Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

I am installing my Sonos Era 300 stand. At step 3, I can’t seem to figure out how to install the washer far enough into the base so that the stand pole isn’t rather loose and unstable. Does anyone who has successfully installed the stand have any tips to make it stable?

Hi Everyone I have a mix of Sonos and traditional wired speakers. Has anyone integrated both types into one audio system? If so, how did you manage the setup and what challenges did you face? Thanks!

Background. I’ve got an older system — H80 and H100? Something like that? — connecting to my own speakers around my house, running on the S1 app. I then got some newer Sonos speakers which are in my tv room, running on the new Sonos app.S1 components have needed updates for about a year, but I couldn’t get the updates to work.  Error messages, and yes I tried all the Sonos suggestions. Didn’t help.  But… the system was working, I didn’t need new features, I figured as long as that continued I didn’t need to update them again.   This worked great.  Until early Jan this year, the S1 components all stopped working.  So I open the S1 app, and it’s telling me I can do everything on the S2 app… but i need to update my components.  Ugh.So first question — is this accurate? Will the older components now work on the newer Sonos app? I’m planning on taking my 3-component setup for the s1 items and cutting back to just 1 component.  I’m not using two of the components any more at all, I just need

Hey, I have a video (with Audio) of my Wonderboom 4 $119 AUD performing better than my 2x Sonos Play 5 and Sub. This has only occured in the last year recently and is the subject of hundreds of posts. Can Sonos advise if they are looking into it and the progress. Anybody with any info would be appreciated….  

Found some varying answers from a historical forum search so I’m hoping to find some current opinions (as well as consolidation of my questions into one thread).I am looking to build a new system which I’m guessing will be a Beam (Gen 2), a Sub MIni and 2x Era 100s.   There is a chance that I might go Sub instead of Sub Mini but I don’t think this impacts my questions:I will most likely be looking at wall mounting the surrounds.  (This a room renovation so the electricians will put power outlets wherever I ask).   Would it be better to have the surrounds mounted on the side walls (but slightly behind the main viewing area) facing inward OR on the back wall facing forward? What features should I look for in a TV purchase to make this most compatible for this system? Is it correct to say that I don’t need any other components beyond the above for great home theater? Assuming the answer to 3) is “yes”, what else would I need if I changed my mind and decided to add any legacy stereo compon

I use my Sonos system most of the time when I go to bed at night. For the past couple of months I can’t just hit the Sonos app, select my source of music and listen. It appears that the tunes are playing because the white line that shows the music advancing is moving along but no sound. I hit the pause button and get a message saying that the pause function isn’t working now, try later. I can usually just try selecting a different station and get some tunes…sometimes. sometimes I have to select several different stations to finally get some music. The system is dropping components again. That used to happen on a regular basis but not at all since the app upgrade. At least until a couple of days ago. Not sure what’s going on.

Quick community Q: How is the latest version of the desktop app for Mac? (As background, I have deliberately not updated the desktop controller since May as it was the most reliable way to control my system and I wanted to make sure that I at least kept that. Let’s not reopen the whole app issue up again) However recently it has begun to struggle with a few things - most obviously when trying to start or switch music/playlists in Apple Music. What is the latest version of the app like? I’m happy to switch across if it improves things but I really, really, really don’t want to update it and find out that the new version does less than the one I currently have Anyone have any experience of using the latest version of the desktop controller on Mac (and I’m using a 2015 iMac) Thanks!

I’m looking to use two era 100s in stereo config with my SVS subwoofer. Can I use my gen 2/S2 connect amp using the sub output to the SVS and then group with the era’s? Ultimately I need bluetooth to connect the sonos to my peloton.

Hello,Newbie here, first time posting and new to Sonos. I’m looking into installing a surround sound system in a medium to large open room for watching movies and playing music. Was thinking of getting the Arc Ultra, Sub 4 and a pair of Sonance 8” ceiling speakers with the Sonos amp. Using ceiling speakers due to wife doesn’t want to see  speakers on stands behind couch. Thank you for ,the assistance. Should I connect amp and Arc sound bar to router with network ?Will my Samsung tv remote control my audio in tv mode?

Since the most recent update (82.3-60160) we are now getting “something went wrong” messages about 90% of the time on all our controllers for all our players for just about every operation. Can’t play music - local or services. Can’t adjust volume. Can’t group or ungroup. Can’t stop music once we do get it playing. Etc. We have uninstalled/reinstalled the apps, rebooted the speakers, rebooted the whole network (Sonos’ answer to everything), but it doesn’t seem to matter. This is the most useless our system has been since the disastrous new app rollout, and that’s really saying something. I see many threads about similar errors. Is this being worked on? Any explanation or ETA for a fix?

