Volume Levels Across Multiple Speakers should NOT be auto adjusted towards the same level

Maybe you can work something out with Volume Limit.

The group volume control, as you say, controls the group - ie all the speakers in the group, increasing or decreasing their volume per the control. But when I try that, the volume for each speaker/stereo pair is increasing by the “unit” increase. So if speaker a is at volume 15 and stereo pair b are at 7, the volumes then increase 16/8, 17/9, 18/10 etc. which seems different behaviour to what you describe. I did try running up to much louder settings briefly but the same differences held.

Of course you can also adjust the volume of a or b individually too. 

I noticed the same issue but in my case was the internet connection, I hope your issue is the same and with a easy solution.

This is the precise behaviour I see too…

I’m using an iPhone as controller. What are you others using? Maybe it’s an Android-specific issue?

Hi, I noticed the quite same problem here : I run 4 sonos One and 1 Move 2.

If the speackers have different volumes, when I ask sonos to put the same volume to each speackers, i.e. volume 15, Sonos calculate and set the average volume beetween the 5 speackers. I can’t find the right instruction to say to sonos to set the same level (here volume 15) to each speacker.

Any idea about this problem ?

If you drag the Group slider to zero, the Group numeric Volume values will align as you raise the slider.

As you have noticed from other posts in this thread, this behavior is not universally accepted as the proper way to implement the slider.

Are you using Alexa or SONOS Voice Control? You might try naming your Group. Both Alexa and SONOS Voice Control have some capability to control Groups. I don’t know if either would control group  Volume as you would like.

Neither Alexa, nor Sonos voice control can satisfy my request… 

As soon as the group reach all the speakers, Sonos set an average value. if I ask to the group named “downstairs” (4 speakers/5) it works ; the volume is correctly set to the same value, on each speaker.

Surprising the difference of response from Sonos App...
