Hello, after a year, a new CEO and now a “we are sorry” phase from Sonos, I want to put a very niche feature back on the table for a future sprint from your dev teams :

The support of custom providers.

Yes you might want HTTPS, but I know how to install a reverse proxy.

Please let us, the tech advanced people do cool tricks again and let me use subsonic again with my Sonos system.

Hi @garfieldairlines

Thank you - I've marked this thread as a feature request and it will be seen by the relevant teams for consideration. Keep the ideas coming!

Use Desktop a third party for your custom providers, they are still supported there. The Sonos cloud proxying means they are not coming back to the mobile app.

The developer of Subsonic, Sindre, removed the service from Sonos in 2023.

Are you sure they are still supported? Hitting the customsd endpoint on a player gives me a 403 error so it looks like it doesn’t work anymore. Or maybe you can only use services you have added already before the update but not add new ones?

I still see the customsd page on my S2 Playbar. I haven’t tried entering any data.

Ok that’s odd, you are up to date or are you running the old pre-catastrophic update S2 firmware?

I’m totally up-to-date. It might depend on the device type though? I tried it on my Playbar.
