download and install the latest. After that, I frequently suggest a reload of the OS, by unplugging both the TV and the Sonos from the wall for at least two minutes.

I always have the latest updates installed on my tv, apple tv and sonos gear. I already frequently reload all my sonos, tv and apple tv.
Hoped with buying the right tv, not to have to do that anymore….
