New to Sonos. Currently have a Samsung 65 J6300 Series and considering upgrading to Samsung 65Q80T to pair up with my new Arc and Sub, which I must say< I am enjoying tremendously. My question is should I choose to upgrade it appears I should be able to get Atmos as the new Samsung indicates it has eARC.  Is anyone currently using this set up and is it working as anticipated?

I am moving house soon and was planning on buying Sonos Beam to go with existing two Play:1s and a sub for surround sound. Now my head has been turned by the Sonos Arc, instead of the Beam. But I am a little concerned as to whether it will be compatible with my TV. It's a Samsung UE65NU7300K. I've attempted to source the answer online but have only succeeded in confusing myself, but have the inkling it is not going  to be. Does anyone have a definitive answer? And if it is not compatible, are there ways around it, ie adaptors etc?

I have acquired a Sonos Arc, my Samsung TV doesn’t do Atmos even over DD but my ATV does.  Im happy to use this as the only source of input for the Atmos as it has all the apps etc, before I invest in an (expensive, but cheaper than a new TV!) HDMI audio extractor and EDID emulator I wondered if anyone has tried this route and got it working to split out the sound from ATV HDMI output, so effectively the video goes to TV off one split channel and the audio to Sonos Arc?

Hi Just asked this in my other thread but think its best as a different topic. I want to get the ARC but I have concerns about playing discs with DTS on my oppo203 which is connected to my LG CX. I know DTS is lacking in both the LG CX and Sonos ARC, not a huge issue as I don't own many discs, but I still rent discs occasionally and some will be DTS. Would I get no sound at all or would It output in stereo? Just need to be sure on this as don't want to go buying an £800 soundbar to find i get no sound at all on DTS discs.   I have everything set as bitstream/passthrough.   Im not to fussed about transcoding DTS to DD on my player, if it can do that great, but if I leave it on bitstream I would just like to know if I will just get stereo.   The main thing is I want to be sure I will get some form of sound from DTS discs.   Thank you

I got my Arc yesterday. And i have it setup with a pair of Sonos ones. I had been using a playbar for the last 6  months or so. The Arc sounds good. But i honestly don’t know if it’s better than the playbar. I mean the features are better. But in terms or sound i think I enjoy the playbar better especially for music. I;m not a sound expert...just what i;ve noticed in the first day that I’ve had it.

The option to add 2 Sonos Moves with the Arc as surrounds does not exist.  Will that be an option in the future?

I’ve had my arc now for nearly two weeks and it randomly wakes up my TV.  I’ve proven its the ARC because before I had the ARC and just now reverting back to my beam, I don’t have this problem.  I’ve googled and tried all manner of things including: Powering off TV, disconnecting it from mains and reconnecting the HDMI to other ports and reconnecting Removing batteries from the remote control Disabling powering on using Mobile Removing the TV from the Samsung Smart things app Trying different HDMI cables I see a lot of people who owns this TV have this issue but none that have been, what appears to be, triggered by the Arc. https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Qled-and-Frame/Samsung-Q70R-TV-turns-on-by-itself/td-p/827155/page/9   Am I a

Just would like to ask those who has upgraded from Beam to Arc or those who own both items, if playing the same track from the same source, how they compare in terms of loudness? For example if I play a track on the Beam from Spotify and set the volume as 50%, then at about what percentage for the Arc to give the same loudness?

We installed a Sonos Beam-based surround sound system onto our Sony TV recently and have found many times that after turning off the TV, when we turn it back on, we get the Android start up screen, and the TV has to reboot. Any one else have this issue?

I have a new 2019 65” Samsung QLED TV just installed with the new Sonos ARC Soundbar. The soundbar worked great until the cable box was connected.  It said there was a conflict with the another connected device.  The Sonos was plugged into the HDMI ARC port and the cable box in HDMI port 1.  We changed the cable box to all the other HDMI ports and had the same problem.  I have spoke with Sonos and they said to plug the soundbar directly to the TV.  That’s not an option since the TV does not have any inputs outside the one connect box.  I have spoke with Samsung and they say it is not a Samsung issue.  I have family members with the same Samsung one connect box with other make soundbars plugged in without issue.  Do anyone else have this problem or a possible solution??

I have a solution. The HDMI cable that comes with Beam does not work. Use high speed quality HDMI cable and all your connection issues will be over. I am shocked that Sonos is supplying sub par equipment with Beam. Extremely frustrating and 2 days of my life wasted.