Does anyone know how to fix this, or whether it’s just not feasible.  I have the following system paired 1 Sonos beam, x2 Sonos ones and a sub. I call this pairing BEDROOM. This pairing is connected via HMDI arc from the Beam to the TV. When I group my Sonos roam SL to the bedroom pairing, the Sonos Roam SL will also play the tvs audio, Albeit with a slight delay.  However, when I group my Sonos Move to the Bedroom pairing, the Move is silent. No audio comes out.  for context if I use airplay from my Iphone, I can group all of my devices, including the Move and play music, YouTube etc.  the problem seems to only be the Move refusing to play audio when grouped with the bedroom pairing and the TV is the source of audio.  I have tried restarting the Move, turning the whole system on and off etc and can’t seem to fix this issue. 

Hello. I don t understand why my AirPod stay 2 seconds connect to my tv and after disconnect to go to my beam. Even if I change the sound settings on my tv.

Dose it make sense to add a Mini sub to my Arc Ultra? Or do I just bite the bullet and get a Sub 3 or 4?Leaning towards the Mini,but will it work?

My Sonos Play 1 has done the same as many others before and blown part of it’s 240V step-down circuitry so when powered via the mains the unit no longer worksThe parts blown are the two 1 Ohm 1206 SMD resistors just up from the big brown capacitor on the power step-down part of the board as also happened to @Lazarov and @Helix66 in this threadBlown resistors R522, R523, R524 MosFet next to itSo I decided to go the route of @huntajon and wire in a 24V DC laptop power supply across one of the two tall capacitors, however when testing these for continuity, I am getting a short which then manifests itself in a buzzing unhappy power 24V laptop supply when I connect itI’ve checked the polarity of the wires vs. the - stripe on the capacitor and this is all correct, so I wondered (a) whether something blown would be shorting the circuit and (b) what is the quickest and easiest way to disconnect all of that circuitry from where I am soldering, and just have the 24V circuit and low voltage parts

As a Sonos customer, here’s my experience:Controlling music from my Apple desktop computer is incredibly frustrating. I can’t select or play music without encountering issues like a spinning wheel or app crashes. I’ve resorted to quitting the app on my desktop and using my iPhone instead, but even then, I often need to press the play button 3–4 times before it connects.I’ve stopped using my Sonos Connect Amp (2nd Gen) entirely because frequent music drops became unbearable. Now, I rely on my Sonos Playbar downstairs to listen to music upstairs.Sonos tech support suggested changing channels in the app or adjusting my Wi-Fi settings, toggling between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. I am trying to connect a Ray soundbar to a relatively old TV.The TV has an SPDIF Out. But it is not working at all. I have tried to use an optical cable which has a mini Toslink connector at one end.Do I need to buy a separate converter?

Himy beam gen 2 has decided to change the volume on its own if I turn it up it just goes down 

I get the message “Something went wrong.  Try again.”  for almost everything I do.  I mostly use “Favorites” and”Recently played” from the Sonos Home Screen but neither work at all since the uograde app.  Any time I try to play a selection in either of these sections I get the message “Something went wrong.  Try again.” Furthermore, Recently played previously listed the most recent Recently played selection but now presents in some other order so I have to look for the last Most recently played which, once I find it, does not play anyway and results in “Something went wrong.  Try again.”! My workaround is to go into music services and find what I want to play an play it from there.  Which defeats the purpose of having a Favorites and Recently played option!  It’s like having an old car stereo with buttons to save your station that only save the frequency but you must manually tune to that frequency each time.its bad enough to have all my Favorites and Recentjy played showing up but nev

Hi,Managed to block all updates back in May -24, and still running my 15 devices with the golden S2 16.1 app (Android) and system 16.1.1 on speakers, my Amp and Port.  Full wifi setup without Sonosnet, and as Asus routers have a bad rap with Sonos, my AX86U is set to Wifi 5 with QoS disabled, better play it safe. Everything works decently, including Alexa and Sonos Voice.  As long as I’m on Android staying with the old app is no problem, on a new phone I can just sideload it.With the frozen state of the system I haven’t been able to add any new devices, which given my hobbyist knack is getting frustrating.  Is the new app (and system) already good enough, so that nice new speakers outweigh the potential hassle with the new software?  Or should I just stay a holdout and start to view the Sonos more as an appliance, not touching it until I someday might move house?   Any thoughts?

Hi.I have a playbar that i  move to my cabin , i have uppgrade to arc ultra Home.I have problem with connecting the playbar , dont have sound out from my tv.And i have TRIED EVERYTHING , is there  some trick  some have ? i will be grateful.

Hi. Installing a new system. For some reason it has established 2 systems on the same router. This means I cannot connect my 100s to the Arc Ultra (system2) as surround sound because they are claimed by system1. Tried  ‘forget’ function multiple times. Doesn’t work. Cannot find help completely deleting a system anywhere. HELP!!
