I'm considering buying a Sonos Beam to go with a Samsung 48-inch QLED Q70R TV but I keep reading about audio sync issues with Samsung and other TVs. Has anyone gotten the Beam to work via HDMI with no lip syncing issues? Thanks.

I've successfully connected my Beam to my Vizio M550SL using the Optical Out connection (my model does not have an ARC). I turned off the TV speakers through the Vizio main menu, but whenever I turn the TV off then on again, the TV speakers revert back to turning on, and the audio is played through both the TV speakers and the Beam, causing an echoing sound. To fix the issue, I simply go back to the Vizio menu and turn off the TV speakers again, but I was wondering is this was an issue anyone else had experienced, and if there was a way for me to turn off the TV speakers permanently? Hi I am looking at buying the new Sonos AMP for my lounge, with the Sub and a pair of Bose 791 speakers. However, I need to understand how the ARC works. I want the options of having the TV sound, Sky, PS4 coming out of my speakers when I want it, but the rest of the time, I just want it to use the speakers built into the TV. Is this selectable or if I use the ARC, does the sound always need to come through the Sonos AMP?

I have a play 1 speaker. I am unable to connect Sonos to the new provider. I have followed the instructions, but when I try to connect via settings - wifi, sonos network is not offered to me. I have also tried the alternative method that's offered using an ethernet cable, but I get a message advising me to check the power and/or the cable connection. Any suggestions regarding what I can do next?

I have an LG TV that's has an RF remote and cant control my Sonos volume. Does anyone have a universal IR/RF remote recommendation? I hate using my iphone to control the volume.

I have just bought a Sonos Beam for use with my LG47LA740 ZB. I used the HDMI ARC slot and used my controller on the app to try to connect - didn't work. Used the adaptor and plugged into Optical Output - sound works! Any reason why sound doesn't work using recommended HDMI ARC connection???

Hello, I've read every post on this and looking to confirm a few things related to connecting a Projector to a Playbar by way of Blue Ray Player. I have a few quick questions: Would a Blue Ray Player work to be the bridge between a projector (with not Optical port) and the Playbar? The Projector will not have Optical, so would it work to use ONLY HDMI (wired or wireless) from the Projector to a Blue Ray Player, assuming the Blue Ray players sends DDS and has Optical (to connect directly to Playbar)? Or, does there need to be some sort of Audio connection between the projector and the Blue Ray Player? One of the Projectors I'm looking at has an S/PDIF port, would that work to connect to the Optical part of a Blue Ray Player? Most projectors only have HDMI and not even S/PDIF, with only like "Audio Out" ports for what look like headphone jacks. What is the fix here?

I have a sonos beam connected to a Panasonic TX-40EX700B using a sky Q mini box to provide the picture source. The sky Q mini is connected to HDMI 1 and the beam via the HDMI arc port on the TV. Every time I change a channel the beam makes an loud beep for a few seconds then the sound resumes as normal. If I change the sky mini sound settings to 'normal' from 'DD' the beep disappears. i'm not sure whether this is a limitation with the beam, TV or sky Q mini box, at the moment I watch everything in stereo as I'm worried the high frequency beep could in some way damage the sound bar at higher volumes. I'm hoping somebody may have experienced this problem and found a work around.

I recently purchased the Playbar and sub and have been happy with it so far. I’m contemplating purchasing 2 Play 1’s to set up as a 5.1 system but am wondering hoping for some input on those of you that have went this route. Is it worth it? I mostly use my system for Netflix, Movies streamed from Apple TV, and DirectTV broadcasts. I have a Sony x850e if that weighs in at all with what audio channels it transmits in. I just don’t want to spend the money on Play 1’s to have very little broadcast in true 5.1 surround.

Hi all Ive a Beam, and 2 Play 1s, connected via HDMI Arc to a Sony Bravia kd-55xd8577 I have connected the speakers correctly to the Beam, but cant figure out how to get surround sound working! Do I need to connect the TV to the Beam via Optical cable? I cant see anywhere in the Sony menus, to output Dolby Any help really appreciated

i have a BenQ projector: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01K2V0WP4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and a Sonos Amp connected to four Klipsch outdoor speakers. I tried: Roku -> HDMI input on the Projector -> projector audio out -> RCA input on the Amp but the audio delay is very noticeable. What is the best way for me to connect a Roku streaming stick+ to the Amp for best audio fidelity and remove the audio delay? I just hooked up a brand new sonos amp to my tv. It’s an older samsung so it doesn’t have hdmi arc. I used the official sonos hdmi to optical adapter but am not able to get sound from the tv. I can confirm that the speakers are set up and working (can stream to them via Google Play Music). I have used the optical out from my Tv before with other receivers and can confirm it works. Have tried plugging and unplugging all connections. Help please!!