Hi i have update the app to S2 today, my play1 works fine however my Beam has a flashing white light.  I have tried to reset by unplugging the power and holding down the button on the back and plugging back in the power and holding for 30 seconds but it still flashes.  I have even reset my router at home, plugged in Ethernet cable to the router but still nothing.  The Beam is not getting an IP address and won’t reset, what do I do? thanks 

Hi -- I apologize if this has been asked before, but I couldn’t find it posted (at least recently).   I have a 5.1 surround setup with a playbar, sub (the old version) and two play:1’s. Would replacing the playbar with an Arc work pretty seamlessly? Or do I need the newer Sub to go with the arc?   Thanks for any help!  

I have a home theatre set up with a Playbase and two Ones as rear surounds. I always have to go to “About My System” tab to check if the system was indeed playing Dolby Digital 5.1.   With the release of the new Arc and Sonos S2 app. I can see the “TV Now Playing” screen will now display “Dolby Atmos” if the Arc is playing Dolby Atmos, which is brilliant. I think that is both a logical and convienient place to display the audio format that is being played.    My question is: Why only display Dolby Atmos? I think it will make a lot of sense if it can display all audio format that is being played: Stereo/Dolby Digital 5.1/Dolby Atmos etc. This will benefit all Sonos home theatre owners, beam/playbar/playbase and Arc included.

In youtube, someone mentioned that: “Until last night I wasn't hearing much from the Atmos effect, but now I am. I had to move my listening position forward 6 inches then the bar forward 6 inches. I then used the brown spacers (second from the thickest) under the rear of the bar, Atmos effects kicked in. The bubble for the effects seems rather narrow. I am now sitting 9 feet from the bar. 8 feet is where the top firing speakers are the strongest. I just can't justify shrinking the room another foot .”   It seems, as I always thought, that due to the fixed angle of the upward firing woffers, there must be a sweet spot for the maximum height effect.   Where is that sweet spot?    I tried to move my hearing position closer and further to/from the Arc, but not able to notice appreciable difference. Someone has commented on YouTube about some plastic “wedges” that were in the Arc box to allow for some tilting of the bar. Is this correct?    Nothing in my box!

Hi. I have the Oppo 203 and just received Arc. Due to DTS issues I previously had a 2x1 Toslink Audio Switch that I could toggle to play DTS movies in Dolby 5.1 from the Oppo. Other than using the Optical adaptor and manually swapping the HDMI cable everytime I watch a movie in DTS any other suggestions on settings on the Oppo player that will limit output from HDMI cable to Dolby 5.1.....there's no obvious menu selection on the HDMI output settings. TIA

I recently purchased an Optoma HD143x projector and I was planning on using my Sonos Beam and 2 x Sonos One speakers as the audio. However, I'm not sure how to set this up as there's no ARC connection in the projector. I tried ordering a HDMI Switch and plugging my beam into it, along with my chromecast but this didn't work either. Does anyone know if this projector is compatible with Sonos and if so, what is the correct way to set it up?

I just installed my Sonos Arc with Sonos Sub and 2 rear Sonos One SL. I hardwired the Sonos Arc to my Eero router. When I disable Wi-Fi on my Arc setting the Sonos Sub and Sonos one SL will stop working. For them to work all in sync the WiFi has to be enabled. Why did Sonos put and Ethernet connection if it will only work off WiFi. Or do I have to do disable the WiFi on sub and one also to work.. Sub and the Sonos one are not hard wired..  Anyone run into this problem? 

Like many people, my Beam blocks my TV’s IR sensor, making controlling the TV difficult. How would I use an IR repeater to fix that problem? The repeaters I see for sale have a USB connector, but the Beam does not.

I am now facing the much discussed issue of audio lag on Xbox One and PS4 using DD 5.1 and Atmos when playing to Sonos products via TV ARC on a LG C7. I read online the current work around to this issue is to connect XBO/PS4 to playbar/ beam with optical cable to get the 5.1. This is probably why both LG and Sonos stopped looking at this issue. As the Sonos Arc removed optical and only support ARC, what are my options now?, do I have to return the Sonos Arc?     

I recently bought a new tv (Prism E65) it doesn’t have an optical port, so I bought a audio extractor optical to HDMI https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B01KLBKQBK/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1 but the sound is still coming thru the TV not my playbase… anyone have any ideas?  Thank ls in advance!!   

Hi,   Can someone please attach a picture of their Sub gen 3 power cord?   My preorder arrived with a L shaped connection (Play:1) and Sonos has sent me the wrong power cord again (Playbar).   My ARC power cord fits perfectly and imagine that the SUB Gen 3 Power cord should be something similar,   Thanks
