Holy ****, over a year and this app is still a massive piece of ****. Updated the software manually (auto update was on) and some speakers just vanished.

OK….You've had your rant. Would you like to tell us about your issue?

Here’s an idea….

  • Unplug your Sonos
  • Reboot your router and let it come back
  • Delete the Sonos app
  • Power Cycle your device and connect to Wi-Fi
  • Plug in your Sonos 1 x 1.
  • Wait 10 minutes
  • Reinstall the Sonos app
  • Select Join existing system
  • Accept all prompts
  • Sign-in with your credentials

Thanks for the suggestions but the rant is kind of the point.  Over a year of this fiasco and I still have to troubleshoot my speakers at night when I just want to relax and listen to some music?

Unfortunately I know the troubleshooting steps all too well after a year of doing it every week.

My only real question is why doesn’t the system update automatically when auto-updates is turned on.  When I manually check for updates there is usually one even with auto-update turned on.

Probably because they want to ease the load on the servers. Apple and Microsoft do this too.
