Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

My Sonos Arc is now having some issues after 1 year of use and I’ve tried every suggested help article as well as some of the solutions provided in this community. The Arc software is up to date and so is the software for my TV as well as my Apple TV device. I have also submitted a diagnostic request: *********** I am experiencing 3 main issues, in order of frequent occurrence:The sound cuts out every hour or so for about 10 seconds. It just suddenly gets completely quiet and then the sound returns to normal after 10 seconds. This happens when I am watching anything on my Apple TV streaming device Every few days or so, there is a loud popping/cracking sound. This usually happens when the screen saver is on or something is paused. Basically when no actually movie or video is playing. The sound is loud, as if a speaker has blown out, and it lasts about 3-5 seconds When just streaming music via Spotify using the Arc (TV is not on at all), the music will just stop completely. Short version: I have an Amp that was working fine yesterday. While moving things around, the power and HDMI input became disconnected. Everything is plugged back in and now the power LED won’t go on, the buttons on the front panel are unresponsive, and it no longer responds to the IR signal from my Apple TV remote. It will play sound, but only after I go into the mobile app and went through “Setup TV.” The power LED, IR remote, and touch controls are enabled in the app control panel.Setup: I have multiple devices connected to an HDMI selector switch (Apple TV, DVD/BD player, and Switch cradle). On the HDMI switch, there is a TOSLink audio out. I have an adapter (from Sonos) connected to that and the other end connects to an HDMI cable that goes into the Amp. The output is normal stereo speakers. It’s connected to my LAN through CAT5, so I can connect to it through wifi, even though I have wifi turned off on it (to make it use the CAT5 physical cable). Hi allI need expert advice for improving my existing setup.Today, I own: 1 playbar, 1 sub, 2 sonos play:1. I also have a ProJect turntable.I just swapped my TV for a projector. The projector gets the signal from the TV set top box (decoder) (connected in HDMI). Both the projector and the decoder are far away from the wall where the audio has to be.Both the decoder and the video projector have bluetooth connectivity. I am ready to invest some money (not too much) to upgrade my system. I cannot add a music library to my Sonos application on my MacBook Air.The MacBook Air is an Apple M1, 2020, system running Sequoia 15.2. Itb has a system drive:The system drive has top level Applications, Library, System and Users folders. The Users folder has two sub-folders: chrismellor and Shared.I am Chris Mellor, which is my Apple user name, with a mail address of chris.******@*********.comThe chrismellor folder has several sub-folders amongst which is Music. This contains folders for artists and a Music Library.musiclibrary file. The MacOS Music app plays music from this folder through the MacBook Air’s speakers.I have a Sonos OS S2 on my iPhone and  the Sonos speaker set up is a Playbar paired with a Sub and two Play:3s. Since the last update in mid-December I have lost access to my local music folder.  It was working for months and then when I tried to update it in Sonos because I added some music to my library it wouldn’t work.  I thought removing the library and re-adding it would help but I haven’t been able to add it using the path that used to work.  I keep getting a message that the music library is no longer available or may not have power, which doesn’t make sense since my library is on my iMac’s hard drive.  The path that used to work went to the iTunes folder (see image below) but when I read the latest instructions about adding a local music library it says to share/add the “Music” folder; however, I have three “Music” folders (see image below).  Which one am I supposed to share/add?  Thank you for any help.  

My system is very slow. Every time i open My app on the Mobile. The message in the speaker group says "Ikke noe innhold" (Norwegian - in English "no content). After 10-15 seconds the content appears and we can start  listening to last used content. If listening and want to stop, same situation slow reactions.

I acquired a great pair of Sonos Play: 3 speakers with the Bridge when my office decided to eliminate them from our network setup. I have them playing in my bedroom on the house network and can access them with both S1/S2 apps and with the Spotify app itself, as well as controlling the volume seamlessly using Google Assistant (volume to xx%). I would like to be able to run my computer gaming sounds through them, and movies from my smart TV as well without having to add additional hardware to my network.Will I need to run it all through the Bridge unit, or can I keep them connected wirelessly? Or is that not going to work at all?

 recently moved into a new home and have been struggling to connect two Play:1 Sonos speakers to a Google Mesh network, which I do not have administrative access to. Initially, I tried using the Sonos S2 app, but I couldn’t connect the speakers, even when directly hardwired to the network. After numerous failed attempts, I downgraded both speakers to the S1 system, which allowed me to connect each speaker individually to the network. However, I’ve encountered a persistent problem: I cannot get both speakers on the same Sonos system. When one speaker is set up, any attempt to “Add” the second speaker fails and forces me to reset it. The only consistent method to add the second speaker is by using the “search for missing device” option after resetting it, but after successfully add the system, Sonos prompts me to log in to configure the speaker. This process always results in the creation of a separate Sonos system for the second speaker. As a result, both speakers are connected to the s

