How can you connect Ray sound bar to new tv with no optical input

Hard to do. If memory serves, you could AirPlay 2 to it, or more likely find an HDMI to optical converter to connect it. There are switches that you could put an HDMI input into which strip out the optical sound, and pass an HDMI signal (video) to the TV, usually HDMI switches, but relatively inexpensive.

Thanks

As described by @Airgetlam, use this - it’s superb, cheap, and allows you to connect the Ray to the HDMI ARC/e-ARC port:

Basically, you connect the TV’s HDMI-eARC to this extractor by HDMI cable, then optical cable from this extractor to the Ray.

As you’re in Aus, you might not be able to see this link, so search Amazon or Google for:

“PROZOR HDMI ARC Audio Extractor 5.1CH – HDMI ARC to Optical SPDIF RCA L/R 3.5mm 2.0CH Audio Converter”

Thanks I’ll check it out
