Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

I am trying to set up my new speaker, Beam gen2 and it will not connect to the internet. I get to the setup stage where it asks for the password to the network and then fails after typing in the password saying it is unable to connect. I have tried using a wired connection directly to the router and it gives the same error. I have a Netgear R6700AX router and have split the SSIDs into a 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. The device I am using to set up the speaker is also connected to the 2.4 network. I have tried connecting both with and without password security on the network. Have previously used a Sonos speaker with a wired connection (Play3) with no issues at my former apartment without issues but that speaker will not work in my house either. It is the same ISP but that has been the only change so I assume that is the issue. Talked with Sonos support for about an hour yesterday without any progress. Any suggestions or am I just stuck with a useless speaker? What to ask the ISP?

I am not able to connect to Sonos speakers from Spotify. This has worked fine for many years before. I have tested on IOS, Pixel Tablet and Samsung android. Tried to log in and out. AirPlay works fine. Other users work fine. Suggestions on what I should do?

I wanted to get this issue in as a fix request. I see another user posted the same issue, but it was “closed for further comments” In short, I have 2 separate systems; home and business. Every day when I come home or arrive at work, the app will say “system not found. Connect to local system”. It’s a pain, but even more than that, and it wasn’t mentioned in the other post, is that I actually have to log in with email and password every time to get all the features. And when I log in with my personal email at home, it connects both systems to my personal email. So that when I get to work, I have to log in with my work email, and it connects both to that email. Please make it easy and seemless to switch between multiple systems again

I Had a Beam connected by HDMI cable playing sound of TV. I added a new equipment, a Move 2 and the TV is not playing in the Move2. Both are in the same group. Only by Spotify I did it.

I have two amps connected you can play on both individually but cant link them to play together? 

Recently unplugged and replugged in my Sonos ARC and do not have sound.    Please help 

Hi, am I the only one considering to swap out Sonos to Bluesound?Bluesounds newer products is launched with Dirac room correction, which allows to fine tune any speaker that is connected to it. And the also provides a wireless sub.

I think I know how to do this, but I am gun-shy with the app lately.  My confidence is low in getting things right that used to be easy for me.  I purchased two new Era 100’s.  I want to replace my two Play:1’s that are surrounds in my home theatre room with the Era 100’s and repurpose my Play:1’s in another room.  I think I go through the “Remove Surrounds” in my existing home theatre room, but not sure.  Is this correct?  If so, how do I create a new room and add my Play:1’s to that room?  I am also thinking I need to do this before plugging in my new Era 100’s so I can add them as new devices and identify them as surrounds in my existing home theatre room.  Is my thinkin correct here?  If so, anything I need to watch out for or know before I start this?  After the app rebuild a year of so ago I have gotten myself into trouble numerous times trying to do something I thought would be easy.    

I have concerns regarding the possibility of replacing my SONOS ONE Surrounds with SONOS ERA 300s because I do not use a Sound Bar.  I do use two hard wired Klipsch book shelf speakers as the front speakers with a Klipsch 12” Subwoofer.  These sound great together so I dont want to screw it up.  Any similar concerns or experience with this proposed design using the ERA 300s?

Had to do a factory reset on my Move speaker yesterday and in the process discovered a software update that I applied to the speaker.  Since reconnecting to the speaker in the Sonos App, my wife and I cannot share control of the speaker, see played history, etc. from our separate Sonos accounts on our separate iPhone 16’s.  Since I set it up, I am registered as the “system owner” and my wife is prompted to log in as the system owner on her phone if she wants to view play history, or add her own Apple Music connection from her phone--so she can play her music.  All this shared play, using our own Sonos accounts worked yesterday, now it doesn’t.  I dug around through the app looking for a way to extend permissions or include another user as owner and didn’t have any luck.  What is going on with this thing?

I have currently a home cinema set-up with a Beam (Gen 2) and 2x ERA 100. I use it for TV sound and also to listen to music. As the room is quite large, I would like to add 1 ERA 100 speaker a bit further in the room, to enhance my music listening (not for use with the TV/Home cinema). So I would select the speaker (using a different room name as the home cinema speakers) only when I listen to music. Could that work ?

