Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

My original post was locked so starting new one.  Posted this 3 months ago, 3 months after the ‘upgrade’:Hi Folks,3+ months into the updated Sonos app debacle, here is a list of features that worked great on version 16 of the app but still do  not work on version 80 of the app.  I hope we can get fixes for these and check them off in less than 3 months:    1) Add/Edit tracks to a Sonos playlist.        I use playlists heavily from music in my local Library. Some of these playlists have thousands to tracks.  Since the upgrade, I cannot edit them at all.    2) Album art.        Album art no longer displays for tracks from my local Library.    3) When viewing the queue, the app should zoom to the currently playing or last played track.        When a playlist has more than dozen or so tracks I shouldn’t have to scroll to find the current track.    4) Touching the volume bar should allow me to adjust the volume for any of the devices currently being used.        Now I have to click the spea

I have tried everything to alter the outcome of the skips and/or audio drop outs but to no avail. I have changed the tv, the hdmi cables, checked connections, resets, etc. This Beam Gen 2 has this random issue where it drops the sound for a fraction of a second, like a skipping record, and then won’t do it again for random intervals. Sometimes it does it every 5-10 minutes and other times it won’t do it for an hour or 2. It’s so random, so obnoxious.The skips happen at random times that aren’t pushing the system or what have you. The volume level makes no difference nor does the material being watched have any effect. It doesn’t ever seem to do it with music streaming that I can think of so that was useful in the process of elimination. But that’s about it as far as narrowing it down. As I said, I didn’t just change out the hdmi cables (which I did 5 times now, I even went out and bought some “special” ones because I was told by a sound guy that was the issue). I tried to do a reset both by consulting on the Internet and with the help of support from Sonos.Nothing.It keeps flashing white. I also tried connecting to the modem but even then the reset doesn't work.Do you have any other solutions?Thank you very much for your help 

Hello, I bought last week two Sonos Ace (black and white) thinking that it was possible to use them to watch tv together with my partner. But NO, is not the case. Unfortunately is not possible. Only one can use the Sonos Ace to enjoy theatre and films on TV.When it would be possible this option and when will have the new update with that?Thanks.  Barcelona 24-02-2025Jordi

I have an LG G4 OLED TV paired with a Sonos Arc soundbar, which needs to be controlled through a Crestron Home system. The soundbar is connected to the TV via HDMI 1 eARC port. The TV alone, without the soundbar, is controlled by Crestron Home without any issues. However, when I connect the soundbar, the only audio function that works through Crestron is Mute, and there is no volume control. As a result, the client, despite having an automation system, has to use the TV remote to adjust the volume. All firmware on both the Sonos and the TV is up to date, and I have also tried changing the HDMI cables. I would appreciate any ideas or if anyone has had a similar experience.

Hi I have 3 Sonos Port + 1 Sonos Arc, all working fine from the Sonos app (iOS). I normally stream Spotify from the Sonos app and all works as expected.I also use regularly Spotify Connect (from Spotify on iOS or Spotify on macOS) to stream music to my Sonos Ports or Sonos Arc. This worked well until the last firmware update (82.2-59204).After the firmware update:My Sonos Ports and Arc are shown as valid Spotify Connect destinations from the Spotify speaker menu (both on iOS and macOS) But when I click on any of the Sonos destinations, Spotify just shows “Connecting...” and nothing happens. Other non-Sonos Spotify Connect speakers work as expectedm both from Spotfy iOS and macOS. My wifi is exacly the same as before the Sonos firmware update, so the problem is not on my wifi.So I assume that the last Sonos firnware udpate broke something on the way Sonos gear responds to Spotify Connect requests? I have an older Sonos system (Z100’s purchased back in 2007 or so).Until recently, it worked just fine.   Then my local internet provider (Xfinity) did some type of update and ever since I have had trouble.Sometimes, I get a message on my app that it is unable to connect to a system.Other times, 2 rooms come up (out of 5 in my system).Then other times, the other 3 rooms show up, but the other 2 do not.I have not had any luck working with Sonos support to address this problem.Dave

My Sony Bravia TV is connected to a Beam soundbar using a quality HDMI Arc cable. The  Sonos ones are also part of the system, and operated with an updated Sonos app.Every time I turn on the TV, it seeks out the external speakers and drops the Beam, leaving two Sonos 1 speakers operating with reduced or no volume. The volume on the Beam must be raised from “0” once I make a reconnection. The “apply” button does not keep the beam set up.The same configuration has to be reset after the tv is turned on. Obviously this inconvenience is tiresome. Ideas anyone?TVTool

My sonos phone app is not seeing or connecting to the any of my 8 sonos speakers.  How do I get the app to talk to the speakers?  

a quick question for those in the know, I am thinking of upgrading my Sonos system at the moment. I have several ZP 100 A around the house which have worked perfectly well for years but a remodel of the house and a wish to have more flexibility where to put speakers without wires, et cetera has made us trial some Sonos fives and era 300s. not impressed with the errors, but the fives would do the job. However, I have a lot of albums stored on a network storage device which at the moment streams to my current system through a ZP 80. Would a port replace this and allow me to stream those albums from the network storage device to other Sonos equipment. any advice would be appreciated. 