My previous post “Play & shuffle from folder view of local library still missing from July 22 app update” has been closed to further comments, so I’m continuing here.As the topic says, the ability to play or shuffle from the folder view of the local library is still missing from today’s iOS version, 80.11.38. I haven’t tried the Android update - my phone is still running the 16.1 app from before this mess started.I’ve seen posts from others who used to rely on this missing feature, and it is the main way we’ve always used our library. I’m thankful that it’s still available in the S1 app, which is looking like our long-term solution.

hello, i  bought a sonos ace, and when i went back to my country i inbox it and see that bluetooth not working, it keep showing me purple light, when i restart the blue light flash for two sc and go back purple, i tried to reboot by plugning usb, by keep pressing power 3 7 1000 seconde nothning work, contact me please, am not happy at all

I recently got these headphones and I am having issues with connectivity. It keeps on disconnecting from my laptop. The longest it stays connected is 2 minutes which is very frustrating. Nothing is covering the IR. Not sure what the issue is as it connects fine to my phone. 

Why is everything SONOS so unbelievably complicated?

Lately I have noticed annoying vibration or ressonance especially from voices or talking. I have owned the beam for 3 years and the problem is recent, so something has happened. Any ideas?

I have a background noise on my system, sounds like somebody connected to my ARC playing a game. Is there a way to check which devices are connected to my system? The sound pops up when i watch tv, when i mute the tv the sound remains.Appreciate your feedback.Thanks, Rick

I have connected a Dual turntable DT 210 (with a working build in pre-amplifyer) and a Sonos Port (Line in) but i can't get it working (no sound). What am i doing wrong?

So - With the new Sonos App Release in Spring 2024 there has been a number of challenges.   The most recent one for those of us that have used Sonos as a source for a Crestron controlled Home automation.  Discontinuation Notice: Sonos® App Support on Crestron Touch Panels- Update January 9th, 2025 - Crestron has discontinued the use of the Sono’s app in it’s panels - (This is due to the updated Sonos App and no warning to its partner Crestron that it would not work back in spring 2024) https://community.crestron.com/s/article/2986 So… having said that - Lots of expensive home systems (Thousands… 20K,30K+ systems) do not have a functional source solution -  Thanks Sonos!   My customers love me now! Any installers or users that have found a work around or another solutions?     I will not be recommending Sonos to customers now - how they handled the release of the app and its partners. 

I’ve recently bought Era 300s for use as rear surrounds but have discovered that they won’t work with most of my 4K discs as the audio is DTS rather than Dolby Atmos.  My 4K player (Panasonic UB820) doesn’t seem to have any option to convert the audio to Dolby but my Xbox Series X does. My question is what are the best settings to choose on the Xbox to get the best results for DTS discs.  Do I select Dolby Atmos or 5.1 uncompressed or Dolby digital?  As an aside, am I correct in saying that the UB820 can’t convert audio? Any help appreciated, thanks.

Mijn systeem bestaat uit de arc, sub en de amp met 2 plafondspeakers.  als ik mijn tv aansteek, kan ik automatisch via de arc geluid horen. Dan kan ik in de app de amp met de speakers aanduiden. Na enkele seconden komt er daar ook geluid uit. Maar soms valt het geluid uit van de 2 speakers, en komt dan plots terug. De arc heeft dit probleem niet. Many thanks for any help.  Era 100 which has been functioning well has suddenly started with an error which I can’t find described in the help pages.  The speaker actually still works, but whenever it is plugged in has random runs of rapid chimes/noises associated with rapid flashing green and orange (and sometimes red) lights.  There is no pattern to when the runs happen but it is every couple of minutes at most. There is no pattern to the length of the runs of chimes/lights and this varies quite wildly.  The flashes and sounds are rapid, several per second.  Have had to unplug the speaker rather than listen to it 24/7! It has not responded to resetting the router, several power cycles including one lasting a couple of days, a full factory reset and update of the speaker, and the advice on how to bring a device out of diagnostic mode.  Has anyone had a similar error or come across this error described anywhere? 

Volume keeps.going to 15 every time I raise the Volume it drops back to 15

With the new update I am having trouble using the shuffle icon shuffling my playlist. also when will the artist list and song list get the sidebar with the alphabet to help in selecting songs and or artists thanks D