I am trying to use Optoma UHD 51A projector (it has optical out) connected to a Roku with 5.1 Sonos setup. I did some digging and stlll not entirely sure if I understand all options / info is a couple of years old to get 5.1 surround and hence adding a new question. 1. Is there a way to achieve 5.1 with the Roku Ultra player itself? I have set audio and HDMI settings to Dolby Digital (not Dolby Digital Plus) but still getting Stereo when checking the app (more / settings / about sonos). Can I add a HDMI switch to get roku to work? Note that the roku app even when connected with a TV does not provide 5.1 with same settings for some reason although the native samsung tv netflix app does. 2. If I cannot get 5.1 out of Roku, what are my other options? Bluray player recommendations that are known to work with projectors? (The ones I could find in the threads are no longer available) 3. Another point I learnt from here is that the projector may not pass through 5.1 even is the source does

This feature request is for Sonos support Dolby Digital Plus, also known as E-AC-3 or DD+. This would permit a higher quality audio experience when watching surround sound-enabled videos. Here is the issue in point wise manner: 1:I recently bought sonos playbase, which have only optical audio input. 2: But my TV has regular 02 HDMI and 01 HDMI ARC ports (I don’t want other audio outputs to use be cause of poor audio output quality) and TV has no optical output. 3: I watch content on my TV using Apple TV 4K , which has only single HDMI port as output. NOTE: I don’t want to use AIR PLAY for SONOS due to audio lag issues. MY CONCERNS: 1: If I choose a HDMI audio video splitter will it affect my Apple TV video quality. 2: If I choose the splitter should I use it take input from apple TV and then put HDMI output from Splitter to TV and Optical out put to SONOS playbase. OR 3: I should use Splitter at HDMI ARC as input to splitter and optical out put from splitter to SONOS playbase. What difference will it make between choosing Option 2 and 3 (of My concerns). We have a Samsung Series 5 TV (Model UE40UK5500) connected to a soundbar through which we can stream music via the Spotify (Free version) app which came pre-installed on the TV. We are considering purchasing a Sonos Beam to go with our two Sonos Ones we have in our 'Living Room' to give us a 5:1 surround sound experience (we have a third in our 'Bedroom' but that would not be involved in this set up). My questions are... Would we still be able to use our free Spotify account or, would we be forced to upgrade to Spotify premium? Would we be able to configure the two Sonos Ones in the Living room so that we can use them just to stream music from Google Play Music or Apple without involving the Sono Beam? Or, is that a bad idea and so, we it be better to include the Sonos Beam when playing music? Thanks.

Why is it that Sonos dont make a wireless receiver fo 3rd party subwoofer? I would like to buy the sonos beam, but i cannot use my existing subwoofer. I hope they make a wireless receiver for 3rd paty subwoofer

Watching a dvd that supports 5.1 I have beam and 2 plays. The trailers and the start up menu are playing in 5.1 but the film itself isn't. Any ideas. About my sonos switches to stereo when film starts.

I’m having intermittent wifi issues and when it drops out my Sonos Beam which is connected to the TV via HDMI ARC drops out as well for a few seconds. Why would that be when it has a direct connection?

Setup the new beam today, no problem getting it working. Problem is with lip sync - I have a Samsung UHD 8000 series with Sky (in the UK). Beam is connected via ARC. Tried adjusting delay via the app and TV and can’t get it to sync, so really frustrating. Any ideas? Didn’t have this problem with the Playbar (connected via optical). Thanks Toby

There are people that would like the speech enhancement as a setting and not have to enable it every-time. Is this feature coming as there are older people that need it. If NOT IT NEEDS TO BE.

In both rooms we have sonos playbar & sub. In the living room we have 2x play 3 +1x sonos 5. In the tv room, we have 2x sonos 1 + 1x sonos play. We not really watch move. We love music and We going often at the concert (Metallica, Godsmack, Volbeat, Seether, Etc.) And I would like make a surprise to my husband and get a music room( in the living room or in the tv room). Before got the tv room, the 2 sub were I n the living room, but we not see the difference, we try different seting, moving the sub. All time the sound is clear..... but our clothes don't move 😉. What I can/need for all our Saturday Night is like a Metallica concert?

When I switch to a music service on the Playbar, I noticed it affects the volume range for the TV audio. Going from music to the TV--->the audio seems low. I will raise the volume on the remote to hear the TV. It will be about 70-80 (out of 100) on the screen. It is usually at about 20 for the volume and it is fine. There are times that I noticed I reach the max and barely hear the audio from the TV To get out of this condition, I change the volume to zero on the TV and then do the same on the App. The volume then works properly,