I went away for a few days.  On returning I opened the app. No "Sources" heading or list. Tried stopping and restarting the app a few times to no avail. The TV plays fine. Both sources are shown in the corresponding room details. App is Android. What is happening? 

I have 4 pairs of speakers around the house running on a nighthawk router.I’m able to listen to radio with iheart.I have music on my pc I want to listen to.I’m running Windows8.  I gave permission to Sonos to share the folder.  When I attempt to add it in the app, it won’t work.  913 I tried a zip drive into the router, but the router doesn’t see it.  WORST part about sonos is, it doesn’t work.

Nachdem ich jetzt die Arc Ultra habe und als Surround Boxen noch die One nutze habe ich überlegt diese durch ERA300 zu ersetzen. Aufgrund meiner Raumgeometrie können die background Boxen allerdings nicht hinter den Sitzpositionen stehen und zum TV schauen. Mein Raum ist rel. lang gestreckt (9 m) und das Sofa befindet sich etwa in der Mitte, der TV hinten. Die Surround Boxen müssen also seitlich stehen und in den Raum rein ausgerichtet sein, auch weil man nicht immer Fernsehen schaut, sondern sich im Esszimmerbereich dieses Raumes aufhält und dort Musik hören will  Macht es unter diesen Umständen überhaupt Sinn die Era 300 zum Einsatz zu bringen? My Arc is connected to a Sonos Amp that powers my in-ceiling Klipsch speakers as surrounds. I understand that Trueplay is not available in this configuration.If I take my Amp out of the zone and run TruePlay with only my Arc and Sub 3, then reconnect the Amp, will the Trueplay configuration stay in effect? Or will I lose it?

HiIs it possible to use Play:1 exclusively via 5G on mobile phone or do I need to have wifi set up?

I recently upgraded to the new iPhone 16 and since then my Sonos system won’t work. The system can’t be found on the network or it will find some of the speakers, not all and then they all disappear. I did all of the troubleshooting- reboot router, delete & reinstall app, reboot speakers, factory reset on all speakers and then spent over 3 hours troubleshooting with Sonos tech support and still no resolve. Suggested I have internet provider split out internet but confirmed through router app that everything is on the same network. What am I supposed to do to resolve? Extremely frustrated.

Hi Everyone, after another half day or more with Sonos Support (they tried but could not solve the problem of the again missing iTunes Library after the latest update), I thought I found a fix. Apparently, the computer's name should not include any hyphens for the official work around provided by Sonos. That was the only fix in my case to at least connecting, after receiving all sorts of 913, 1002, access denied errors when trying to re-add the Music Library on Sonoma, which had been broken after the most recent update.But then, after the library was indexing and updating, after a while an error message popped up that said that the location where the library was, is no longer available???When  nothing was moved and everything works on my Mac in the Music app. And the whole library disappeared from Sonos again. It is a riddle to me how an app can be created that only can “connect” to a local file and folder when a Windows sharing environment is enabled. Now my question.Could I add e.g. a Move 2 to my environment (Move 2 is capable for Bluetooth), so using Move 2 I can connect via Bluetooth and playing my podcast via Arc and Move 2?Does this work? BRStefan

After S2 App update bombed out my library i have reconnected again.Here is how I did it using a Synology DS124 NAS.I followed instruction for SMB and shared folder settings at:In the NAS setup/admin:All the music files are in NAS shared folder \music. Installed the Synology “Media Server” app on the NAS and set SSDP advertisement interval to 10s to allow DLNA access to NAS.In the SONOS S2 App added the shared folder://192.168.50.4/music User is your NAS login username. Password is you NAS login password.Note use of “/” in IP address, not “\”.“192.168.50.4” is the IP address my router has allocated to the NAS. Using the NAS’s network name “Server Name” did not work. The risk with using the IP address is that if the router reallocates the IP address then you will lose the link and will need to relink shared folder with new IP address. Good luck.
