Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

Afternoon all. We have a wired network in home environment. On top of this we have approx 12 Sonos boxes, all S2 and none so old. The NW is comprised of 2 x 48 port Netgear PoE switches (very recent ones) and a Netgear Orbi wifi 6 router (an RS853) with 5 (RBR850) satellites. Also fairly up to date. All vanilla, out of the box settings. All FW up to date. There are maybe 4 small 8 port PoE switches attached also in odd parts of the house.Performance on the NW is not so good these days and in fault finding, I was told and sent links saying that Sonos is notorious for impacting NW performance. Have to confess this was news to me.But just to ask please, are there any optimum settings or best practice, for a wired environment that we would be wise to make? Even just to eliminate Sonos as the suspect or source? We ran a wired environment very much to avoid performance issues. It would be good to know that we have Sonos set up in the best possible way. A

Hi all,Maybe 4 years back I installed a pair of 100’s, an ARC and a Sub in small lounge to use with a Panasonic TV.At time of install I had horrible problems getting it working. I had support from Sonos and my memory of this was NOT to RJ45 connect the 100’s but to wirelessly connect them to the ARC and SUB … both of which were on RJ45.I never really understood why at the time but in fairness, it all worked and has worked nicely since.But ideally I’d prefer ALL my Sonos devices be wired to simplify the configuration, make it more secure and eliminate any risk of performance issues and …. well, I just like cables better 😉Just to ask if this is possible to do please and if there is a procedure to set this up that maybe I did not understand so well first time of install?Many thanks in advance

I was hoping after todays firmware update that the S1 app on Android would no longer prompt me or give me the option to turn of said prompt to downgrade to S2 version. Please Sonos, update the app so I can shut this off in settings! Thank you! 😥 

Heya,as stated in the title im looking for a solution to link 2 sonos 100 and 1 sonos 300 speakers.i bought them for my father, the first 2 sonos 100 were easy to set up.i linked them to a room without a problem, they are now listed as stereo pair. the problem is the 300 speaker. as i try to assign it to the same room it just creates a copy of it with only the 300 speaker.so now i have “room” with 2 x sonos 100and “room 1” with 1x sonos 300ideally i would like to assign both to the same room but it just does not seem possible on the iphone sonos configuration app.i know i can select both rooms in the sonos app to play something but this means i have to do it everytime media changes ( like media from a connected phone, tv or by selecting something in the sonos app)there is no shot i can explain this to my father so im looking for a foolproof method to couple the speakers. im open to using differ

Tv Beam 2 dialogue is ahead of 2 × ERA 300sI also have a mini subI have updated all equipment & unplugged everything. Have been trying for hours.Any help would be much appreciated ThanksKev 

I have 21 devices throughout my home and all were working yesterday. Today (4/1/2025 how appropriate) I opened the app to see that a software update was required. The update takes several minutes and fails every time I try it. I have rebooted all devices and my router. Does anyone know what I can try to resolve the issue?

Can anyone help get me to the upgrade page? I keep getting directed to my account settings page when I click on the “Upgrade Page” link on the Sonos site. 

I am not able to get any sound out of my speakers when playing from Itunes in Windows 10.  The Airplay supported Move 2 speakers do show up in Itunes and I checked them to be used but no sound comes out. This is a second question:I also can not get my Itunes playlist to show up in the Sonos App “Imported Playlist” folder.  Nothing is in the but y itunes library has many playlists.  I have recently indexed my library in Sonos and, of course, my itunes file folder has been shared. It does index with no errors.

Since the May 2024 updates of the android application & still currently (80.17.09 02/2025 ) - loss of queue list management- Difficulty displaying large playlists - impossible to manage libraries- intolerable latencies in commands ( 10 second wait to increase sound or pause )This is not related to the infrastructure of my home, I do not reproduce these symptoms on the S2 application installed on my PC on the same wifi network.What can I do to restore these functions? 

The snooze function is not working on my samsung s24ultra. I have all the latest updates installed.Alarms are working.

Everyday i open my ERA 100 one of the stereo paired speaker have no sounds, i also noticed that everytime i add my mini sub one of the speaker will deactivate the sounds, i tried to reset all but still the same issue.

I just received an email that Calm integration with Sonos will end. This is a big loss, as my whole family uses this. We will definitely cancel our Calm subscription, but it also is a blow for Sonos. Very unfortunate that this happened after being on Sonos for many years. 

Up until the last few weeks I’ve had my Beam volume somewhere between 17-20. Now I’m having to  turn the volume between 25-30. If there an update I need to do?  I’ve restarted, but nothing has changed. 

After almost two years, I suddenly lost the wifi connection to my Sonos Beam. I have tried restarting the router and factory resetting the Beam. When trying to reconnect the Beam, it is unable to find my wifi network. I understand this might sound like a 2.4/5.0 Ghz issue, but I have another Sonos Beam in the house that I am not having any issues with. Furthermore, I haven’t made any changes to the wifi settings on my router and don’t know why this would suddenly become an issue. During setup, the app does list other wifi networks in the neighbourhodd, but cannot see mine. 

I’m setting up a Playbar. When I get to the step of setting up my IR remote: I press volume up and it says it doesn’t recognize it Press continue The learn remote page shows for about half a second before it tells me it didn’t see an IR signal. I never even get the chance to press volume up three times.   I’ve power cycled, then factory reset the bar. Still having the same problem. My remote is IR, and I can see the light blinking with my phone camera.  thanks in advance for any help

Why is it that I cannot use my ERA 300 speakers as a stereo pair for streaming music and then use them as a surround sound set to watch movies? Yes, I know I can unpair them and reassign them as surround speakers but it doesn’t make sense to me since this is all app controlled not to mention a pain to have to do all that extra work. Can someone shed some light or maybe I’m missing something. Thanks

Wandering about the place connecting speakers as I did some chores in different rooms to listen to my playlist. Go to Sonos app to disengage the zones and…WTF! I mean WTFF!App now useless as it insists i perform an update I do not want to. My system works just fine as it is. After reading various problems I have neither the time and most definitely not the inclination to become an updated “network expert” to sort out problems I never asked for. Sonos you have to bricked my heavy investment in your product.Fortunately I also use SonoPad - for controlling the TV volume - which allowed me to separate my speakers.Why MUST I update my Sonos system to continue to use it?

I was despairing getting clear voice on a pair of Sonos 1s at low volume until I found if you face them backwards with the rear towards where you are voices are suddenly clear and prominent!  Give it a go as I was about to give up and try another make. 

It is possible to set a uniform volume for songs somewhere in the Sonos system. For example, one plays loudly, one is muted, and the other is quiet.

Why I am not able to add era 100. I am on repeat update app 

Why can’t I access any podcasts? Under the podcast services in the app are Amazon, Audible and Pocket Casts.None of those allow access to any podcasts! It seems they don’t work on Spotify either. Why do these services appear on the podcast service menu?I’ve removed and reinstalled everything, signed in and out of everything.Still no access to the world’s podcasts in the Sonos app anywhere.AirPlay isn’t an option. What’s going on here? Is there a solution, or is Sonos making false promises?

I have sonos playbar. Until today i have been using with my setup and it was working. However today my system doesnt see it anymore except ethernet. Do you know why? And also if ı change my playbar with arc, will app problems solve?