I have just ordered the new sub / Era 300 x 2 / Arc Ultra to upgrade from an original playbar/original sub and Sonos one surrounds. At the moment the playbar is connected via optical fibre to my sky q box (if I connected to my tv I got all sorts of lip synch issues). Could anyone tell me from experience the best way to set up this new kit to enable me to get the best possible audio. MyTV is a Samsung S95BA 65 Thank you

So I recently (silly me) upgraded to the latest firmware -Version 16.6 (build 83.1-61240)Hardware Version 1.27.1.11-2.2 Ever since my arc would randomly reboot. It’s connected to a QN85B Samsung TV via eARC. When the problem occurs audio stops and the arc LED flashes white (booting) and then the TV switches back to eARC. I discussed with Sonos support after sending diagnostics (diags aren’t very helpful, because they are only since last boot, so doesn’t catch the problem). They advised that it was because I’m running a piHole and blocking msmetrics.ws.sonos.com I have selected in the Sonos app not to allow Usage Data Sharing, which is what this URL is for. But I guess it doesn’t care and keeps doing it, right? Hoorah for privacy… I find it disturbing that even though I’ve opted out of usage data sharing, they still send it and if they can’t they will reboot themselves randomly. Posting this here to save others time as I couldn’t find any hits on this issue. good morning, I have a collection of 210 tracks on the YouTube music account that I play on the sonos account. For a few days now, if I try to play it on Sonos, it loads me with 33,800 tracks from the same collection. How can I solve the problem? Thank you

If the app has been open for several hours whether music is playing or not,  it won’t respond or takes forever respond if I try to add a room to the active group or change the music.  Sometimes the music just stops and shows only one room that is in the group. It is always the same room whether or not that room was part of the group. I hope this is making sense. Thank for any help or advice you have. 

Two points, and I’m not the first one to discuss either, but I want to be sure that the issues stay flagged: A-Z scrolling in Local Music Library.  The app is almost unusable for moderate to large libraries without it. Ability to see “Contributing Artists”.  The Windows App still does it.  For Compilation Albums, we currently have to choose between having every song in the album show up as its own album, or combine them by tagging ALBUMARTIST as “Various Artists”, but then lose the ability to see the actual artist of each song.  All competitors, including older versions of yourself, have this working properly.The Trello board has gone stale, and release notes recently have been non-specific.  What is your plan these days?

Recently added to Playbar and Sub 2 Era 100 speakers however since the Playbar will not create surround, I ordered a Beam Gen 2. Question - Will Sub Gen 1 work with the Beam 2, Era 100 to create the Surround? I know how the apps now work, but hoping when the Beam 2 arrives, it will all finally work. Thankls

Will you ever fix the poor Ui of the new app?  It’s still way to many steps to select a room and click forward click back to get to a room and it’s very inelegant.  Also, Will you ever add back alpha indexing to music library. Scrolling through 1,000 artists continues to frustrate me. I’m waiting for the app to be fully fixed before I consider buying any additional equipment. It’s been so long

I have no idea what the techs at Sonos have done to the software over last few years, but they have basically ruined a great system.when I try any basic control on Sonos these days, I am now pleasantly surprised if it works……but mostly it doesn’t.i am literally one step away from ditching the whole (10 unit) system for an old school hifi that I know will work.

I've just bought the roam 2, have to say I'm really dissapointed music playback is not enabled via amazon alexa.I did buy a cheaper speaker but returned as it didn't have WiFi and bought this thinking I could just randomly ask her to play music.Having owned the play 3 which has somehow developed an issue connecting to WiFi I feel I've spent an awful lot of money on speakers with limited capabilities! 

My sonos app says no system found, i have reinstalled everything including the app, factory rest, router and wifi reset, everything, but i cannot play any.music as it seems i dont have a system. 

Hi,I have an Sonos amp , Sonos arc and ceiling speakers that are not Sonos . The TV automatically connects to the Sonos arc when I turn on the TV . However, I have to go into the Sonos app and then activate the ceiling speakers to accompany the arc. Is there a way that both the arc and the ceiling speakers are automatically connected to the TV when I turn it on? ThanksBren
