Hi @Camerong

I’m sorry to hear you’re having issues with removing Spotify from your system.

If you want to remove a music service, you’ll need to be logged into your system and on the same network as your system. Once you’ve done that, tap the account icon in the app then go to Content Services → Spotify → Remove Service. If your services aren’t showing, restart the Sonos app by closing and re-opening it.

If you aren’t able to be on the same network, then you wont be able to make any account adjustments to your system. The Web App doesn’t allow you to make any changes under the account section in the app (it’s not available on the web app), only the settings section.

I hope this information helps!

Thanks Jamioe - for the response although it does not resolve my issue.
At this point I think the only solution then is to let my spotify account lapse and then maybe open a new account with a new eamil address - correct?

@Camerong, See… Unlinking your Spotify from third-party creators - Spotify

… or maybe better yet (Sign out Everywhere): How to log out of Spotify - Spotify

Hi @Jamie A - I realize you’re a Sonos staffer and not a Spotify one, but do you happen to know if the solution suggested by @Smilja of removing access via the Spotify website would solve @Camerong (and my) issue of needing to remotely sign out on a different network?

I’ve removed access via Spotify then re-authorized it via the Sonos app on my local network, but have no way of knowing if I’ve also reauthorized it at the remote location or only on my local network. (Hope that makes sense)

Hi @Nick Danger

I use Spotify on my system almost daily, so I can have a look into this for you.

The Third-party creator page seems to be for specific podcasts/platforms, but not for Sonos. Sign out everywhere also mentions that it doesn’t sign you out of partner devices which would be speakers (Sonos), consoles, TV, etc. The specific page for unlinking Spotify from third-party devices is the Manage Apps page on Spotify’s website.

If you log in on Spotify.com, then go to Profile → Account → Manage Apps → Scroll to Sonos and Remove Access. This should stop Sonos from being able to play Spotify content without you having to remove it from the Sonos app and would require a re-auth to get it working again.

If you removed access, you’d need to reauthorize Spotify at the remote location as well. A reauthorization isn’t account wide and only applies to the system you are currently connected to, so the remote system shouldn’t have access anymore (which I think you want).

I hope this information helps!

Thanks @Jamie A, I appreciate the response. Your suggestion was exactly what I did and exactly the results I was hoping. I did indeed have to reauthorize Spotify on my local Sonos system, so assumed the same would be the case at the remote location. If not, my renter and I would be fighting for control over the playlist 😂

cheers,

Nick
